Marriott/Westin/DVC, I did it! thanks to you!

This is to all my friends who were kind enough to give me adivise while I was trying to figure out if buying into DVC was the route if I planned on trading to go to the islands every other year. I signed the contract and sent it out today for my SSR points. I bought 270, enough to trade out to a 2BDR to the islands and other places and return home to disney every 2 years. I went through calling them all my friends, Marriott, Westin the whole gamma, absorbing as much info as I could and listening to their selling speil..and what finally helped me decide was this. I called Interval International on 2 seperate occassions and asked them one simple question. "Is it easier to own DVC and trade out to and Island like St. John's Westin Resort or Hawaii, OR is it easier to own at Westin St. Johns Resort or a Marriott and trade into a Disney on site resort" and both times from 2 different people I was told, it was BY FAR eaiser to trade out of DVC than trade into, of course you can't wait to the last minute to book out. This was my deciding factor, and I feel as though the weight of the word has been lifted off my shoulders!! No I can have my cake and eat it too!! That depends on when you want to go to WDW. If you could go Jan, early Feb, May, Sept, or Oct; it would be far easier to trade into DVC. HI and Westin St. John will be easier as well for those same times plus early Dec, but DVC will be more available during those times. I still think buying less DVC points AND another timeshare would have been better and not any more money in the long run.
