Maui Fever

This show hasn't even aired yet, and people are already mad. I lived on Maui for many years and so do most of my freinds. From what I HAVE seen of this show, it is the total false portrial of Maui. Not everyone is white,rich,living in gated communities,surfing all day. Most people are average, mixed races, go to school and dont surf everday. Most of my friends and kids on Maui are outraged. I really dont like these 'reality' shows and think that MTV should get their facts straight before they create one.

I agree, MTV just fakes all of it.
If you look at Laguna Beach, most of the people with the amazing houses have them on the beach or in the hills. There are poor people that exist there, but MTV would rather not show normal average income people. & They also just edit all of their film to make situations that didn't happen.

Don't even get me started on the Real World. If it's the real world, they wouldn't force like 10 people to live in a house together. It's dumb.

The only MTV show i thought was somewhat realistic was Two-A-Days.
Thats probably because I know what goes on behind the sences of high school football, and it's pretty close. Except every team doesnt win states four years in a row.

I hate how Laguna Beach and now Maui Fever are based on the beach. Most people do not live on the beach, so why have two shows based of it? And in California.

If i would have to make a TV show like that, I would have it be somewhere like Ohio, and have average teenagers. Not spoiled girls wearing thousands of dolars of clothing.

It just makes me mad, thats all.

Same with Laguna Beach I drove through there a few summers ago after it started airing and was like.....This is absolutly not like anything you see on TV. These people don't wake up with makeup on looking perfect, it's all scripted, maybe based on a few real events here and there. MTV is really fake about it all, I hardly watch any of the reality shows.

My aunt lives in Laguna Beach and my cousin (16) is like ya me and my friend s don't go out every morning to get latte's from fancy shops. ... And what's with the mysterious red cups there always drinking out of??? It's not like there getting drunk??? Confusing???

They also get their nails done every episode.

Those? Those are party cups. You basically buy those for like a party. They don't necessarily have alcohol in them, but most of the time they do.

Actually, where I'm from, I know tons of kids in HS who get drunk. I think they're stupid but whatever. Actually, there was a bunch of eighth graders that got drunk way back when I was in .. sixth grade. One of them is clean now, but I don't know about the other two. One of them was arrested actually..

The reason there are so many parties, is this spans over EIGHT months. They only film on evenings and weekends, so it doesn't interfere with school. So it just looks like they go partying all the time. It's like 10-15 episodes that only show the main points of the eight months.

That was a little bit intense, don't you think? Anyways, I watched a bit of Maui Fever. I personally didn't like it, and this is coming from a Laguna Beach and My Super Sweet Sixteen watcher. You can tell that it's scripted, and unrealistic. I'm not planning on tuning in again.

First of all that post above was completely unessacary and awful. It's against the rules and that's not what we're about on the TB.

Second of all I know it's filmed over 8 months but I guess it's just here we don't have 30 parties in the time. Way too much drama....

Basically what MTV does, is films one part, tells the opposing person what happened, then they react. Action, reaction. And then MTV edits the crap out of it so it's not even how it was.
the whole Rocky//Breanna feud, was not even how it happened.
