Some places around here are starting to go back to paper bags instead of plastic. Some towns have actually banned the use of plastic bags.

There is a store here that charges 5 cents per plastic bag. They have always done that since they opened up. In addition you get the benefit of having to bag your own groceries. They say that it results in savings that they pass on to the consumer, but truthfully I don't find their prices that much cheaper.

We have some towns that have gone plastic bag free though what they do for clothes buying I'm not sure. I can't remember what used to happen before all the plastic bags as I am sure we didn't just put new clothes in our shopping bag with all the other things.

I would say we are being conned in all this, but as I agree with the reasons we just have to go along with it. We don't have the option of brown bags though it would be good.

Why don't they make recyclable plastic bags?

Hi

Do you have Marks and Spencer in your area? Just wonder because some worldwide have it.

I saw one in Singapore and it was very expensive than my home:scared1:

Didn't see one in Australia, not sure about Amercia?

I haven't seen or heard of it here in Canada. But here we also have some very regional stores. Out west here our big grocery store is called Save-On-Foods which used to be known as Overwaitea.

So just because I haven't heard of it, doesn't mean that there aren't some out East. PJ might be able to tell you out there.

Well that tells you how much I know!! I just did a search and found M&S and was assuming it was a grocery store by the way you were talking and found out that it is more like a department store. LOL

Our M&S have wonderful food departments. Things are much more expensive but great quality. Unfortunately for our wallets it is on our route to and from town, so I just have to pop in and buy their food.:lmao:

Deb, fyi, mine hasn't showed up yet. I'm checking every day and will let ya know when it arrives. :goodvibes

It's coming UPS ground.....I have tracking numbers, so I'll track it and let you know when it should arrive.

We have gone back to paper bags. We always request them. Personally I hated the plastic carrier bags and how they flew all over the trunk. I forgot how much more stable the paper bags were and how much more capacious there are. The net net is we have fewer bags and they stay put in the trunk.

Having said that, we recently bought our our reusable cloth-esque bags at our supermarket. They were only 10 cents each, have handles. Makes for few bags and easier to schlepp in from the garage.

No we are meeting a Fishlips at 5:30. It's next to Grills and the Raddison will take you there free.

We stayed at the Raddison 2 years ago. It was nice but we wanted the extra room this year. I am hoping that someone else is also staying there.

Oh sorry, I think it was Linda, her daughter Jamie (Seasaulter)

Thankyou!! I found them!!:)
