MaxPass on a Party Night if I can't be there at 3...

I am attending the Halloween Party tonight and as much as I'd like to try to be at the front entrance by 2:30 for a 3:00 entry, work just won't cooperate. Is there any point in me trying to be there by 5 so I can do an hour of CAP or will all FP already be gone by then? I really wanted to try GOG but I know that changes over at 4:00 anyway - and I do not want to wait 2 hours in line to see the Halloween version.

I was hoping a Wed night in Sept would be less crowded but all the parties are sold out, so that means all parties have the same level of crowds.

Actually, even though they're "sold out", they aren't really.

Apparently Disney held back many more tickets this year to sell at the gate, and from what I understand from reading some reviews, it's MUCH less crowded than previous years (so maybe a more limited amount of tickets). The only one that is TRULY sold out is October 13th.

As for your question, I'm afraid I can't help there. Sorry! But I wanted to give you a heads up about the party attendance.

GOG does close at 4pm but doesn't reopen for riding as the Monsters After Dark version until 6pm, which would be during the start of the party. And FP for that will be gone via MaxPass and paper FP by 3:15pm (they release FP at 3pm for the Monsters After Dark version, but the ride doesn't open for standby or FP riding until 6pm), so getting a MP won't help you since you can't book the FP until you've scanned into either park with your party ticket, which will not be until 5pm. By that time all FP will be gone for MaD. Only way it would work would be for you to scan into the park right at 3pm, and immediately book the FP for MaD, but then you'd need to be in CA at 6pm to use your FP, and you'd miss party time!

But have fun at the party! We went Friday and it was really fun!!

Don't MaxPass. Waste after 3pm if you don't have a late night in the parks planned (and MP doesn't run during the party so you don't).

Interesting! I never saw it pop up on my last trip so I assumed they didn't have it, they just go FAST! The ride was a 180 min wait last Sat night, I can see why they go fast!
