We are going to size up to a King from Queen, we are willing to go up to about $2500. We currently own a Serta Mandolin perfect sleeper which is pretty comfy but has an trough on each side after 5 years.
Do they still make flippable mattresses?
Not interested in temperpedic or sleep number, tried those last time around. Last time we purchased, we brought one home that we roasted in and had to pay the $400 exchange fee. So need something that sleeps cool.
So would like to hear from anyone who loves their mattress!

Pooh2, you and I are in the same situation. Finally getting a king size bed and don't know what mattress to buy. We have wasted so much money in the past on mattresses that sank in the middle or slept too hot or were so firm we ached all day! Did you decide on a mattress? What did you get and how do you like it?

We went with a Stearns and Foster pillow top. It will be delivered in a few weeks. Hope we made the right decision!

I love my beauty rest. I know stearns and foster gets very good reviews. All my research prior to buying our bed set said to stay away from pillow tops. I cannot recall the exact reason maybe google "problems with pillow tops"?

We just went through this. We bought a Sterns and Foster pillow top, the Wanda... HATED IT!!! Just returned it for the Beautyrest Black Brooklyn. MUCH BETTER!!!! These were all kings. We got them with a 20% off coupon through Raymour and Flannigan and were al within your price range.

If you have an Original Mattress Factory store near you, they do make a flippable mattress, and they are supposed to be very good. That's where I'm going next time.

We have this mattress, you can get it at Furniture Row too. It is SO comfy! :)

We are looking at getting a new mattress as well. My wife just returned from a Sleepy's store and was looking at a queen sized Beautyrest for $1200 or a king for $1500.

Anyone with opinions on-this brand or these prices?

Let me throw in my .02 worth. If anyone tells you they love their mattress, make sure they bought it in the last 2-3 years and over a year ago. I personally feel like mattress quality has dropped drastically in the last 10 years. I am on my 3rd mattress in three years, and because of that, the last one I bought from Costco, specifically because of their warranty/return policies. I went from an OK mattress from a local no name discount outlet, that we had used for 7 years, but was still working. We wanted to upgrade dramatically, so we went with the Westin Hotels Heavenly Bed, this is one of those "ultimate" number of coils things, we went with Plush top instead of pillow after reading all the reviews about pillow tops crushing and shifting etc.. This is made by Simmons and supposed to be equal to Beauty Rest Black or similar. Bought online from Westin Hotels, but the warranty is serviced by Simmons. We liked it at first, though it was a little softer than I was hoping, but at about 9 months in, started getting a crease/trough in the middle, even though we "rotated" it once a month. By 1.5 years it was an unbearable crease, that we had to pull ourselves out on in the mornings, to get to the edge of the bed. I called in the warranty, they finally sent an inspector out after much discussion, who measured the indentation and said it was enough to activate the warranty, a month later I had heard nothing and they couldn't find my file, but a week later I get a letter saying "stains" had voided my warranty. I hadn't see any stains, but on close inspection, found a spec, smaller than my little finger nail. My current bed is a natural latex from Costco, and while we have been using it 6 months and I like it, I'm not completely sold on the longevity of it, but at least I can return it to Costco, with no issues, if I need to. If you buy somewhere else remember: Seal your new mattress in a waterproof/dust proof cover, do not remove ANY tags as you will need all the information on them. Read your warranty every word, keep all your paperwork and documentation. And maybe, they will stick by the warranty. Good Luck, from my research, what happened to me is extremely common these days, irregardless of the brand.

We were looking at matteresses yesterday and feel in love with a Serta mattress until we got home and read reviews on the matteress. It is horrible. A lot of people said after 4-6 months their mattress saged in the middle really bad. So now I plan to subscribe to the Consumers report to read their reviews.

We have a Serta set, and I'm ready to set it on fire.

We bought it in 2009. It has a plush top (not a pillow top). There is a visible bump in the middle of the mattress, and two distinct troughs. I swear it's the cause of my shoulder problems. We paid about $2000.00 at Macy's for this piece of garbage, too.

I really wish they'd bring back flip-type mattresses. My previous mattress was a Stearns & Foster, which lasted us about 9 years.

I hate the thought of putting out another $2500 or so, but this time we will definitely go for a Simmons set.

I have been buying org mattress for 20 years now they are good and made local

hows that for commercial lol

we have pillow top and i don't flip it but i do rotate it twice year.

I am not sure where in NH you are but Bobs has a lot of great knock offs! We got ours there just before moving across the country and we were shocked to see how much mattresses cost here. We bought ours in Mass but had to go to NH to the warehouse to pick it up (we chose not to pay for delivery since we had a truck). But find what brand you think you like then go to mybobs.com and try their version out. We love ours.

Consumer Reports rated Original Mattress Factory and Sleep Number beds, the top two. We have always bought Original Mattress, much more affordable, two-sided. Great value.

WE upgraded from a queen to a king. Our mattress we had was a pillowtop flip kind. It was expensive when we purchased it & hurt both our backs.

Everytime we stayed at CSR resort & slept in their king bed we loved the mattress. It slept like a dream. So.....when we decided to get a new mattress we found out what mattress that resort had & ordered it.

From the Disney Resort Collections....the Sealy posturepedia encore plush with princess slipper emblem design. It was $1,400 for the set & shipping. It is awesome & sleeps wonderful!! Totally worth every single penny we paid!

Hint...you are supposed to turn a new mattress every couple weeks ...like rotate it a turn & it will help it not get those indented spots. Like turn one turn so were your head was is at your feet. Makes the mattress wear more evenly especially if your weights are different.

1-877-888-8287 is the # for the Disney resort collections.

We also just upgraded from a queen to a king. We prefer a firm mattress so we stay away from pillow tops and plush tops. We got a Simmons Beautyrest Recharge. Only had it 3 weeks but loving it so far. Paid $1500 for the set at Rooms To Go when we also bought the new bed.

We bought a king size Sleep number bed about two or so years ago, I wouldn't buy anything else again. Simply two thumbs up.

Just bought a new mattress at Sleepys in Portsmouth, NH. Bought a Sealy and loved it in the store and HATED it when we slept on it for one night. It was like sleeping on a rock even though it was a pillowtop. We were so achey.

Went back to the store the next day and chose a Simmons Beautyrest. For $100 they came to the house, picked up the one we hated, and brought the new one within 3 days.
Also....do not pay the price they tell you...we negotiated and got them to drop the sale price down by $600! It's like buying a car! Thankfully we love the Simmons. Just make sure you go someplace that has a trial period!
