Has anyone ever stayed at the Marriott Grande Vista? I usually would prefer to stay onsite, but we got an awesome deal of 4 nights for $199 total :cool1: . Of course, it's one of those timeshare things where we have to go to a 90 minute presentation, but still. I think I can give up an hour and a half for a great price on a room.

Does anyone know the proximity of the Grande Vista to US or SeaWorld? Or does anyone have any info on the resort in general?

Thanks!

Yes, the resort is nice. Do not buy the timeshare. If you are interested at all in buying after hearing the information, check out the TUG website first.

Someone from Marriott called us. We stayed at one on our wedding night. I guess that's all we needed to qualify (in addition to not ever testing a timeshare before and meeting the income minimum).

We have no intention to actually buy into the timeshare, but the price is definitely right for a vacation!

There are other timeshare deals online, but none were as inexpensive as what they offered us on the phone. Hopefully, it will not be disastrous when we go!!

We did a Marriott timeshare presentation last year. We were staying at the World Center and signed up. It was decent, as the guy was not pushy at all, and we got two Seaworld tickets out of it. Saved us $100. As a general rule, Marriott presentations are not as pushy as others. Just tell them no thank you and off you go!

TUG is Timeshare Users Group. I believe the website is www.tug2.com, although it looks like most of the pertinent information is only available to members and they charge a yearly fee.

First let me say we LOVE the Grand vista. We've stayed there twice and will be returning. We've also done the presentation both times. The first time we got $100 disney dollars and the second time i think we took tickets to sea World.

THe presentation will take about 3 hours. You NEEEEEEEEEEEED to say very early on.. "We're really not that interested but we got a good deal and they said this is an obligation. can you show us the minimum so we dont waste your time or ours'. they are mUCH happier to do it that way than to waste their time on people who really aren't going to buy. LOL

melissa6631,

Thanks so much for the heads up! That is valuable information, because I could already see myself getting annoyed at the 2 hour mark. I'm glad they aren't pushy (or at least as pushy as they could be). It only makes me look forward to the trip even more.

SeaWorld is very, very close (within 5 min or so) and US is about 15-20 minutes away if you go up International and then veer off onto the Universal Blvd. drive around. You are in a good location, half way from Disney, half way to US/IOA and close to SeaWorld.
We love the Marriott Grand Vista. What size unit did you get?

Also, here's the website to the Marriott Vacation Club with the description of the Grand Vista.

We stayed at the Grande Vista when we went to Orlando last year. I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! My brother and his wife own a timeshare and invited me and my husband. The place is goregous. You will pass Sea World to get to the Grand Vista. I would wave to Kraken every night :p . They were doing construction there last summer. The pool area is wonderful. There is a Pizza Hut on site, you can rent movies, rent boats, play at the arcade and bring the kids to the childrens play area. It was wonderful. The grounds are beautiful. IF it's two minutes from Sea World, it's JUST two minutes from Sea World. It is a ways away from US and Disney but not TOO far. I am going to see if I have some pictures and post them.
