MasterCard Deal on Souveneir Cup at Mel's Diner

We stopped in Mel's Diner today to get a drink, ordered a large Diet Coke and showed them my annual pass to get the discount then handed the cashier my MasterCard to charge it to, the cashier commented "Oh, you can get a souveneir cup for the same price as a large with the MasterCard.", so needless to say I did that. I'm actually not a big fan of the souveneir cup since we travel light in the park (just the wife and I), but this is a really nice deal, especially since the refills only run $1.26 with the annual pass discount. I'm not sure if this is a Mel's Diner only deal (they had lots of MasterCard promotion running on their new flat screen TV's they put in) or is available elsewhere, anyone know?
