Max Height or Weight on any Rides?

Hi friends.

As we're checking the height requirements for our young children, my husband asked a question I hadn't considered.... are there any rides that those of above average size can't ride safely or comfortably?

My husband is 6' 8" and 275 pounds.

Thanks!

I can't think of any where I know he won't be able to. However he would probably want to avoid the first seats in Space mountain. They don't have that much leg room so its a bit crowded for anyone that is either heavy or really tall. I don't he would have enough space for his legs.

The second and third seats your legs fit in a space to the side of the seat in front of you so there is more room.

My 6'3" DH has the same problem in the front row of Space, best to try the second or third.

I'm pretty sure the silly symphony swings in DCA have a weight limit of 250 pounds. DH doesn't quite weigh that much but it makes him nervous so he avoids them. :)

My husband is 6'1 and has a lot of problems with the leg room in astro orbiters.

My husband is 6'5" and 250 lbs. He can *just barely* squeeze onto Space Mountain and Screamin'. His knees touch the front of the car and the lap bar is pretty uncomfortable for him, but those are my two favorite rides so I make him endure it :)

That said, there are several rides at Knott's that he can't fit on - in fact on a couple of them we got all the way to the front of the line after waiting and had to leave because he just didn't fit at all, so Disneyland does a pretty good job about making rides more accommodating for everyone. With someone your husband's height, I'd worry about the legroom on Space and Screamin' like I mentioned. Luckily those are both Fastpass attractions, so you won't have to wait for an hour just to find out you can't ride if you use a FP.

My DH is 6'6" and 250 he has no problem fitting on any rides, in fact he's always pleasantly surprised that he fits as well as he does. My dad is 6'7" and around 275 and he's had no fit problems either.

Although I do agree with the PP who said the Astro Orbiter's is a tight fit, it is even for me and I'm 5'11" and 150lbs

He will be fine....

He will need to cross his legs on some attractions...

I am 6'6" and that has never been a problem. THere are no height limits and your DH is actually not that heavy compared to his height...

No problems except some tight fits. Space Mountain and Screamin will be tight on leg room... FOr sure take the bag for him on those...

My DH is also 6'8" and 275. He doesn't even try Space Mountain, Matterhorn, or Indiana Jones, which he says is the worst. While he can fit in Indiana Jones, there is sooo much jerking, and the back of the seats are hard and low, and it just keeps smacking him in the middle of his back. He ends up on Advil for the rest of the trip!

The only ride I would be concerned with is Astro Orbitor. I see plenty of lean, petite people having trouble getting off that ride. I usually let my kids ride alone and have watched many people struggle to get out of the vehicles. I've also seen CMs having to help people out...it's not pretty.

DB is 6'8" and although I don't know his exact weight, he is big guy. He wasn't able to fit into the seats on Space Mountain this last weekend (he was in the 3rd seat). He used to be able to so I'm thinking that they did a refurb at some point and squeezed the seats to be smaller which bites for him as it used to be one of his fav rides.
Related side note: I'm worried about what is going to happen to the Matterhorn when they do the massive refurb and they make each of the sleds contain 4 seats. There is no way that any of my family and I will be able to get on (we are all very tall with long legs: Me 5'11", DM 5'10", DF 6'4" and DB 6'8")

Other than SM, we have never had any problems with height restrictions although some rides like BTMR is a tight squeeze for all of us.

I am 6'4"/220 and I have a problem with the Pooh ride, Matterhorn(beats my knees to death) and the coaster that will be Goofy's Sky School. I am not as tall or heavy as others listed here but the above rides to cause me problems.

If you do the Casey Jr Circus Train, take an outside car, not a cage. DH is only 6'4" but he was miserable.

Hubby is 6'5" about 320 - could not fit on Space, Goofy's sky school's previous version and we are concerned that he will not fit into the new configurated seats on the Matterhorn.
