Max pass and ticket question

I am staying in an offsite hotel. When purchasing my tickets, I notice that the MaxPass option has early entry. Does this apply even if staying offsite?

Where are you seeing this? MP does not include the early entry perk, but 3+ day tickets purchased in advance (not at the ticket booths) do include a MM (one hour early entry to DL, FL and TL only -- MM for your dates would be 1/11 & 14). Could this be what you're seeing? MP does start working once you go through the gates during EMH/EE/MM. The return times won't be until after park opening, but you will be able to start getting FPs once your ticket is activated at the gate.
