Mass at the Dis?

Hey Everyone,

I'm going to be at Disney World this month and I was wondering if there were any masses. I heard that there used to be an outdoor mass held at one of the resorts but I don't know which and if they still have it. I'm Roman Catholic and I heard that the mass they offer caters to all religions.

Help anyone??

There used to be at the Poly but not any more. There is a lovely Catholic Church close to Crossroads. They will give you info at front desk about Mass times etc.. You will need transportation though.

Mary Queen of the Universe Shrine I believe is the one that the previous poster is speaking of. My family used to attend Mass at the Poly and they were always accepting donations for the building of the shrine. I haven't had the opportunity to attend mass there yet though. We go to Mary Queen of Universe. They used to host the mass at the Poly. It is very close and the front desks usually have printed directions. Their new church and grounds is very beautiful and air conditioned. ALthough we miss going to Mass at the Poly.

For Cathloic Masses while traveling...but I do not believe there are any services or masses at WDW except at Easter. Good Luck

Hi,

I am not clear about the location of the Mary Queen of the Universe. Is it actually located at the WDW park? We are flying in for Christmas and will not be renting a car. Will we still be able to get there using park transportation?

There is no Mass on the grounds of WDW (which is about 50 sq miles big). So you will have to rent a car or take a taxi. The closest place to Mary Queen of the Universe ( I think that is correct name). is DTD. It is still several miles from there.

OOps looks like ther is a Mass at EAster and I know that there was a Mass at the Contemporary Christmas morning because we were there,

Then we were at WDW last Christmas there was a Mass Christmas morning at the Contemporary. I am not sure if they are doing this again this year. There is a midnight Mass at Mary Queen of the Universe that is wonderful but that requires a taxi or rental car. Hope this helps.

Mary Queen of the Universe is about 2 1/2 miles outside of Disney and the website has directions. I suggest that you print these directions out as some of the hotel desks do not have ANY idea where the church is.

Anyone know how much the round trip cab fare is from Pop Century to the church?

We took a taxi-van for 6 of us last year to the Shrine from Pop - it was approx $16 each way.

That is so sad that they stopped it at the Poly, I wouldn't have donated the last time I was there so then they couldn't have afforded to build a new church! JUST KIDDING!
