I did that exercise too.
My problem right now is on the bathroom - I can't get myself around the tiny showed and toilets in the same tiny room... I already think it a stretch fr a couple so for a family...
And separate bathrooms are only available in suites on most cruise line, but if you have a solution I'd be super interested !

I've never been a fan of the split bathroom. Then again, I only travel with one other adult so that may be why. I find the both halves of the split bathroom really tiny, almost uncomfortably so.

I have heard many people mention how they can't stand the toilet and shower in the same room. I find that so strange. I've never seen a house or hotel room with a split bathroom. Maybe an additional door for the toilet but never a completely separate room.

Maybe I just stay in unusual places?

It is a very personal preference I guess ! It is true in the US most bathrooms are not split, but in France they are!
I know that if that was not an issue for me I would consider other lines immediately.

It's not that they share a space, it's that they share a TINY TINY space. I only have the one experience on RCL but I'm 6'4" and at the time about 290. The shower head is about chin level, the shower itself isn't big enough for me to stand back out of the stream of the chin high water flow and the toilet isn't in the room it's might have been 12 inches to the toilet and it faced the shower...it was just odd. I don't think the split bathroom is all that Disney makes it to be, but it is nice in such a cozy environment to have the separation (privacy). Getting off topic, but I love going to Senses and using the shower area there in the men's locker room. Get showered up and changed there...man I'm ready for a cruise.
