Molly is doing I think 2 this summer. 2 weeks at Sons of Norway camp near Tahoe, Norweigan culture, dancing, lanuage etc...

Then Daybreak Camp in Felton, one week. It's owned by our church.

Perhaps a girl scout camp, we haven't looked at them yet, but will need to soon they fill up fast.

I'm going to have a peaceful summer, no fighting kids!!! Now if I could get little brother to go too!!!! (he might go to Norway camp too)

Wonder if there is any camps the girls could do together through scouts. Even taylor could go. We have a girl in our troop who only does the camps and a few other things. As long as she pays the $10 a year to scouts she can go to them.

I decided today that I wanted to do some advanced payment for our onboard charges.

I sat down today to do a projection of our onboard charges for the trip, thinking through the trips, the excursions and how much we might spend on extras, Palo, trips to Cove and fruity-fatty-boozy drinks.

I opened my eyes, having realized that I was lying on the floor because I had passed out from the projected amount.

I dutifully called DCL and put my money down. There was then a sharp noise in my ear, and I was lying on the floor. I had passed out again and the phone was off the hook.

So, this has been a thrilling day. Ordering tuxedos, prepaying fruity-fatty-boozy drinks and taking cheesecake photos of Mrs. Bennett.

.

Thats what I am going to be doing. I will have the tips and the excursion money, a photo package, and a mad money amount already on my account. I hope I can then get off the ship without a bill beyond what I have paid. the numbers are staggering though I agree.

:lmao: :rotfl: We have many stores now that are offering the "service" of letting us scan and bag our own items. No discount for doing that, so I am :confused3 why would I do that?? KMart, WalMart, Fred Meyer (our local everything under one roof, now owned by Kroeger store) all have self scan available. But, until they give me at least a bit of a discount I will take let then ring it up and bag it for me! :)

I use the self check outs if I have less then ten things and I want to whip through them quickly. Saves me the time of standing in the longer lines.

it was mostly sleepaway camps and day camps on this side of the bridge. There were alot of YMCA camps that have the option of day or sleep, but they were too far for daycamps, so they'd be sleep away. Taylor wants to try sleepaway this year. I found a bunch of interesting YMCA camps and one other sleepaway that was expensive, but the owner gave me a little break on the price. I have a week to think about it. It's 2 weeks and includes surfing as an activity. Taylor seemed really interested, but I just paid my bills and  don't know if it will be in the cards. I keep having to remember that I will have to pay my onboard account too. I have the dreams credit, but that won't cover excursions and tips. I have saved some money for this cruise, but now I am thinking maybe I would use it for a week at sleepaway? Anyways, my point...no disneyland afterwards for us. It's just not in the cards. I hope you and nan have fun, but we'll have to save up for summer camp!

Jacinda (9 years old): she is the stair runner, anything that needs to go up or down the stairs she takes, she puts dishes in the sink, she runs the folded clean clothes upstairs and puts hers away. Her room is to be cleaned 100% each night before bed. There is to be nothing on the floor as I vaccuum each and every morning and anything that is on the floor ends up in the Dyson canister. She is supposed to make sure there is nothing belonging to her in any room in the house except for hers. That's about it.

Dominic (4 years old): He puts away his clean clothes and he cleans his room each night before bed.

As long as the kids have their rooms clean I will do the rest. They are really good about cleaning their stuff up and actually race at night to see who cleans their room faster. My son loves to be able to yell I WIN I WIN!

Holy Moly! You vacuum every day!?!?!

I do vacuum everyday. It is not too bad once you get used to the idea. Honestly some nights I do the vacuuming after the kids are in bed instead of the morning. My daughter has a loft bed in her room and I vacuum right under her and she never wakes up at all! With my allergies and my kids too it makes it a bit better for us in the house. Plus I just like it really clean thus why I have the kids clean up each night. They both have Pottery Barn Kids wall units in their rooms with canvas "buckets" in them. They know every toys has a certain spot to be and even the four year old picks everything up and puts it in the proper spot.

