I just read your whole pretrip and I have to say first that your daughters are absolutely beautiful. I'm so excited for you guys.
I'm not sure if you'd gotten anything changed with your flight since you initially posted about your worry about a 30 minute lay over in charlotte. My FH and I live in Charlotte and fly out of CLT constantly. Additionally, my FH worked there and for US airways. The airport is definitely small enough to navigate through quickly, and is not complicated at all. He also says more than likely, you will be flying into Concourse B or E. E is more likely if it is an express flight. He also said you should be able to call US airways reservations about a week before your flight and they might be able to give you information on which concourse and gate your flights will be arriving at and departing from, so that you can plan accordingly. He also adds that you should tell reservations that you will be needing a wheelchair assist, and that you are MAW. The pilot for your connection can then make the decision to hold the plane if you are running late, but that that decision is at the pilots discretion as they are the ones who get in trouble if they leave late and there is nothing wrong with the weather/airplane.
As for lay out of the airport, there are a lot of restrooms along the main concourses. Concourse A is the only one that's really out of reach. But B, C, D, and E are all pretty close together. There are also several moving side walks, that if clear, you can walk across, to speed up your pace if need be. The cooridors are also wide to prevent walking traffic jams. If you have to cross over the food court, stay towards the windows where you can see the planes. There are kiosks in the center and then the dining and tables on are the other wall. That'll help prevent crowds slowing down your pace.
I hope that helps a little.
