If I recall correctly, the Matterhorn was down earlier in the year and they were going to replace the existing bobsleds with new ones--single rider cars. Have they done that? Does anyone have pictures of the new ones if that is indeed the case? I can't seem to find any good information on new bobsled cars.

That has not happened and I don't think it will ever go back to single rider cars as it would cut down on the ride efficiency, thus increasing the line wait times.

If there are new or refurbished cars on the way in any form I haven't heard about it. Maybe someone else knows something if there is anything at all.

Yes, there are new bobsleds in the works for the Matterhorn. They have been reporting it on MP and MC. Here's a really poor quality pic of the new bobsleds originally posted at MC:

A Fantasyland CM who posts on MP reports that they will be changing the height requirement to 40" when these new sleds are installed.

Any idea when these changes are being made? :confused3 I hope they don't close the Matterhorn for refurb in May. :scared: This might be our only visit to DL and I've always wanted to go on the Matterhorn! :hippie:

Interesting. I suppose WDC figures it will increase capacity with three separate seats since most now sit only two per car so instead of four adults per train it will be six per train.

I agree, I know I always go seperate, and so do most other people as well. I doubt the wait times would change much at all if they did the single rider seats.

I don't think the lines would change that much either, although the new seats look less pooh sized friendly :-/

It depends if they run one or two car trains. Assuming they will continue to run two car trains with two added spots per train the ride efficiency would increase. This is also assuming that all three seats per car fit an adult but they do look small so who knows.

Danger, wasn't that picture highly debated, though? I've left the conversation alone long ago, but every time I checked in, there were people absolutely vehement that those vehicles were something other than what people thought and they weren't actually going to be used.

Maybe I should go check out the most recent conversations before posting this...naw, what fun would that be?

I pulled the photo from MP, and believed PanFan backed up the info. Not sure if it was debated on MC (I hate the debates there!). Anyway, if you find out that it's not true, please fill us in, because I obviously may have been misinformed by not researching this enough.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I must have heard rumors earlier in the year and took them as fact.