Marr,

I like the term mad money. In my case, considering how much I set aside it was more like lunatic money!

Not quite sure what I was thinking, but if I live up to it, you should all find me passed out in a deck chair for 15 days, surrounded by empty glasses of fruity-fatty-boozy drinks (at least the little umbrellas will provide a form of shade).

Actually I feel much better knowing that it is all taken care of. I just want to really enjoy the cruise and not have sticker shock at the end (and fruity-fatty-boozy drink remorse).

I wonder, how much do people allocate for photos? I haven't set any money aside for them.

Lisa (Calmom) let me know if you want to take the lead on setting up a basic powerpoint for the kids or if you would like me to. I can't remember if you said you were good with powerpoint or not...if you are good with powerpoint, I'll gladly let you take the lead on this one:goodvibes . Jaide is pretty good at doing powerpoint on her own so I would just let her set it up and I'd help her add all the other kids into it. I think each of our kids are going to have a project to remember!

I think what might work is what someone suggested, and now I can't remember - maybe John, but anyway - what if each child made one slide that told about themselves (siblings could use one slide) and then we can email each other that slide? Each family would then make their own powerpoint. On the cruise, the kids could meet one day to compare "info" and such - perhaps share some slides. I'm not sure exactly how to gather up all the one pages... I do know it is fairly easy to send a powerpoint page and add it to your own presentation. That all being said, if you would like to spear head this, that would be great.

Yea, we used to get them as we walked in the front door at the bottom of the elevator. Not this time. I don't know if it will stay this way or if that was just for the one time.

What is SW?

Southwest Airlines. In December they gave them to us at the door/escalator.

OMG, you are a much better mom than me. Can you come teach my kids?

Pictures are a must that way I could reflect on the great time we had and besides I need enough pictures to scrapbook with.

DH has given me the day off he rode bikes with the DK to the park and now he's been playing Monopoly for hours with them....how sweet is he:lovestruc My DK love boardgames monopoly, life, sorry, uno, chess, checkers, trouble, battleship...etc...etc...hope they have boardgames in the kids club or somewhere on the ship:confused3

BTW my email has been down so if there is any emails sent to me regarding fish teams, lanyards, etc...I did not get them I think I've done my part but if there is any new info just pm me..thanks.

Tough night here in DC. I was so excited to finally get to see my girls preform in Footloose tonight. It is the 4th of 6 shows. Gretchen made me feel bad for not coming to the first 3 shows.

Well frank has taken another bad turn with 104 fever and high blood pressure. They decided they wanted to run a battery of tests on him tonight and they thought it best if a family member be here at the hospital with him.
Well DH just can't be here cause he is the director and his brother said he is just to busy cleaning tonight (?????) So it looks like me.

My girls are just going to kill me. There are two shows tomorrow... But I really wanted to go tonight.

Erma Bombeck wrote about women like her! Makes us all look bad. :sad2: :rolleyes1

Well some people worry about their underpants being clean and fresh in case of an accident. I worry about my house. What would my family think if they had to come to my house right now and sort through my belongings? Crazy sounding I know but my house being clean makes me happy.

Plus it is so much easier to maintain a clean house then having to spend hours doing a deep clean on a dirty house. Which is why it may sound nuts my kids clean their rooms every night, the fact is they are never really "dirty" so it is not a big deal and not a fight between them and I.

So for me keeping the house clean is the easy way out. :thumbsup2

molly keeps talking about locks of love, but it makes me so sad to think of her losing her long hair. loss of innocence.

What a tremendously generous action!

Southwest Airlines. In December they gave them to us at the door/escalator.

when we went they gave us our number as we entered the building.

Then it was probably a one time thing on my cruise......they were running late that day. They wouldn't let us in until past 10:30am close to 11. The CMs said that normally they will let you in at 10am, but that they were just delayed that day. So that must be why we got them on line and not at the front door. Mystery solved!
