MAW upon a star "Florida, here we come"

Every time I go on the Buzz ride, I always think that I got a high score and then I get off and realize that my score really isn't that great. I remember someone saying that if you hit object that are higher or objects that spin that you would get a higher score. Let me check and see on my computer if I can find our picture from the ride. It is so funny because I am so into the ride and my ds is just sitting there and thinking "what is going on" lol....

Well, return to my TR! We have our hands full this summer so I don't have to sit and wait for this trip because I think about it all of the time! Even during our 4th of July fireworks was all I can think of is the Wishes fireworks and how wonderful it is!!!!!!
My mother booked her flight so I am really looking forward to her coming. She loves my kids like they were her own and not just grandchildren. Being that this is their first trip out of California that her help will be needed and appreciated. She is able to stay with us in the villa since she is traveling alone.
My luggage finally is tearing after 6 + years after our cruise so I think I better keep a look out for new luggage. We are hoping to bring maybe 3 bags and just 4 in case we need room for extra stuff to bring back.
I am a over planner so I feel like I may be already late with getting our clothes and plans all together. I am very thankful for our wish team especially one person in our team who has assured me that all details will work out and I always feel so bad when I call her with questions but always get a laugh out of her so I don't feel to bad.
Ok, question of the day.......which activities at the GKTW should we try and go to? I know we will use the horse back riding and we would like to use the pool and be there for the characters. I am just hoping that we can see the winter party and the princess and pirate party. Any one have any details on what happens at the parties.

Thanks

We only know about the Pirates and Princesses and Christmas.

P & P has the following:

Making cool princess or pirate crafts.

Getting coronated as princesses (Crowns) or signed on as pirates (Jack Sparrow hats with hair included and plastic sword).

Dancing with Shamu, Dolly the Dolphin and those other SW guys.

Christmas has gifts for each child (not just the Wish Tripper), pictures with Santa, Christmas crafts, Christmas lights and a Christmas parade with WDW volunteers in Christmas type costumes. There is usually "snow" blown from the roof of the Caring Center, but it rained hard on us, spoiling that.

Oh yeah, we also went to Safari Double Dare, which is mainly kids pieing each other or parents in the face. Not all that exciting.

Perhaps someone else has been to Mayor Clayton's Birthday or Candyland.

Well, we are at a stand still right now. I am trying to figure out which park to do the first day that wouldn't matter if I missed some stuff. We won't be at the park until noonish the day and will leave about 5 or 6pm. I would like to go to the animal kingdom and hope that we can see a lot in 5 hours or less. Will that work?

I am trying hard to not worry about to much but I have over 6 books from the dummy edition to the idiot of going to disneyworld and still seem to have no good tips, go figure!

I have a personal trainer who is helping me get in shape for the trip but seem to think that there will be a lot of stops no matter what because of the heat.

We already have plans for March to celebrate Victor's 5th birthday at disneyland so we are excited!!!!!!!!! It will be my MIL first trip to disneyland also so I can't wait to hear what she has to say about it.

Today, a yogurt store in our area sells the dole pineapple ice creame like the one from the tiki room and boy oh boy does that get me more anxious to go!

We did AK in 5 hours & did everything we wanted to.My kids HAD to go on Kali River Rapids & the only one with a change of clothes was my wish kid ! After walking around for a few hours in soaking wet clothes ,we were ready to leave.

Finally figured out how to "subscribe" to your thread! Looks like you are quite a planner...I can relate :rolleyes1 I'm looking forward to hearing about all of your adventures!

My Kirsta loves to go into the restroom and use the high power dryer. I think it's pretty gross looking the way it pushes your skin around! But I'm the dummy on the ride that has to wear the poncho:lmao:

Amber- Thank you for subscribing to this trip report! I will try not to make it to boring for anyone to read...lol I had to subscribe to yours because I need to read all of your planning. I wish that I could be more organized in my planning like you are. I can't wait to read your TR more tonight instead of just scanning it while the kids run around me in circles.

Sally- It seems like we will be going to disney world around the same time by the counters. What days are your trip? Also, I always have my poncho on the water rides and my dh always laughs that I put it on but I usually get the last laugh when he comes home and says he is in pain from the pants rubbing on him because they are so wet. I guess with the hot weather at disney world that we wont have to worry this time.

Lisa, once again thank you for starting my families big give project! I love surprises so I am glad that you banned me because I am always the one trying to take a peak and then I feel bad that I ruined the surprise.

Well, let see what I have been up to. I am still looking for costumes to wear for the mickey halloween party that will be cool because of the weather and I am still debating on weather or not to be like everyone and go as a disney character or try something different this year since we always are disney characters for halloween.

I found out that I put two reservations on the same day! I dont think that I will be able to walk in the park with two buffets...lol We have a 830 at chef mickey and a 255 at the garden grill. They do work out for the location but how can I enjoy two good meals so close together. We tryed to move chef mickey but was out of luck.

I seem to be so involved in disney world that I havent looked into sea world yet. I need to look more into my stack of books and turn to the pages of sea world. I would like to find out more about the eating with shamu. Also, I need to look into the parks map to see what we really want to hit first.

By the way, both kids now need glasses to wear full time. We are waiting for them to be made. Victor got a pair of disney company glasses and Sasha got a pair of Ariel glasses so I will have to take some pictures of them to show everyone our disney spirit! YEAH

Ok, I will stop my longggggggggggggg report right now and get back to surfing the web and planning more of the trip.

Nicole, I'm from the Disboutiqer thread and joined when your Wish was posted to our group. I've had so much fun reading everyone's pre trip reports. I'm going to have to do that next year for our trip.

I'm going Sept 20-29. I looked at your schedule and we are in the AK on the same day. When I'm done the kids outfits, I'll have to post it to you, so you can be on the look out for us.

