Well I didn't put my phone number on the email so guess I won't get one then. An acknowledgement that they read it and are actually doing something would be nice. (Plus a bottle of champagne in every SR for good measure!!!:lmao: )

With all the trouble we've caused them over this cruise, I'm not sure I'd drink anything DCL gave DISboarders for free! :rotfl2:

For those that have PM'd to be on a fish team but have not been placed on a fish team - I will be PMing you and asking what you would like to spend. Please don't take offense - I'm just going to try to match up "like" minds - so someone who wants to spend $40 is matched with others in that budget, those that want to spend $100 are matched with others in that range...etc. I know money talk is sometimes "rude" so please don't take it that way!

By the way, you are all in for so MANY treats!! Everyone has great ideas.

Some teams are thinking of giving gifts like this:

Children only in the cabin and for those cabins that don't have children, they would get one of the items. So, a family of 5 would get 3, a family of 2 would get 1, singles would get 1...etc. Make sense? Would anyone be offended if their children got something but they didn't?? Just want to make sure no feelings are hurt. Obviously those with many children do well on this....gee wonder who thought of this idea??? :rotfl: Just kidding!

Was skimming through some old posts and saw this. A few years ago I picked up a 10 foot flat extension cord from CVS. Works great for CPAP, etc., lies flat on floor and packs very compactly. Was only about $5 too and has 3 outlets, so great for recharging plugs too.

WE've been boarded by yet another EBer!! pirate: Hello, Tom!

Nan, I hope you're feeling better today. I certainly can relate to those awful migraines. I actually had one start last night, thought it was because I hadn't eaten much (thus the pizza delivery), but it's still here this morning. Horrible sleep because every time I rolled over in my sleep, the throbbing would wake me up. I feel your pain sister!

yes, that seems to be my case too. When I start to feel sick or if I'm in my work haze I blow off food. Then I've gone too long without and get sick. it's a cycle a bad cycle.

:scared1: I got about two hours of sleep and never worked so hard in my life. I need a vacation!

We were going on a cruise. Our stateroom was the oddest layout of any room I have ever seen in any place. It was not cleaned up, the beds were unmade, food wrappers were lying around, empty wineglasses abounded, a cigar butt was on top of a dresser and there was a cheese tray sitting on a table that had been there long enough for the cheese to get crusty and all the crackers were gone.

There were three doors to the room and people kept walking in the two that connected to a party room and used our room for a place to chat or snack. In spite of this my sons were sleeping. I had no idea where my Daughter-in-law was.

When I tried to get someone to assist me, I discovered people on deck, in the dark, lining up to get off for an excursion through a factory. It made sense at the time, but I think it was a factory that made ICEBERGS. Children were getting separated from their parents and no one seemed to mind except me.

I could not find DH no matter where I looked.

I do not want to cruise on THAT line again!!

Jan :earsgirl:

Was this a dream or a nightmare???

Every time I empty a suitcase for another trip, it seems I find a bag of Disney pins. I bet I have loads of them. I thought I was going to collect them, then I thought I would do some kind of shadow box frame with them, but ultimately, they just sit in bags. The only real souvenirs we have that are always out are our pictures.

yes I have lots of pins too, in bags. perhaps we will trade one day, then I can have your bags and you can have mine. :lmao:

Venetia, we see you lurking! ;)

Shoot, I'm busted. Yes I'm lurking. I actually logged on and saw that even though I was pages behind page 200 was coming up and knew that a pirate would be captured at the end of the page. I'm now going back to catch up.

Way to go Angie. Pirate Ye Be.pirate:

I figured you were probably busy catching up.

By the way, I told Tyler about Bubba's matching Mexican shirt and he thought that was pretty cool! Especially since we're almost neighbors onboard! :thumbsup2

GIVE NOTHING BACK!!!

My father was the one who made the comments in my family....I remember many a time I would go to pick him up at the airport and before he even said "hello" the words out of his mouth were "god, you look fat". So nice after not seeing him for weeks at a time. I've also had weight/self esteem issues since I was little.....I even have an eating disorder (doing ok w/ that now). I've always tried to excuse those comments as he is a latin man, and latin men do not think before they speak.

that doesn't make it ok. Just the same it's rude and hurtful. I don't understand why people sometimes give people a pass just because cultually they are rude. Hope that doesn't come accross mean to you Monica. I just hear this kind of comment all the time from the parents at wil & molly school and I reply that's crap. father's that talk that way should be taught to be better fathers.

and for the record, my dad also spoke in this fashion to my mom and sister. I was a skinny minnie until I turned into a workaholic (~25) so I never got it. But it's just as damaging listening to your mom and sister being told they are fat and therefore unwanted.:sad2:

ok, I am wiped out...the girls are trying to lie down quietly..maybe we can all catch a snooze!

Does anyone know if DCL does/would hold Weight Watchers meetings onboard? The only time I successfully lost weight was with Weight Watchers (which means I'd better start going again if I'm going to lose this weight before the cruise. 12 pounds to go). Anyway, DCL has the Friends of Bill W. meetings. I just wondered about WW since we'll be onboard for 2 weeks. Maybe that's the absolute last thing anybody wants to do on a cruise. :lmao: :lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Confession time about "Friends of Bill W". I went on my first DCL cruise with my sister. We kept seeing the Friends of Bill W meetings in the Navigator and kept commenting on how there must be some kind of reunion group on board. We even joked about wanting to crash the party some morning to see what it was all about. Wouldn't we have gotten a surprise. It wasn't until I got home that my DH just gave me that "duh" look and said that's AA. I can just imagine any fellow passengers who overheard my sister and I and thought what a couple of nitwits. :sad2:

That is good to know. I will mention it to DH. We'd like MIL to travel with us, but I know she'd use missing her meetings as a reason not to join us. This could be a solution.:yay:
