Good morning everyone, just a quick hi before I get my youngest up for the bus. Hope everyone has a great day as they are calling for lots of sun and warmer weather here in Southern California.:woohoo:

I've been reading all week, but not posting. Just trying to catch up on all the news.

DS7 was home sick yesterday and now DS10 is home today. Hopefully, I will get both back to school tomorrow.

Is anyone with kids doing the late dining rotation? We did that last time, and we really liked it. I know it runs contrary to the conventional wisdom, but the boys enjoyed the shows at the earlier time and then if they were tired at dinner, they just ate something quick and hit the clubs. Plus with the time changes going from west coast to east, that early dining time will just keep getting earlier and earlier. I do need to call and request the 8:00 pm time, however. 8:30 is a bit late.

so I walked over to Walgreens.....in the mist - it is starting to rain. I was desperate for Advil...but ended up spending more than I wanted...Banana Boat Tanning oils were $2 off and they had some clearenced for $4.19...then they had Coppertone double pack of the continuous spray (for the girls) $15. so I picked those up for the trip. You are not going to get $2.19 oil very often. Well not in FL.

some people have been posting theirs already! And I think on our last cruise the person who headed up our dining had all that prior to us getting to the port. :confused3

I think the previous posts said they knew what rotations the times were going to be. Meaning the 8pm is APL BUT it does not mean they know if they are themselves an 8pm sitting for dinner. The rotations are all set but our reservations are not linked to any particular dining rotation yet. If you have a request in though they try to honor that I am told.

The company has just settled a class action lawsuit for $23 million!!!!

"There's no credible evidence that what's in Airborne can prevent colds or protect you from a germy environment," David Schardt, a nutritionist at the Center for Science in the Public Interest, said in a written statement this week. "Airborne is basically an overpriced, run-of-the-mill vitamin pill that's been cleverly, but deceptively, marketed."

The herbal supplement of vitamins and minz was created back in 1999 with the intent of helping to fight off colds.

It was invented by Victoria Knight-McDowell, a second-grade teacher who according to the product's site, "studied the benefits herbal therapies used in Eastern Medicine." The company also claimed it "boosts the immune system with seven herbal extracts and a proprietary blend of vitamins, electrolytes, amino acids and antioxidants."

Back in March 2006, after an ABC News report revealed that the company's clinical trials were not conducted by doctors or even scientists, Airborne changed their advertising campaign when a plaintiff filed suit against them.

Turns out the "clinical trials" were just conducted by two random individuals!

Shortly after, advertisements for Airborne stopped mentioning the clinical studies and the cold-curing claims. Instead, Airborne began advertising itself as helping to boost the body's immune systems.

Airborne will now be fighting off cash collectors for a total of $23.3 million to settle the class-action lawsuit brought against them.

Those suing claim the company provided false advertising since it could not be proven that Airborne actually helps prevent colds.

Then in late 2006 the Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI), a non-profit advocacy group, joined the suit as co-counsel against Airborne. Later in 2007 the FTC and some attorney generals began investigating the cold-preventing claims as well.

The CSPI said the Airborne company will have to refund money to consumers who bought its product, and it will pay for advertisements in large publications with instructions on how to get refunded.

Often people request a particular rotation due to the TIME also. Some of us have requested APL because it's the 8PM seating...a half hour head start on 'digesting' time before the late night activities & treats!

On a normal itinerary, GENERALLY, adults only groups are seated at the last rotation (LAP) of each seating (early and late). There tend to be fewer children on that rotation.

The rotations we've been discussing are all requests, won't know for sure what we get, till we check in. I'm betting the APL rotation will be chock full of DISers! :thumbsup2

.

Jackie,
Did you request a certain time for our dining? Just curious.

I just called and requested 6:00 seating and they said that it is APL. He did say that you aren't guaranteed to get the seating time you ask for but you probably will.

I got the medical form from Disney Cruise for our deaf family. (I think for interpreter I don't know why I have to fill in) Had it for 3 cruise.

I went along to the doctor reception for the doctor to sign it. I left it and come back. While two weeks ago I took my son Keith to see the doctor because Keith have wart on the finger also trouble eater (refused to eat any fruits and veg) and he have trouble tummy!! Reception told me that my doctor will charge me 32 pounds for sign it!!:scared1: Lucky, I have an appointment with another doctor as she was signed the form for last Cruise with Med. So I took the form and went along to see her. Guess what she signed it and didn't charge me at all. I walked away with it.

Thank goodness you had someone else to go to!

If you have lumier's on a night that isn't formal do you dress nicer than you would at the other restaurants? If so, what would you wear?

Pj, did you get much snow last night? We really got dumped on, and because there was freezing drizzle in the middle of the storm, it sure is heavy. I spent an hour shoveling this morning and just came in from another hour of shoveling. The sun has been out all afternoon, lovely day except for all the snow:rolleyes: It has made my driveway slippery though, I went right down after slipping on some ice, boy did I pop back up quick! No way I was even going to consider I might have broken something, I need this cruise! Anyway, all is well, but I can already feel how stiff I'm going to be tomorrow:sad2: I'm ready for spring...more snow expected tomorrow and Friday though.

Kathe

Here in my area on Monday March 3 we got hit with a tonne of snow. In some areas it added as much as 70cm (that's 27.6 inches). At my house we got over 1 foot of the stuff.

This more than doubled the old record for snowfall at this time of year which was set back in 1950. Oh and yes, the schools still remained open. Some busses were cancelled so some kids didn't have the ability to attend, but classes did run as per usual.

This just after our Provincial government has instituted a carbon tax to help fight global warming ... :rolleyes1

hmmm, we usually request and get the 6:00 seating which is LAP. I can't remember if my request is LAP or for 6:00. Wonder if they often change it and if not, why they would for this cruise.

I'm not sure but the guy that I spoke with was more than helpful and even offered me info that I didn't ask for. Maybe someone else could call that wants to request a certain seating time and verify. I know I don't want to be at dinner with a lot of people that don't have kids. :scared:

whew! All caught up.

John, here I don't believe it is the community that has issues with the schools and paying for education. However we have a system that is so top heavy, even when giving more money to the schools, it never really trickles down to the kids in the first place.

I would gladly have someone such as yourself involved in our school board, because then I would have much more faith in it.

I have seen the teacher's Union, the schools and the school board make so many decisions I can't understand, that I have been quite tarnished to the whole system and it would take alot for me to "come back". And all the while it is the kids that suffer.

When I was growing up the school was the focal point of all my activities. Now it has just become "that thing you go to during the week amongst your life". Thankfully, my daughter loves going to school and I don't have too many complaints about her school specifically, but I just don't feel she has the same sense of belonging to something bigger that I did when I went to school. And that is truly sad.

But having said that, it is time for me to get back to work. Gotta earn that paycheque if I want to buy my new dSLR camera soon, now that it has finally been released!!

We always get the 5:30 time with APL.
