MaxPass and Halloween ticket

As a first time visitor to DLR the end of September, my friends and I are going to take advantage of the getting into the parks early on the day that we have tickets for the Halloween Party (9/26). The question I have is would it be worth it to purchase the MaxPass for those 3 hrs prior (if we go to DCA) to get on popular rides (RSR, Guardians of the Galaxy Mission Breakout) or just "wing it" @ DCA and then go over to MK for the party?

We are planning a full day at DCA with MaxPass, so that is where my dilemma is on purchasing it for 3 hrs or just go without it and spend the time in MK before the party starts.

Last year, some MHP guests reported that their party tickets came with MP included. So I would wait until you get through the turnstile on your party date to test this out before purchasing MP. Why buy it if it is indeed already included in your MHP ticket? Also, thanks to the MAD overlay on GOTG, there was a MP rush for that ride just as the early MHP hours started. So be aware that even MP may not help you get a FP for that particular ride -- it might or it might not. Check the app for FP availability and return times before you get to the gates on your party date to see if anything you want to ride still has any FPs left.
Also, just for clarity and for any future searches you might do, while it is the original Magic Kingdom, Disneyland is DL. MK is at WDW.
By the way, have you read this thread: A DLR Guide for WDW Vets? Lots of helpful information there.

Agree with PP that MP may be included with the Halloween party ticket (that may be the easiest way for Disney to code in the free photo downloads too).

For Racers, FPs will absolutely be gone by then. You can try single rider, but A LOT of party people will also be doing that, so I would expect a long wait.

For Mission Breakout Monster’s After Dark, last year the FP distribution started at 3pm. Some Halloween parties didn’t start until 7, so with the 3 hr advance, people didn’t enter until 4pm, so FPs were either gone or not until later at night. If you are going to a 6pm party, then you should make sure to line up early to get the ticket and then book it into a park to get the FPs via MP.

Last year, Maxpass was included with the MHP ticket, but it only becomes active after you've used the ticket to enter the park (either park). I looked to see what attractions still have FPs at that point and most of the big ones in DL had already run out (they don't use FP during MHP in DL). Over in DCA, there were more FP still available (because the park was open later), many had times were already past the start of the party by the time I looked. So, you'll need to try to among the first guests to scan in with their MHP tickets if you want a chance at getting a FP for one of the "big" rides in DCA before the party starts (you can get FPs in DCA as long as that park is open). Unless you're going to the first party, I would wait to see what guests from the first party report.

Thanks everyone for the advise...

Since we are going to DCA for a full day another day during our trip, we may just go into DL and get on some rides before the party starts. That is kind of what we do when we go to MNSSHP at WDW. We usually can schedule 3 fastpasses before the party starts and get in some rides and dinner before the party "officially" starts. We also do a lot of trick or treating there because we have been to the park before, but I think this time we will do a lot of the other things like rides since we have never been to DL. We may do a little trick or treating just to get some snacks for the week (that is the frist day of our trip).

If you will be going to DCA on another day, I would probably stick to DL before the party. Last year DCA was mobbed in the 3 hours pre-party with everyone who decided to just do the Halloween party but wanted to see decorations at Carsland. With the "new" Pixar Pier, that could be even more pronounced.

Don't forget that they have a "pre-party" in Toontown the hour before the official party starts. Characters in costumes and some treat trails.

Thanks for the heads up about the "pre-party". We may do that instead!!!
