Maryland

Timonium Maryland here. We own at BWV, BCV and Marriott Frenchman's Cove. Welcome to all Ravens fans. Wacko for Flacco.:cutie:

How do you like your Frenchman's Cove? We own at Westin St John, just got back at few weeks ago. I have considered adding a few days on St Thomas, either before or after a week at St John, to try experience St Thomas.

You guys are too funny!! I am not far from you, my boys have played basketball at Glenwood and Glenelg. (The youngest is finishing up HS at Atholton!). We are at 32 and Cedar Lane, next to Johns Hopkins APL.

I know why there are so many DVCers in MD..... $49 fares to WDW on SW and AirTran!! Wahoo! You can almost get to WDW quicker than driving over the bay bridge to OC!

So true.....Last weekend I left my house and it took 2 hours just to get from my house to the other side of the bay bridge :scared1: That's not even half-way. A SW flight is 2 hours and 5 minutes!

Now Columbia Mall just opened a Five Guys and Arby's. We're hitting the big time in Howard Co.:rotfl:

Don't forget about the Chipotle! I hear we are the first ones to get a mall version. Woo Hoo!

32 is a mess and what about the ICC?! I drive past hte construction everyday on 29 and still can't figure out where that thing will go.

I drive 29 every day as well. As long as the ICC goes over to 270, I will be happy! Of course I have to live long enough to see it! We need more options, 495 is a zoo. I leave the house every day at 6 AM just to avoid the really bad traffic. Of course today there was an accident on the American Legion Bridge at around 6:30AM so traffic was bad even early! (Yes, I am a crazy fool that works in Northern Virginia...):eek::eek:

Who resurected the ICC? I thought that had died long ago after Glendening's term ended? Will it help me up here in Westminster?

Construction is in full swing! You can see the construction of the ramps over 29 and connecting to I95. I don't know when it is supposed to be done or where exactly it hits 270.

It won't be hitting I-270. It'll connect with 370.

You have my sympathies! I commuted Annapolis to Herndon for about 6 months until my nice boss found me a place closer to home near Ft. Meade. That commute sucked and I only did it 50% of the time.

My husband and I just purchased at AKV in Feb of 2008. January 23, 2009 will be our first trip as DVC members. Just wondering if there are any other DVC owners in Maryland and how your experience has been.TIA!
You should have no issues. DVC maintenance fees are high but when you figure in no charge to make reservations nor a housekeeping charge for short stays, the maintenance fees are reasonable compared to others. I have stayed at the Villas at Wilderness Lodge, Boardwalk, and SSR. I will be at the Boardwalk December 11 to 18. I like being able to park my car close to the units at SSR but nothing beats the convenience of the Boardwalk area for going to Epcot or MGM.

Only 29 miles! I wish I had that few. I have a 52 mile drive each way. I hate it. My job shifted location so my choices were limited; unemployment or work at my current location. The only saving grace is that I don't have to go on the beltway or I-270.

I live near I-270 and have been hoping for this road for decades already! The commutes on 270 are HORRID. My MIL lives in Olney & I'd hoped it would somehow run from Northern Montg. Co. across to Laurel & that it would somehow make a more direct route in that direction. Now it's finally under construction and it's going to be a freaking toll road. Pffft. They can keep it for all I care. Toll road my foot.

Ha, I looked at the maps and I still don't get where it is going. Oh well guess an hour plus commute to drive 22 miles it will remain.

We bought site unseen. We watched them build and decided that we would buy based on other marriott's. I was so bummed when DVC went RCI that we pulled the trigger. Our first trip is in May. i will let you know.

What were the advantages to Intervall International to RCI. Frankly, I didn't see many places I wanted to stay in either one. The locations are fine, but the timeshares looked so-so. Do you know of any to recommend? Maybe I should post this as a new thread too.
Thanks, Sandie

You guys seriously need to look into telecommuting. This is why I'm glad I'm a web designer. My netbook is always in my backpack and I have aknack for finding broadband. Just the other day I hammered out a website courtesy of HCGH's ER (Grandpa Mohawk continues to make life interesting.. this time a UTI).

I avoid the highways around here like the plague. Too many insane, aggressive drivers. I shoulda known when that dump truck swiped my sideview mirror on 32. At the time I only had my Learner's. No wonder this is the worst area to drive in.

I never bothered with a trade but i think the main diff is access to Marriotts. Marriott uses II as its primary trading agency. And Marriott is known for having very nice timeshares.

We own Marriott and Disney. DVC is just to stay in Florida while with Marriott we travel around. Incidentally, did you know they just opened a Marriott Courtyard in OC? It's on 17th street, next to Harrison Hall. We breakfasted there last weekend. They serve the best fruit bowl I've ever seen. There's a pic on my photobucket account somewhere.

Yup, here it is:

Wow! that does look good. I wish they were farther north! We have a condo on the bay at 125th.

I think they meant Route 29, not the number of miles :)
