Matching Shirts for Family?

I was thinking of doing matching shirts for my kids (and maybe hubby and I) for our trip. Has anyone done this. If so, what did you do? I'd love to do something cute but I"m not all that crafty!

In the past, we picked a shirt that displayed where we are from. And since we had family coming from different parts of the country, we all had different designs on the same color shirt. Practically speaking it really helps identify your family quickly in the crowd.

I sew a little. I made DH, DS and myself matching outfits. We were so unique and got lots of comments.

The other thing I do is buy us matching t-shirts. If I cannot get them to match exactly, then they either match in color and / or theme. I love the Disney Store.

We have done this the last two trips for our trip with extended family. It is so much fun and people usually make a lot of comments to us. Pick a bright color... it will help your familt stick out!! We do a design on the computer and print them out with tshirt transfers. Check out the craft boards (is that the name?) DISers usually have a lot of GREAT ideas!!

I'd better get started with my design for our next trip in 15 days!!

I recently bought some matching shirts off of disneyshopping.com. They were in the outlet section of the site, you get to pick from about 13 designs, and personalize them with 3 short lines of text. The adult ones were 9.99 and the kids were 7.99. They run a little big, just so you know.

i am making matching shirts for our trip this time. But just to wear 1 maybe 2 days. They are lime green and i printed on transfer paper Disney World 2006 and our names. Unfortunately, i am having a very hard time finding lime green s hirts for the 3 males in our group. It looks like i might just have to do a darker green for them. I wish i had looked here for transfers as i was having a heck of a time finding our to flip my design.

Not exactly "matching" tshirts for the family but DH and I and I bought the Jack and Sally shirts from the Studio Collection at the Disney Store that we plan to wear one day...go ahead and laugh

I can't for the life of me get the adults in my group to wear matching shirts. But, I can still dress my kids at least! They will wear at least matching colors each day to find them in crowds easily, and as far as matching, they have matching tie dye Mickey shirts (see the design board), matching Mickey pirate shirts with Neverland maps (made them on Zazzle), and matching lime green (Zazzle has that color for kids) shirts with their names and Disney characters (nickandjuliasmom made that design). I want to make them matching Christmasy shirts, but may just buy Christmas shirts closer to that season that are not Disney.

Much to DH dismay I bought matching Tshirts for everyone for 3 days of our trip. I told him he would thank me if we were chosen for a parade or to open MK or something exciting. He just rolled his eyes and shook his head.

There are ten of us going in just 36 days
and we decided that we wanted to get a picture of all of us in matching tshirts. We tried to do the transfer thing but it just wasn't working all that well. We went to disneydirect.com and under the outlet they have the disney logo tshirts for 5.99. They have all the sizes but the colors are limited. We got everyone a shirt and said they just have to wear it for a picture and then they can take it off. And they do run big. My dd is 2 and I got her an xxsmall and it comes down to her knees and the sleeves are halfway down her arms. If nothing else it will make a nice nightshirt for the next year.

I've got matching shirts for 2 days of our upcoming trip. I bought clearance t-shirts on the disneydirect.com site for about 6.99 ea. (orange with Mickey & gang on front) and then had personalized shirts made from the same site with our family name and vacation dates on it. Paid more than I normally would for the personalized shirts, but had a $50 gift card offer which made it worth my while. If you're not inclined to make your own, look at the clearance t-shirts on Disney's shopping site. Good luck!

Question for those of you who design your own shirts. We are actually doing Universal Studios and I was considering designing something, but I wondered if using the logos was an issue. Has anyone done that before? Ever had any problems?

We just got back last night. We had matching shirts for 5 of our days. We got a lot of attention....good positive attention with them on. Nobody had to ask how many in our party and so on. In fact, we were asked to pick where we wanted to sit and such special on our trip. Many CM's asked about shirts and such. It worked out well. DH got to be Beast and DD got to be Papa in the Belle story time hour by the castle. I think it is the special time and effort they know you put into it. I could be wrong...JMHO. Have fun!
