I just noticed the new Disney ads offering 14 nights for the price of 10. Now I booked before Christmas. The total cost I was invoiced for was £4700. Now with the new deal it is £3700!!. What should I do? Book again - then cancel the first booking or see of they will change my original. Any advice would be great.

You need to discuss options with TA, Have you just paid a small deposit? you could possibly lose that. Depends on their term & conditions. Have they booked it thru Disney.co.uk or Disney.com?
With Disney.co.uk we have paid £150(£50pp) deposit. Changes can be made for a £25 fee but reading the small print it says (i) No changes are allowed from a full price Booking to a special offer.
If your orignal booking was a full price and now a special offer I guess it would have to be a cancellation, lose deposit and re-book, still might be worth doing.
Your TA is first stop.

Thanks for the advice. I have paid about 2 thirds of the holiday. But I see in the small print if I cancel more than 56 days out I lose my deposit - £200 in my case. I also saw the bit about not changing to a special offer. I just wondered if anyone had any experience of disney being a bit flexible. I will contact my TA first thing. Re-booking and then cancelling should in theory save abiut £800. i guess a lot of people will be in the same boat.

Will do. Is there a danger however that the lower price is for a limited number of rooms which are not in the best areas of the hotel. I would hate to go through all the rebooking thing and find we were given a rubbish room. We are staying at the Poly btw.

What you pay for a hotel room has no bearing on where you will be allocated, its done on a 1st come 1st served basis when you check in. I booked AKL last year only a few weeks before we went, low annual pass rate for basic room, when we checked in they gave us a fantastic savannah room worth at least double what we paid.

Have you been to Poly before? we went to look around at Xmas, loved the feel of the resort very welcoming even though we were not staying there, totally opposite to AKL. We went in to look at all Xmas decs and have a Dole whip.:cloud9:

No never been to Disney at all before. Kids are young 4 and 5 so thought we would pay extra to be on monorail. The Poly gets some mixed reviews on TripAdvisor so fingers crossed. The whole Disney thing is a web of planning. I am waiting to do my ADRs - thinking when and what you are going to eat so far in advance I find hard. That's a point I have already booked Chef Mickey's and CRT. If I cancel will I lose these. Need to check that one out.

Changing your booking should not affect your ADR's, you should have a confirmarion number for each reservation but it does not matter where you are staying, can be either onsite or offsite. Have you done them direct yourself or thru your TA? When do you go? they are supposed to be bringing in online ADR's sometime but no idea when yet.

A few pics we took at Poly at Xmas.

Just checked our booking for August make sure we still have the best deal.

6th-22nd August studio at Old Key West with Dining plan and 21 day tickets £4,034.52, we paid £2,164.00 while they were offering free dining plan and 42% discount. £1,870 more than we paid:scared1:

Thats a great price Wayne :thumbsup2

How did you manage the 42% discount :confused3

Yes, our prices have gone up by £450 and that's not taking into account the free dining.

This surprises me as I thought the room prices were fixed (not taking into account any offers available).:confused3

We got the same deal as well but on SSR! The discount was a special offer at the time and only when you book SSR or OKW. The offer has finished now.

We booked a studio for a week and with our 14 day park tickets and the DDP it cost us just £995! :cool1: I looked the other day at how much it would cost us now and its nearly double the price!

As Simon says it was a special offer just on the 2 resorts. I was very suprised they offered both 42% off and free dining. But it did exactly what they want, got another family to stay onsite that are 100% offsite fans.
Take tickets off and it works out at £91/nights for studio + food for 3 of us, with current exchange rates for offsite costs I could not resist the offer.

An update to my booking. Spoke to the TA who discussed with disney. This took a bit of time. However it was a good result. They transferred my booking at a cost of £25. In total by applying the offer I saved £1050. Thanks for all the help and advice. No doubt I'll be looking more help when the time approaches - especially Disney restaurant advice. Thanks again.
