Are these on the beds? We are staying at POP and Fort Wilderness Cabins. Every once in a while we have an accident....not me! My kids! I really don't have room to bring a mattress protector. Can I request one?

You have to provide your own; they are not standard. You canhave it shipped. See the sticky shipping to your resort.

You might want to do a google search of "underpads". It's what hospital use for under their patients. Our cats like to "mark" our bed so these on go there. Also, my father is incontinent and my stepmother loves to have these to help him. They aren't really that big and you can just slip them under or over the sheet on the bed and no worries. They work extremely well. The only problem would be you would have to wash them in the laundry should anything happen.

This is something I didn't even consider for our trip next month. DD3 has, once or twice, wet the bed...I just might bring some pull-ups with me.

You can get ones that fold very flat and won't take up much space. The don't cover the whole mattress, but are big enough to cover the important areas under a child, even one that rolls around a bit in bed. Just look for non-fitted or "one size fits all" mattress covers at Wal-Mart, Target, etc. It's a great idea to bring one with you.

You can find disposable ones that won't take up much space at all in your luggage - or get a crib sized waterproof pad - also folds up very small & can be washed if needed. We always travelled with a crib pad when DSs were potty training.

You might want to consider a flannel backed tablecloth.

We used this when our son was in that "training" stage. Flannel to the mattress keeps it from shifting too much. Often you can find these fairly inexpensively at discount stores. ($ General, Family $, etc.)

Then you can simply toss it at the end of the vacay to save room in the luggage.

I thought about the same thing after reading your post....I went to dollar tree and picked up 2 shower curtains to place under sheet and I will toss when we leave. Thanks for making me think about this too. But maybe you can do the same. They are small and easy to fit into luggage.

A comment and a question. The sleeper sofas in DVC units *do* have a mattress pad that are waterproof (look like standard mattress pad but have inner lining that is water resistant). My daughter was nice enough to test them twice during our last visit at AKL - Kidani and they worked amazingly well :) So much so, I want to buy some for our beds (it happens extremely rarely at home, but it pretty much ruins the mattress if it happens just once). Anyone know the brand of their mattress pad on the sleeper sofa? I committed it to memory rather than taking a picture and now I'm drawing a blank. If someone is staying at DVC and could take a peek It would be much appreciated. It's on the bottom corner of the mattress. Thanks! Also, just to pre-empt any diatribes about parenting and pullups, our child *is* potty trained, well out of pull ups, and has stayed at Disney resorts over 50 nights in her four years and never had an accident until this trip and did so twice unexpectedly despite going potty before bed. Long hot days and drinking more than normal can have some unexpected effects on the body.

When my kids were little, we had mattress protecters that were kind of a thick flannel that were about 2 x 2 to place under the sheets in position under their bottoms. They didn't take up much space and would be easy to pack. Surely there are still things like that available to purchase.

Second vote for the Goodnights pads. DD sleeps hard so has an occasional accident, so we keep one of these under her sheet and bring them with us on trips. Works great! Was also fantastic when our pup had surgery: put it down in her crate under the sheet and changed them a few times a day.

They are sticky backed and cover a wide area, so better than just a topper. And they are thin, so easy to transport

I have blue pads for the dog, perhaps they would work under the sheets? I will have to look for the Good Nites pads for our trip. DD3 has only had one accident in the last 6 weeks, but I don't want to take that chance on vacation! Good thinking, I may have forgotten this! Thank you!

When our kids were newly potty trained, we brought along the puppy training pads. My inlaws used them for their dog and we would just use those. I would lay the puppy pad on the bed sheet & then lay a beach towel over it for the kids to sleep on...never had a problem.

The Good Nights pads are similar to the puppy pads but are thicker (more absorbant) and have a sticky back. The sticky back was crucial for us - DD is a 'swimmer' in bed and when we tried a mattress pad that just laid on top of the mattress (didn't go around the sides), it used to bunch up during the night and she would totally miss it. :headache:

We used to use those pads at home mostly the first couple years after potty training, but when we were out of town just used the Nighttime Pull-ups. However, our DD is 2+ year out from being potty trained, so this last visit we had no expectation of needing Pull-ups or pads, thus why we didn't use any. Luckily, it turned out the mattress pad DVC uses on the pullout couch is just like those pads -- it has the same rubber inner layer with plush exterior. I wasn't planning on needing it, but it worked amazingly well. It was soaked on top but the mattress underneath was completely dry with no stain. Now I just need to figure out what brand they were so I can buy them for all our mattresses -- just in case. I'll make sure to check in March when we are back. Thanks!
