Hello all...well, I've always been a true blue WDW on-site visitor but I just can't seem to justify the prices anymore. We are FL residents and have decided on a quick 2 night trip over Memorial Day Weekend. We are only going to one of the water parks and then hanging out for the rest of the time. I have two active boys (5 & 8) who love to swim so we wanted to stay in a place with a nice pool.

I've booked a pool view room at Marriott for a great rate...we are cashing in on some points we had (and will never use otherwise).

I would like your thoughts about this hotel and, specifically, the pool area. The pictures look nice on the internet site.

We also looked at Gaylord Palms...a little more pricey but the pool looked small.

Thanks for any comments you have!
Beth

You will be pleased. The MOWC has one of the best pool areas in Orlando. I counted at least 6 pools, including one with a slide and one indoor one. There is every type for any taste.

The hotel is a convention hotel, a four star with service to match. Don't expect theming or magic, it's not that kind of hotel. It IS beautiful though. I stayed on a Priceline bid back in 2000 and loved it.

I agree it is a very nice hotel. I have stayed there several times and always has a good time. The commute to Disney is VERY easy.

My only complaint is that they now charge $5 for self parking! When you compare that to other hotels in their market I think it is a rip-off, but.....

going back to MOWC for the 2nd time in 3 years. The only conundrum is if Gaylord Palms runs a July FL rez special we will cancel MOWC since Gaylord is tops on our Orlando to-do lst.

FLgirl, the MOWC is a wonderful hotel but as others pointed out a big convention hotel. That really shouldn't have an impact on the pools though since most of the people at the conventions are kept busy.

Noticed you live in Naples...to me that is one of the prettiest areas of FL and I love the beaches down there.

We've lived in Naples for almost 11 years. It is a beautiful place to live but getting very expensive for the average family. As nice as it is, it's still great to escape home for a weekend here and there to our "home away from home" in Disney!

Thanks for your help!
