From Central Mass. here too! Harvard to be specific - grew up in Norwood and Scituate and lived in Brookline during College and after. We bought in 2001, have points at VWL and love it!
Sorry dbKelly but I might have to disagree with your theory - lots of house poor people out here as well.

Is it just my imagination or does it appear that most of the DVC owners are from central mass (beyond 495 belt). Maybe they can afford DVC better then the people who bought a home within the 495 belt, because we are so so so house poor.

I also think that this theory may not be right (or at least it's not right anymore). We're just beyond the 495 belt (Shrewsbury, so off 290)...it seems like everybody in my town is house-poor, LOL!! Houses here are outrageously expensive for what you get I wouldn't mind paying top $$ to live in a town like Sudbury or Harvard, but I can't believe how much people are paying for fairly "average" towns here in MA. It's crazy, and it's driving a lot of people out! One of my best friends is moving out to the sticks because Shrewsbury is too expensive now Even my family of origin has moved to Southern NH (sellouts, LOL!!). Half my neighbors can barely afford their mortgages, nevermind a DVC membership

one more western MA. (the few and far between) Southampton here. We own 215 at Vero bought in 2001, have not been to vero yet since we can't seem to stay off the Magic.. Cruise number four comming up!

We bought into DVC in 2000 after staying at a "Not so Quality Inn" and seeing the accomodations a friend of ours had at BWV. We originally bought 150 OKW points, then added 50 Hilton Head points, contemplating BCV points.
Be very careful, it is contagious; the points thing that is. You can never have too many points

North Attleboro Ma, here.

Bought 200 BCV points in December 2002 and added on another 100 points a couple of months later. Even after the add-on I have found that 300 points a year is not nearly enough!!

we have our first dvc trip planned for november of this year with our son who will be 2 then...

We sort of had a Mass meeting last Dec at Logan airport when we were returning from our T'giving trip. As we were leaving the elevator DH was carrying our DVC tote bag, a lady said "DVC! us too where do you belong?" We said OKW and BWV, she said "We are OKW and BWV! When's your next trip?" We said March'04, She said " Us too!". Unfortunately, in the rush to get our luggage etc we didn't exchange names but I hope to see her on our next trip.

We purchased 150 points @ BCV in Feb 2002 site unseen, and visited for the first time last Oct. We definitely were not disappointed. Can't wait for our next trip in Fall '05. Would like to buy more points so that we can have a trip every year, but are afraid of Disney burnout (is there such a thing??).