I've sometimes made ressies for the same day. For the most part, we only eat 2 meals a day anyway becuase those buffets are pretty filling. I would probably show up at either Chef Mickey early, or Garden Grill late. I could almost bet it would not be a problem. I had broken my foot and was not allowed to walk for 7 months and spent that in a wheelchair. I thought I'd be good by vacation, but in addition to "learning" to walk again, my RSD (damaged nerve in my feet) had flared up. So at the last minute, my Mother came with me to help with Kirsta, since I decided to use a scooter. When I called, they had no room to add her to my ADR's, but when we showed up at the podium, it was never a problem. Even at the Castle.

We'll be doing the Halloween party on the 28th. We are all going as a group in "Hercules". My BIL always wants to be a villian, so he's Hades. Kirsta is Megara. My nephew is Herc and my sis and I are Pain and Panic.

Kirsta is actually my neice, but my Mother and I helped to raise her the first 2 years. My sister passed out after she had her and found an unknown heart ailment. A few months after her heart catherization, she had a Gall Bladder attack. So she was some time before was allowed to actually pick her up. Much to my joy, she fell in love with Disney and became my Disney travel buddy.

Sally-I loved reading about how your mother and you were able to take care of your niece! I love hearing about close families who help out one another. I couldnt even imagine how helpful to your sister. I hope that we run into each other in AK and say hi. I think that everyone says that AK is at the crowded on Tuesday. I was trying to plan out the non busy days but think it will be fine. Also, great idea for the costumes! We finally have a idea on what we will dress up as but I am waiting to post it before we leave to surprise everyone and get a picture at home with the costume once I am done making it.

Well, right now the kids are watching pinocchio and are watching all disney movies to get ready for the trip. I am reading all of the books on disney world that I got from our public library. I have books from the idiots guide to the dummies and going to disney world with kids and even the mature adults (for my mother to get her mad...lol j/k) The kids love watching youtube videos of the rides at disney world. It is fun watching the rides that are not at disneyland.

I am trying to figure out a budget for the trip which has NEVER happened on a vacation to disney! I didn't want to over due it this time since we went to disneyland in January and on the disney cruise in May and going back to disneyland in March with a annual pass to buy so I am not sure where to fit anymore mouse ears or any disney toys, clothes, or any disney souvenir. I need to keep telling myself that it will cost to much to have another bag for the airplane. Oh well, we have a play room for the kids so I guess that we can fit more stuff in there.

Well I am POSTING crazy tonight! I decided to put together a list for each park on rides and things we want to see so we can make the most of our time instead of wandering around fighting over what to do. So far I have finished AK park. I think that I will work on Hollywood tonight but will see what happens.

Our AK plans( I was trying to put it all in walking order but not sure how it will work)

Camp Minnie and Mickey
-Kids love to do the meet and greet!
-Festival of the lion king(Great place if it is hot with the air conditioning and looks like Sasha will love it with the roller skating and the gymnastic moves they do)
-Pocahontas and her forest friends(not sure yet how it will be-haven't seen the you tube video yet..lol)

Africa
-Kilimanjaro Safaris(Victor loves animals and really looking forward to this one ride! This ride has a fast pass if we need it)
-Wild life express train(Victor again loves trains!!!!)
Not sure if any of the + stuff will interest us or not
+Rafiki's Planet Watch
+Habitat Habit
+Conservation Station(Has air conditioning)
+Affection Section

Asia
-Expedition Everest(Not sure if Victor can go on because of his heart. This ride has a fast pass. For sure, Sasha and I and DH will go on and my mother may stay with Victor. I am also not sure on the height for Victor so I think he may take a breather and find some shade with grandma)
-Kali River Rapids(Fast pass friendly. Do we really need our ponchos with the Florida weather? Victor loves to get wet! I started the kids in swimming around 4 months old so they love water.)
-Flights of wonder
+Maharajah jungle trek

Discovery Island
-Tree of life
-Jungle Parade
+Tough to be a bug (The kids HATE this movie! Both came out crying at disneyland when Dh took them to see it while I had lunch. I think that I would have come out crying too because they were so upset.)

Dinoland USA
-Finding Nemo (Love watching shows)
-Tricerotop spin (Kids love dumbo ride so I think they will love this one)
+Dinosaur(This is up in the air because both kids hate dinosaurs especially Victor who got scared on the train at disneyland after he seen the dinosaur display and like I said earlier that he LOVES trains but was scared!!!! I may have to go on with Dh if we have time just for fun)
+Boneyard
+Dino Sue
+Fossil Games
+Cretaceous Trail
+Primeval Whirl will be close but looked fun

The Oasis
+The Oasis path

We always seem to miss half of AK. Camp Minnie and Mickey is fun. Do not miss Festival of the lion King. Awesome show.

DO NOT miss the Nemo show. You may have to go get a fast pass for this one.

Expedition Everest is awesome. It does bounce and jerk you around alot. I'd check with Victors Drs. on does and don'ts. Even though Renee had the heart trouble, she has been given the all clear.

Kali is short, but fun. I won'tget on it with out a pocho. I always have dozens of those cheap $1 ones from Walmart tucked away in pockets of all my jackets and suitcases.

Dino land is the favorite with the kids.

We also love the Safari. Do it early when the animals are out. And do itagain late in the afternoon, you'll see different animals.

We also love the Tree of Life and Bug.

Everything else, we just wait and see what will fit in theday.

What airline are you taking? DN is going to have a huge suitcase, even tho' he's only 3. That way any "flow over stuff" can fit in his bag. I know of alot of people that used to nest a suitcase (packed inside another) and they'd have one when they came home. But with the airlines now......... I guess that option is out.
