I am currently studying for my Masters Degree in Graphic Design in the UK and I'm building up case studies on the visual cultures used within certain attraction in the parks. I have recently made my first study on Dapper Dan's Barber Shop in DLP and created the poster below.

The issue I have is that I don't have access to the parks around the world and would love to hear from anyone who could potentially help me with this project? It's not anything to involved, just taking a lot of photographs of an attraction and it's details?

If anyone is a park local, or a frequent park visitor, at any of the parks, and are up for creating an interesting project, I'd love to hear from you?

Thanks

Ranny

Thanks! That looks great. I’m looking to get so very specific details so any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Not exactly sure what you are looking for. The picture posted above looks more like what I could call a 'collage' versus a 'case study'. Are you trying to analyze something or just create imagery? I would imagine you can simply search around online and find any number of images from Disney parks all over the world.

You may also want to tap into the monthly planning boards, to see who is at WDW now or will be there soon!

Hi all. Thank you for your replies and ideas. I'll see if those avenues can offer any help.

I've made this document to act as a 'brief' for what I'm looking for, so if there's anyone who could spare me 20 mins whilst in the parks it would make my year!! 😁😁

Personally, I won't download documents from strangers.... that's why I said that you should just type out what you're looking for here and someone could possibly post the picture(s) you're looking for.

If you are looking for someone to contact you, you need 10 postings to allow for someone on disboards to send a message and you to respond.

Best of luck earning your masters!!

This is the brief I've been sending to people. If anyone can help in any way would be amazing!!

CASE STUDY BRIEF

BACKGROUND

My name is David Ransom, I’m a graphic designer from the south of the UK, currently studying a Masters in Graphic Design at Portsmouth University. I have been going to the parks for over a decade and a self proclaimed Disney nerd!

DEGREE WORK
For my degree I am researching and analysing how Walt Disney Imagineering use graphic design and visual culture within the parks to tell their stories and the themes of the attractions / lands / parks.

CASE STUDIES
To achieve this I am collecting detailed images of specific attractions or places within the parks and analysing them.

BRIEF
Pick one attraction or shop or restaurant and take pictures of everything! The outside of the building. The sign above the door. The walls. The pictures inside. Anything that’s been ‘designed’ take a picture.

EXAMPLE
Here is an example of the types of pictures I took earlier this year in Dapper Dans on Main Street in Disneyland Paris. This would be a good bench mark of the types of things and style I am looking for.

Thank you so much for your help with this. I appreciate your time and am extremely grateful for any help you can offer?

Thanks again

David

As an FYI, Tokyo Disney doesn't look like it has a barbershop--only Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique.

ETA: It may be only Paris and the US parks!

Hi everyone!
Just to update, I've had some awesome people send me some great photos for this, and have started making studies based on them, but still need a lot of images!

If there's anyone able to help me out, I would be super grateful!

Thanks

Ranny
