when is the scrapbooking class?

I am re-posting the info since our other thread is closed:

THE OFFICIAL DISBOARD SCRAPBOOK CLASS FOR THE PC CRUISE

DATE: MONDAY, MAY 12TH

TIME: 12 NOON - 1:30 PM

PLACE: TBA

DETAILS: Each person will be making an 8 x 8 scrapbook themed to our Panama Canal Cruise. I have purchased the 8 x 8 books (they are the same ones for those that went on the EB Med.) You have your choice of either Disney Red, or Lime Green cover. Karen is going to come over to my house at some point and we will work on designing the pages that you will receive. When you get to the class you will receive all the materials and embellishments needed to do your book as well as instructions for the book. Each book is 14 pages total I believe. The cost for the book and the materials is $10 so it helps towards the cost of materials only. The only thing you need to bring to the class is a) yourself and b) your own favorite adhesive. Personally I use Scrapbook Adhesive Brand that I get at my local craft store for $5. It is a double sided scrapbook sticky tape in a dispenser approximately 28 feet in total length. That will get you through the whole book. If you don't have adhesive, or don't want to go buy it, then just let me know and I will pre-buy yours for you and send over to the ship with all the other stuff that I ship ahead of time (usually about 3 boxes of stuff). Then when I get on the ship, everything is in my stateroom.

Now, when this thread started, I took a list of names of those that wanted to scrapbook. However, I know there have been so many changes and updates, so here is what I'd like to do. For now, just PM me with your real first name and then tell me whether you want to do a red or green covered book. That way I can ship the right colors ahead of time. Also, if you want me to buy your scrapbook adhesive and reimburse me later, let me know so I can plan on buying that too.

DEADLINE: Yes, there will have to be a deadline so I can get everything to Florida and have everything pre-packaged for everyone. So, let's tentatively set April 25th as the date for the cut-off. I always make a few extras because we have last minute sign-ups and I hate to turn anyone away but let's go with April 25th.

Any questions, ask away, and if anyone has scrapbooked with me before on the ship, feel free to add any comments or suggestions or feedback (whether positive or negative) on the class.

Remember, everyone is welcome, whether you are a beginner or expert! Scrapbooking is easy (I am not going to do anything really difficult that is hard to understand). I have found that when someone has gotten stuck that another person at the same table has just jumped right in and helped the other disboard member with their book too.

Hopefully, everyone will have their book completed and all you do after the class is add your pictures from the PC cruise! You don't have to worry about bringing any pictures to the class.

I will occasionally put in updates and list those that have signed up to remind everyone about the class.

HAPPY SCRAPPING!

How in the world can you guys fill 85 pages in 3 days!:scared1:

If anything important came down, will someone please PM me so I'm still in the loop? Thanks!

My house guest just left. In an hour I'm going out to meet some friends, get my nails done and do a few errands. Tomorrow I'm taking a friend in for some outpatient surgery. Sat. I'm going down to Phoenix to a seminar with Allison DuBois (inspiration for the show "Medium") and I'll be staying down there for a few days with my sister. Sat. night I'm doing my share to help with reservations for my DDDD+? (can't remember the last letter, is it another D?) group. Jackie, I'm doing brunch, right?

So I'll try to check in from time to time, but there's no way I'm going to be able to keep up! Just wanted to tell you that I got my res changed to DU and I'm now

PIF!!
:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

It's a reality now!

Bye for now!!:goodvibes

Paid in Full - great!!:thumbsup2 Sorry about all the chatter.;)

I called the doctor's office at the wound care and got an appointment for Monday morning.....so I'll be going back there again and we'll see what the doctor says about the cellulitis returning and is this going to continue again and again and why and how do we keep it from happening. I have so many questions and I'm completely bummed about the whole thing returning. Good thing we caught it early.

Better to go see the doctor Deb. So sorry you are dealing with this again - it is obvious you are down at the moment ans I'm not surprised. Plenty of time to heal before the cruise, but good to get advice.

Not only is it an addiction, but (atleast for me) it's also having to go back to real life :sad1:

Yes, but at least your real life is close to WDW.
And not far from Port Canaveral.

(There isn't a smilie for 'jealous' is there?!)

I don't suppose you're doing t-shirts with your logo on, are you?
My DH has just seen it and says he'd like a shirt with it on.

I hadn't thought of ordering anything from over here. How much was the postage?

For all items (except Stickers, CDs, single Button, single Magnet, single Greeting Card)
$7.00 first item, then $4.00 per additional item

Orders that contain ONLY Stickers, CDs, single Button, single Magnet, single Greeting Card:
$4.00 first item, then $0.50 per additional item

But knowing my luck, I'll get hit for VAT, import duty, and - if it comes via the Post Office - their ridiculous £8.00 admin charge.

Hi everybody! No time to read or post, just popping in to say HI! Will catch up after I drop Tyler at his dad's today. Our storm held off so school wasn't cancelled, but it hit around 10am and is HORRIBLE. There will surely be no school tomorrow, but he's at his dad's, so no snow day for me. That's OK....can't really afford to miss work anyway. At least if I get the new job, I'll have paid personal time. I never mentioned that deal, did I? He asked me what I wanted to get paid and I told him my ideal rate and the amount that I wouldn't take less than (which was also more than what I make now), and he said that's NO PROBLEM. He told me I'd also get insurance (including vision & dental), paid vacation, paid sick time, paid personal time, because their office considers anything over 32 hours/week full time.

PLEASE KEEP YOUR FINGERS CROSSED FOR ME! He told me he'd let me know either way in a week, which is tomorrow, so I'm getting nervous. We definitely need insurance now. Big time. Yes, Tyler's covered under his dad, but if we had a secondary, that would reduce the out of pocket expenses.

