I just checked the calendar and it now shows the Matterhorn as closed for refurbishment on the 16th of April. Fingers crossed that it will only be a short refurbishment. With Pirates going down the following week it would be a bummer to have both closed.

I know! Saw this too this morning and am concerned it won't be open for our trip April 23 - 27. Called Guest Services to see if I could learn when it would be back up but wasn't given any info.

I saw this too. We arrive on the 16th and the Matterhorn was the one ride we were excited to go on. Since it would have been my son's first time. So now we are a little bummed. But thankfully Pirates is still running this week.

Oh, I didn't realize that the PoTC refurb had been made official yet! Thanks for that info. Luckily it's after our visit so it's a weight off my mind.

I hope its a very short refurb. I love that ride and will be there the end of that week. Either way I'll be in Disneyland though, so I will have a good time! :-)

I just sent an email and asked when it would be back up. When I had called earlier they did not even know it was closed on the 16th and according to their calendar it will be open.

Yeah, when I called about it this a.m. @ 10 EST, cast member I spoke to was super nice & friendly, said he saw it on the calender but had no further info. Said they aren't told anything. So he confirmed the closure but couldn't say how long it would last. Additionally, he couldn't give me any info on the rumored upcoming POC refurb either because the calendar doesn't go that far.
Off topic but confess I'm confused by things I'm reading on the boards about people calling/emailing Guest Services regarding Dumbo or POC and getting responses offering concrete dates. My calls/emails haven't had same results. No info is given, no dates are given, just check back closer to date of travel because calendar only goes out 6 wks.

I am wondering the same. Someone asked about the re-opening of Splash Mountain and he/she did receive the 14th of April as an answer. Which is indeed what is now showing on the calendar. So it might all depend on the willingness of the CM.

That is very strange. When I emailed about pirates I was given exact dates.

Does anyone know when POTC will be open? Is there a site that lists refurb?

Truly don't get their lack of consistency about this stuff but, that aside, if some people *are* getting firm dates, that's good enough for me!
Main thing is confirming for sure if POC is closed 4/23.
Our trip was going to be 4/23 - 4/27 but, if we're missing it by 1 day, we have option to go 4/22 b/c we're arriving @ LAX 4/22 @ 12 a.m. Instead of sleeping in, spending some time in LA, and driving to Anaheim later Sun. afternoon, we could drag ourselves out of bed & go to the park. Honestly don't want to get up that early or go on Dapper Day, but if it's our only chance... Plus it's our LO's fave.... We may not have a choice. But either way want to be able to make PLANS.

I’ve been to Disneyland over 10 trips, and all but one has the Matterhorn been closed. I am so bummed it is closed yet again.

Man, this was our once in a lifetime visit to Disneyland and Pirates and Matterhorn were rides I was REALLY looking forward to. Especially Pirates. We typically go to WDW (been there dozens of times since relatives live there). I guess the Florida Pirates one is the one we'll have to console us with :( No Matterhorn for me :(

We will be there from 4/2 - 7 and we will get Matterhorn which we missed on our first trip. We also missed Splash Mountain (which we will miss AGAIN) amongst many many others (WOC) as they were prepping for the 60th.

You get Paint the Night which we also missed and won't be back until after we are gone.

Now you will have a reason to come back. So many other great things will be open that I am sure there will be enough Magic to go around.

I hope it’s open again by June! I’m getting extremely disappointed by the number of things potentially closed on our trip. We’re missing the reopening of the Pier by a day, heard the other day about World of Color with no end date of refurbishment known, and now Matterhorn? :guilty:
