Marriott's Cypress Harbour or Harbour Lake with Toddler?

I posted this in the Hotels forum as well, but I really wanted opinions from others with youngsters as to which would be better.

Please help me decide where to stay! The two hotels I'm looking at are both undergoing renovations and I'm not sure which is best suited for children overall. I'm also worried about DS not having his own room.

It is only me, DH and our DS (2 years old).

I've narrowed our stay down to either Marriott's Harbour Lake with a 1 BR Villa (that we can get for $158/night) or Marriott's Cypress Harbour with a 2 BR Villa (that we'd get for $183/night). 2 BR villa at Harbour Lake is $215, so I'd rather not do that.

Originally, I wanted Harbour Lake because I heard it has the pirate ship pool, plus I felt like we didn't need the extra space of a 2BR. But the pool is being renovated the first few days of our stay and should be open mid-way through. Though the note on the site said the children's pool will remain open the entire time. (It sounds like the reno here is much less than at Cypress)

At Cypress Harbour, the Island pool, beach area, roof and a few other things are being majorly renovated for the entire time of our stay. The note said the Clubhouse and Bayside pools would be open. (Not sure if these are kid friendly pools or not).

Originally, I was thinking a 1 BR with DS sleeping on the pull-out couch would be fine. Then, I got to thinking that he'd be in in the same room as the kitchen and I got to worrying about if he got out of bed and got into trouble while we were sleeping. He has never gotten out of bed by himself on a pull-out couch in other hotels we've stayed at, I'm a very light sleeper and always wake up whenever he does, and we'd have our door propped open so we could hear him.

Am I being too worried about this and he'd probably be fine in a 1BR? Which hotel would you stay at if you had a toddler?

Thanks!

I have never stayed at Cypress Harbour (my mom has but said it was not as child friendly as Harbour lakes) but we have stayed at Harbour Lakes 4 times. my sons were from 2 to 7 at the times. They love it there. It is great and both pools are so kid friendly. plus all of the other things they have there make it worth while. I totally vote for Harbour lakes.

Thank you so much! Someone on the hotels forum also mentioned Harbour as being more kid friendly. This makes me much happier with my choice. I had gone ahead and reserved it since they were already filling up, but of course, that's when the doubt sets in.:scared:

You've helped calm my nerves!
