I have seen in several places that it will down for a partial refurb until 9/1. Do you guys think it will be open on weekends or anything? I will be going from 8/9 to 8/14 and really hope to ride it since it's been 12 years and my kids have never been to DL.

You best bet it to keep checking the calendar on the DL website (I believe it only goes 60 days out) and keep your fingers crossed.

It looks like it will be down all summer. It is open briefly in early July.

Keep checking the Calendar. I knew before I left that Saturday the 18th was the only day it was going to be open so I made sure to get on early in the morning and it has been closed since.

During my original planning, it appeared that the Matterhorn would be open on the weekend of June 18th/19th, but to our pleasant surprise it was open Friday evening the 17th, so we got our one and only ride in that evening. We were in DCA on Saturday and it was running on Sunday. Best bet is to keep checking the calendar, but also the days you're here, ask a castmember. Not sure how extensive this refurb is, but maybe they'll open the ride on heavy crowd days.

It is one of our favorites(mine) but it will not affect our trip if it is down.

You were there the same time i was then. Yes, they opened it on Friday night around 5 or 6 PM and we were able to get 2 rides in.

We figured it was going to be open sometime that day because we had asked one of the CM's earlier in the week and they told us they might open it that day. Appeared to be no ryhme or reason why they decided to open it that particular night?

Great ride BTW...an oldie but a goodie.

DH and DD rode it today. It broke down while they were in line but they waited it out. Every time I went past it today it was running.

We arrived on Friday but didn't go to Disneyland until Saturday. The sign at the entrance indicated that the Matterhorn would be down, but it was working fine! Went back on Sunday and rode it again :thumbsup2. It was so much fun! I had thought it would be down most of the weekend, but seems like it wasn't! Happy me!:cheer2:

We were there too! We knew that it was going to be down prior to our first trip to Disneyland but on Friday we saw several people talking to a CM at the Matterhorn. He told us that it would be opening at 5:00 and sure enough it was! We went with the expectation of not being able to ride it on our trip so this was a nice surprise for us and we really enjoyed it! :)

We expected it to be closed this past week, but we rode it last evening. It was also open at some point on Wednesday, but the lines looked pretty long.

It was running this past week-- We rode on Thursday morning. The lines got pretty long- especially on the Tomorrowland side- so I'd recommend lining up on the Small World side and riding early. We rode around 9am on a MM and only had about a five minute wait by lining up on the Small World side. At the same time, the other line was about a 30 minute wait!

I went on it too on Thursday, was closed at least on Tuesday and Wednesday when I was there. Thursday the lines were long, to the back side until late in the day. Then they closed the FL side line, and after fireworks it was only about half way around to the sub lagoon side, not too bad of a wait since they were loading both sides from that one line.

Yeah it seems like it is down but still running every once in awhile. I will be there from Aug 9 to 15th, and was hoping "partial refurb" mean sometimes it will be runnign throughout the day.