Super busy today. I'm filling in for somebody who called in and her guys work lots! Lots to do makes the time go buy quickly, so I'm happy. MAJOR migraine because of the weather change, but I'll get through. :)

Hi Everyone!!

I am behind in reading (about a week), so I am going to jump in....I am really having problems with one of my son's schools....

Is anyone with High Schoolers having problems with getting off of school, I really would like to know what's going on in other schools across the country!!

They have a big problem here with parents not sending thier kids to school, so they have wonderful rules, but then for me, who's kid goes all the time.....we get hit by the same policy. Unexcused absence means the work for the day is a big fat zero! He is on the honor roll, good kid.

HELP!!

Hi

We are from Scottish.

About School, THAT EXACTLY SAME AS US, we feel it so unfair too.

there are new rules, start last month. My childrens Keith and Olivia are in Primary School, they always go all times, never be late just like your.

Last year, I asked Head Teacher that it was okay for us to booked the Panama Canal, she was saying that should be okay (but I never told her that 3 and half weeks). Last month, I wrote a letter to her for the permission, turn out NO :scared1:

Last Monday I went back and want to speak to Head Teacher and she told me that must need the letter to approve it. She advised me that at my work, I see my line manager to get the letter that I cannot get off in Summer holiday (which is true). I am working through the summer holiday. Because I booked the May holidays and other staff had booked their summer holiday and it was full booking in summer peirod. So my boss will write a letter then school will be approve it. Finger Cross as the school said that not their fault as Scottish Executive start it last month.

(Too many people take their childrens out of school in May and June for cheaper holiday. I pointed out that it is not cheaper holiday and also good history and culture for my childrens to learn about Panama Canal).

I hope you manage to sort it out.

We have 2 cabins on the eastbound Repo Cruise. I came over to post on your thread to see if there is anyone interested in swapping DCL gifts. (Hopefully there will be another lithograph! I need to hang some more pictures in my spare room!!!)

On the 11-night Southern Cruise we received a cute lithograph. We received 2 that were the same since we had 2 cabins. So we swapped with a Disser that had 2 cabins and identical lithographs from the 10-night Southern Cruise.

I decided to post a request early because by the time we return from our Repo cruise in Sept, there may not be too many people posting on the May Repo thread.

Anyone interested?

I could start a list and see if anyone else from the August Repo is interested.

Just send a PM.

Thanks!

Michelle

What a cool idea! Sorry I'm a solo and can't help you out but I think we have a couple of two cabin folks.

You can sit at the bar and order it - no charge, or like I do and get one to go.

Can you do that???? OMG!!

I do! They tell me not to tell but you know they do it for others too.

Right, we need a Palo chocolate souffle club LIST!!!!!!!

We can all go along and order one to go!!:lmao:

Well, I think we just need to mosey up there for a bottle of Rosa Ragale and dessert at the bar!! Ladies late night indulgence :thumbsup2

Last year on the Med. thread, someone mentioned about a portable storage device. I didn't want to take my laptop across the world, so I checked into it and bought it for $99. IT IS AWESOME. It is an I/O Magic Storage transfer device. It must weigh 2 pounds (if that). And it is about 7 inches by 4 inches by 2 inches high. Anyway, I didn't take my laptop and every day I just downloaded my cards right in our stateroom. We took over 4,000 pictures. Then when we got home, I just hooked it up to my computer and downloaded them all. It was great.

Here's the website if anyone wants to check it out:

OK...I WANT ONE!

that just reminded me of how we had our tour guide write out the street address for McDonalds in Shanghai in Chinese for us. On our last night my sister and I ditched the dinner and had McDs, it was an homage to our father. Must eat McDs in every foreign land we visit.
What a great tradition.

We've never eaten at a McDonalds in a foreign country, but they are reliable for a decent restroom.

I do hope you get this job Holly - sounds just right, and all you need! sorry about the migraine but I suppose you can relax this evening with Tyler being
at his dad's, so I hope it goes quickly.

Now isn't the chocolate souffle just made for rosa Regale?:)

My friend is Norcalmouse. He had to cancel as his soon to be ex changed her mind. She didn't like that she was not invited as he was just taking his kids. They have been separated over a year but it still was not ok and he must abide by her wishes of course. Kids do not know so that's a plus I suppose.
Too bad for Norcalmouse. So, his ex was upset she was not invited!?!

Does anyone know of any current Cafe Press coupon numbers to be used to get $$ off your purchase?

AND does anyone know how late in the game I can wait to order stuff? It's that old "will I be any thinner?" question.

Hi everyone,
So sorry if you have already talked about this.
I have been diligently checking the disneycruise website since I PAID IN FULL last week! :cool1: My credit card has been charged but I was wondering if my status will change at all on my reservation. Currently it says "booked", will it change at all?

Jolene

Nope, the DCL site will always just say booked. You can call them or your travel agent to make sure your final payment has been logged by DCL, if you are worried.

when is the scrapbooking class?

PM seaulater, we are doing a class at noon on the first (oh lord, is it the second?) sea day. $10 for supplies (or $15 if you want her to bring adhesive for you too).

If anything important came down, will someone please PM me so I'm still in the loop? Thanks!

You know I would!

Did you get it switched over in time for the juicy OBC or for the one they are doing now? Congrats!

FINGERS & TOES CROSSED HERE! :thumbsup2

Well, I've enjoyed catching up while eating the lunch that I PACKED this morning. I've devised the best 'dessert'. 10 almonds and one dark chocolate Dove Promise....it's good for you...honest!
