That might just be the best thing that ever happened to you.. You never know what wait ahead but it is almost always better than what was left behind.

Thanks - I can't catch up. Busy at work, and trying to wrap things up to fly out for the service.

DH and I had a long "discussion" and I usually win discussions (isn't that how it is suppose to work??) but this one sadly I didn't. He feels now strongly that leaving and spending the money for the cruise is not a good for us as a family. I totally am bummed, and am trying to deal with it. I will manage the fish teams as that will be so much fun, and I hope to see many pictures. But I am calling Disney to cancel. I will miss meeting you all, although I'm certain many of us will meet on future cruises. I will still stay on the boards if you all don't mind and live my vacation through you guys!!! And you all be sure to have a DOD for me on May 16, the Panama Canal day!!

What a bummer, I am so sorry to read this. Deck 2 won't be the same without you. I hope you will be able to start planning another trip soon. We appreciate any help you give us with the fish teams.

Sometimes I sit here and tell myself it would. I won't go into any details, but on some days I have become that unhappy at work. The demands keep growing, the pressure keeps building, and the respect keeps diminishing. It is very hard though after 31 years to think about this.

Hi All....I've been sleeping, elevating and catching up on my tivo recordings. Gotta get ready for next week adding Big Brother plus Survivor plus Lost.

I've been reading when I can and I was ecstatic when I saw that Holly was PIF and that she and Tyler will definitely be on the boat. I was so happy it brought tears to my eyes.

Then I'm reading about Lisa/calmom's grandmother and feel so much empathy for her. Continuing to read I see that she will not be on the boat with us but will be sailing with us in heart. I nearly teared again, but this time in sadness.

We all feel the gain and the loss because you are both part of our family. So happy and so sad all on the same day.

Popped back over here V . . . in the rush to get to the airport, she said she forgot to call you last night, and had told you she would. She was also supposed to call me when she got to Detroit to transfer planes - no phone call.

We are awaiting a phone call tomorrow when she gets to the Philippines.

I have three pages of instructions!

When my boss found out I was taking a few days off, he was not happy today. He has been a real bear lately. While I have a lot of things on my plate, that is the norm, and there is no help on the horizon.

Thank you V, our kitchen is friendly, but not nearly as friendly as the cook friendly eaters. I am just reading about your car way back and cringing. Last night we were both actually just really tired. I went to bed earlier than I usually do, and slept like a log.

I am so sorry for everyone else that I am reading is dealing with illness or death with friends and family. Our prayers are with all of you. So much happens in one day here - it is absolutely amazing, and I thank all of you for sharing.

I will tell Amy Kim, she is hoping to get on the Boards when she is at the hotel. I don't know about pastels though . . . think I will go with black for that "Goth" Marilyn Manson look.

someone posted (sorry can not find the exact post) about staying at one one of the value resorts prior to the cruise and mentioned taking the bus to the port. Just wanted to make sure you realize you have to travel with all your luggage to another resort to catch the cruise bus.

On our december cruise we stayed at POP Century for 2 nights then took Magical express back to the airport and checked into the Hyatt for Friday night. That was cheaper than staying in another resort that has cruise pick up at it.

We will most likely be doing the same thing again.

Whoa. No I did not realize this. No one has said anything to us (including our TA). We have been going under the assumption that the cruise bus will pick us up at the ASMovies just like it did when we stayed at the Caribbean Beach last time and that we wouldn't have to worry about our luggage. When we stayed at the CBR a porter came and got our luggage early embarkation morning for the cruise ship and we didn't see it again until we got on board the ship. I had assumed it was the same thing as we have the transfers and all.

I will be asking my TA to confirm this, otherwise we are changing hotels for sure.

They do have an assortment. It is dark,milk, soft centers, and nuts & chews. Or you can get the soft centers which is both D&M or N&C's which is both D&M. I am a dark person now, like Pj says, I switched camps a few years ago too.

Cool I'll go with these then - and probably some of the chocolate lollipops.

same for us - I am budgeting $800 so I have at least a little extra to give.

good plan. I have to admit I'm terrible at budgeting for on board expenses. I bring my credit card and deal with it at check out. Terrible I know. Perhaps I will look into prepaying tips that would make that last check out bill not as big.

Hi guys!
Sorry I've been absent for so long. We've been really busy working so that we can PAY for this cruise! I miss keeping up with the thread, but GEEZ 155 pages in the last few days. How can I keep up with that???

OK, just a few questions:

This is the first time we're using the online service to sign up for shore excursions as castaway members. I just realized we hadn't even put our castaway numbers into the online system. I called the cruiseline and got everyone's number. We HAVE paid in full, so that's not a problem.

Here's the issue. We have 4 cabins. I started with "mom's" cabin. There's a tab for Castaway Club, which I clicked and entered Mom's castaway number. Now she's showing up as a castaway member, BUT only her number is showing up in the system. It won't let me imput any cabin member's numbers under the profile. Does this mean I'll only be able to sign up Mom for shore excursions under that log in?
Do I have to make seperate users for each person in the cabin, including the kids??

OR do I only need one cabin member to show up as a castaway member in order to book everyone's excursions for the cabin tomorrow night?

SO CONFUSED!!!!


I'm also have the problem about getting our luggage from the resort to the port. We're staying at Pop Century the night before the cruise, but of course the cruise bus doesn't stop at any of the value resorts- DOH! What a gimmick! DH is going to call and see if our luggage can all get shipped to one of the non-value resorts instead of to our own, since we won't really need the luggage for the few hours we're at the resort anyway. It will be hard enough getting my whole group (plus carry on bags) moved from Pop to the cruise bus stop.


My other issue is that I'm not sure how we're getting from the cruise to our airports. Half of us are flying out of Burbank and the other half are going out of Long Beach, but DCL is only providing transfers to LAX, so we had to cancel our DCL transfers and now we're in need of some kind of party bus or something to transport all of us plus luggage. OOOPH. My relaxing vacation is certainly causing me a lot of stress before we've gotten onboard. I'm going to need extra DoDs!!!!

Hi Gina we have missed you. Glad to hear you are well and PIF.

I suggest that you call DCL first thing in the morning to get this stuff dealt with on your CC numbers. The rest of the transport you can work out, but you need your CC access for tomorrow!!!!
