I love Mary Poppins. It's like the most iconic disney movie in the history of the world, for me.

I'm wondering, as I think back on the sheer hysteria, that explodes when new movies come out and 'Meets' open for guests....I'm wondering how this will manifest for Mary Poppins.

Will Epcot's UK have a giant crowd standing in line for 4 hours waiting to see Mary (who has been there all along and one of the easiest characters to meet & greet)?

Will Epcot create something wonderful to honor the movie, which they should...I mean it's MARY POPPINS people! :flower:

I dress up as Mary when we go at Halloween and I love the film (a little nervous about this 'holy' ground being messed with, but that's another thread) :tilt:

Whew! I am glad to see that the movie won't be released until late 2018--Christmas Day, I believe. I really enjoy the UK pavilion and remember visiting with Mary last time we were there. We are going this June, so we should still be able to see Mary without too much fuss. Hopefully you will also be able to see your favorite character without too much hassle. Good luck!

I wonder if it will make breakfast at 1900 Park Fare harder to book? We have a reservation for our trip in May . My dd14 loves her :)

Rumor has it that Disney is planning a Mary Poppins ride in England in the upcoming years. This obviously will not be ready for the new movie's premiere, but there may be more Mary Poppins stuff coming in the future. (If you google "Mary Poppins ride Epcot" you can see a variety of the rumors some of which say "confirmed"...which it isn't yet...)

It's a fun question to think about...the Mary Poppins Returns movie could be huge...with Emily Blunt and Lin Manuel Miranda. I am trying to think of analogies...I don't recall the Cinerall remake having a huge impact (the live action one from 2015) even though it was a great movie. Same for the recent Beauty and the Beast and Junglebook both of which were great.

Then again...Cinderella and the BATB characters were already pretty popular and Mary is not. so maybe the Junglebook example is the best comparison? I don't recall Mowgli or Baloo having a big resurgence.

Maybe they'll retheme RoL to Mary Poppins? ;)

Actually I'd love any new Mary Poppins representation in the parks!

Saving Mr. Banks was my own personal resurgence for Mary Poppins. I still think the original movie is just too long a 2 hours and 20 minutes. Then again, I think any movie over, say, 1:50 is too long. Although I guess in 1964 maybe they had an intermission.

Lin-Manuel is what will make it a big deal for a lot of people. He's awesome, I think there may well be "Bert-Mania"

PLEASE BE TRUE.

If they do that, I will never leave Epcot.

I hope its a big success. Mary Poppins is timeless and I have the proof at home. The Harry Potter loving 8 year old god daughter is so in love with Mary Poppins that we have to watch the movie about twice a month. She has already been watching trailers and getting excited.

Oh a Mary Poppins ride would be very exciting!!!! Mary Poppins is my all time favorite Disney movie and I loved Saving Mr. Banks as well.

Right now rumors are a Mary Poppins dark ride C-ticket level (think Alice in Wonderland in Disneyland). If it happens construction would begin this summer and open in 2020.

Looks like our 2021 trip will be the first one with PH so I can get a Mary Poppins fix daily!! Mary Poppins has always been grossly under utilized in the parks.

It is well past time for Mary Poppins to have a ride. The new movie looks great!

Is Alice in Wonderland really a C-Ticket, even with the recent enhancements? I'm thinking D at least.
