Matsunoma Lounge questions

I have never been in the Matsunoma Lounge before and have a couple of questions.

Do you need a PS or is it more like a drop in place?

Can you just go for drinks, or would it be improper not to order any food?

We were there 2 weeks ago, and it appeared that you could just stop by without a PS as there was not many Guests. It's your vacation...so if just want drinks then do that or otherwise you might find something to split between your group; however, I do not think it would be wrong to just order drinks as the Lounge is very laid back. Hope that helps...

It is a drop in, first come first served.

As a lounge you can just order drinks. Lots of people have drink there while waiting on their dinner reservations.

I have had Sushi there several times and it is fine.

Sushi is great, and I never wait for a table. Sometimes I can get a table by the window too.

IIRC, the lounge did not take PS when I was there at Easter time. Even so, there were few people in there (despite the line of people waiting to get into Tempura Kiku): not only was it easy to get a table, but it was also quite peaceful! It is perfectly acceptable to order only drinks, as I'd planned to do, but the menu was too enticing for me and I enjoyed a wonderful tempura lunch. Sushi was also available.
