Greetings from Day 3! Another beautiful day, it is still windy(to put it mildly) but the sun is shining. Today I decided that it was time to exercise! I don't know why, but the blistering hot health center was calling my name at 7:30. I went up, got a treadmill overlooking the bridge with no problem. The seas were a bit rough that day so I remember staying on the treadmill was quite a challenge, but I wasn't the only one having trouble. After the workout, we got showered and went to Lumiere's for breakfast. Eggs Benedict again(my favorite) with the endless array of breakfast pastries. It was nice to take my girls to the fancy restaurant for breakfast because I never miss an opportunity for them to work on their manners. They did great! We rushed back from breakfast to head to the Mickey Pool before everyone else...... yeah right. Anyway, it was a zoo to say the least. We got a table under deck 10 so we were shaded. The girls swam a little but I have to say, swimming with that many kids with the water that rough was not easy. We again ate from Pluto's dog house. That chicken breast sandwich with the honey mustard was calling my name. And who doesn't love to eat greasy french fries sitting out in the hot sun in your bathing suit(he he he). The girls got hot dogs, chicken fingers. The guys who work at Pluto's always had a smile on their faces. And they were wonderful with the kids, as you'd expect. They really try to get the kids involved with ordering their own food which I like. Usually, a waitress at a regular restaurant will ask you what your kids want. Everyone on Disney treated my kids as though they were paying the bill....
For some reason, this day seemed more crowded than most by the Mickey Pool. The big girls wanted to go to their club in the afternoon for "So You Want to Be A Pirate?". They went around 12:45 and stayed until around 3 which was nice. The dad's decided that the little girls needed some down time so they took them to see Finding Nemo on the big screen. Yes, we have Finding Nemo at home and we have seen it 3000 times, and yes we even have a big screen at home, but there is something about sitting in a movie theater. Also- my little one had never been to the movies.... That said...the mommy's were left with no little ones, no big girls and no daddy's for the afternoon.....what are we to do????
We hightailed it to the adult pool, found ourselves 2 chairs and that is where we met Jamaica James. Only the BEST drink server on the ship. He was there with a smile on his face so bright. Anyway, I asked him if it was always this windy? I have been on 3 other cruises and I thought maybe my memory was failing already or the fact that I have kids makes things seem larger than they are. He mentioned that he had never seen it this windy for 2 straight days before. Anway, we ordered our Cuervo 1800 Margarita's on the rocks and off he went. AHHHHHHH, even if I blew overboard at this point from the wind, it would have been worth it. The adult pool(what little we got to experience of it) was tranquility! I can't understand how there can be so much noise at both the family pool and the Mickey pool yet absolutely nothing at the adult pool. It just goes to show that Disney has a little something for everyone. The pool areas were not as "glam" as the Grand Princess or the Celebrity Mercury but they had water in them and that works for me.
Now we had no one to bug us and what do we do, talk about the big girls and obsess over when the pager would go off. That is the curse of motherhood I guess! Anway, we enjoyed about an hour and a half of solitude(with drinks thanks to Jamaica James) and set off to pick up the big girls, but not before stopping into the shoppes. Mickey's Mates gives me Disney Anxiety. I swear I can talk myself into needing anything in that store. I feel like if I don't buy it here, when can I get it???? I didn't buy anything at this point. The girls had been saving their pennies and had saved $75.00 each so I would take them back individually to get their stuff. Back to get the big girls and to the room for the dinner get ready process.
When we returned, we were alone again! The Dad's came back shortly after us, carrying sleeping 3 year olds. Turns out, the movie is just what they needed. We had an in room happy hour every night, complete with Cheese Trays from room service. Note: If you have more than 2 people, order more trays. They are pretty small, we ordered 4 at a time
Dinner was in Animator's Palate tonight. We were all very excited about this. When we walked in, I new this was going to be a great dinner. Classical music was playing and the room was as you know all black and white. I had the Lobster and Shrimp wrapper, which was delicious . FYI It is served cold(I wasn't expecting that). I had the Caesar Salad and the Cheese Cannelloni which was amazing! For dessert I had a few things. Hey why not!-I had the cheesecake and the double fudge chocolate cake. The chocolate cake was ok, the cheesecake was great!
The light show was neat, nothing really spectacular, the girls loved it. I just loved the music and the atmosphere in there. We again were the last to leave the dining room. Our waiter Inyo did some magic tricks for the girls and Collin sang them a song that his mom used to sing to him. Very touching and really neat for the kids to experience!
After dinner, we went to the Promenade Lounge to dance. I don't know if I mentioned this in my day 2 but we really enjoyed this little section of the day. After dinner, before the show....The duo "High Society" was really good and the singer was really great with the kids. She'd come down and dance with them. After the first night, the floor was filled with little girls twirling their dresses. Then it was time for the show, Hercules the Muse-ical. My husband was dreading this bc the theater is so darn hot. Katie was acting up, she'd behaved way too long in my opinion so he took her back to the room. Hannah and I started to watch the show, it was really cute and quite funny. She said she was tired, and I figured we'd better leave before I ended up carrying her 45 lb sleeping body upstairs myself. So again, in bed by 9:30.....Fun people aren't we?
I know this is coming in slow but sure parts, but here is a link to my pictures from day 1 and day 2 on webshots. The rest are coming. It takes awhile to download them.
