Hello all-

I have a ? for all the mommies out there... has anyone ever purchased an old navy maternity swim suit? We are going in October and I definately want to swim and I'll be 22-23 weeks along. The suits look real cute and are in my price range. I was wondering how true to size they run (pre-prego I was probably a 10) and if they hold up well? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.

I bought one from a maternity shop in the mall, Pea in a Pod I think, and it lasted fine the few times I needed to wear it. I have gotten other maternity clothes from Old Navy that I loved. Some I wish I could still wear...well maybe not cause that would mean I'd still be huge. They all held up fine and are patiently waiting for baby #2 so they can be worn again.

I never bought an Old Navy swimsuit. I really didn;t want to sepnd money on a suit for this trip. So I searched ebay until I ofund a great deal $5 total for a Motherhood suit- it as a fish design and is cute. Motherhood suits hold up really well- I should have saved mine. Good luck.

I bought a suit from Old Navy maternity. It ran fairly true to size (although, it was a little small at the end of my pregnancy.) It was cute and held up pretty well. What I would suggest doing, if you are ordering from the internet (if your local Old Navy doesn't sell maternity) is to order more than one size. You may want to try both the medium and large, and then you can take back the one that doesn't fit to your local Old Navy store. The medium would probably be just right for you. :D

When my daughter was pregnant for our trip last fall she got a suit from the Gap and liked it a lot. It was well made and pretty cute for a maternity suit. She got the same size she wore pre-pregnancy and it fit her great.

I liked my old navy suit. I can't remember if it ran true to size. One thing I did need to do was take in the top a little because I'm pear shaped. :) It was a tankini with a built in shelf bra and I just tightened the band a little inside the suit.

The bottom was generously cut and the whole thing covered well. I was glad to have it in WDW.

Check out Lands End as well. They have a maternity line including suits and diaper bags.

I am a swim teacher and what I did was pick up a few suits that were a size 16. Like the 'womans sizes" You can swim in them and they ususally have a buit in bra and they hold everyting in place. I found that my maternity suit has stretched out and I am a bit dissapointed with it especially since I spent $40 on it.

Sometimes you can still find them on clearance at some stores. I bought 2 for 15.00 at Target a few weeks ago. (womans sizes. Not maternity)

I bought mine at Motherhood's outlet store in 1999, and have rinsed it out after every use. I'm expecting #3 right now, and we are using it 2x per week for swimming lessons for DD2 plus in evenings and weekends. I probably paid close to $45 for it, but I held onto it, and I agree it will be a good investment for your upcoming trip. Nothing feels so good (I'm 25 weeks now) as getting into the pool! Lessons tonight - YIPEE!

Old Navy does seem to run very close to pre-pregnancy size, for long term comfort if the sizes are numbers you might go up on size to make sure you can use it closer to the end in case you gain a couple extra pounds or they distribute differently. In my case each time I've gained about the same but my body has been totally different each time.
