Going to Orlando for the second time in June. Last year we stayed in kissimmee and loved It but we thought we would try Lake Buena Vista. We have booked to stay in the Marriott Village. Has anyone been here? Also how far is the nearest publix or other supermarket? What are the shuttles like as we are not hiring a car. Any info would be appreciated.

The marriot is huge. I think they said it is the biggest marriot in the world. It is very, very fancy. Beautiful. Huge pool. I never saw anything like this marriot. Not sure about the publix but there are grocery stores all over the area.

I think you are talking about the Marriott World Center on 536. The Marriott Village I believe is on Vineland, off 535.

Its the marriott Village in Vineland Road. the one was are staying in is the Springhill Suites. (Sorry for any confusion).

We've stayed there a few times. Springhill is nice since it has the free breakfast every day. While they do have shuttles to the parks, they aren't all that convenient. Any chance you could rent a car?

Publix is the best grocery store in the area IMO, but no grocery store is within walking distance. However, there is a food court of sorts (Pizza Hut, Starbucks, can't remember what else)--you can also buy other food items there like drinks and chips and candy.

BTW, each of the Marriott properties there has its own pool, and you can use any of them during your stay. We really like the one at the Courtyard! :sunny:

Marriott Village is in a great location. We have stayed at the Courtyard in the past.

As stated, the scheduled busses are not that great, but with careful planning, it should be OK.

The foodcourt is convenient..we used it several evenings for munchies and ice cream.

The Courtyard does not participate in the free breakfast, however I overheard the check-in rep telling the people they were checking in that they could still partake. Our check-in did not tell us that.

this complex is close to the Crossroads where there is a groery store, but an expensive on. Not sure if I would want to walk there.

Is there a local bus service like the one we used to use in Kissimmee i think it was called the lynx. We used to jump on this all the time. I am begining to wonder if we should have gone back to Kissimmee. Is this place a little out of the way?

The Publix is close but not within walking distance or at least you wouldn't want to walk there. Lots of traffic on the road leading to the outlets. Publix is around the back of the outlets.

We stayed at the Courtyard there I believe (can't remember exactly, it was when it first opened) and we really enjoyed the location (very close to Downtown Disney road), and the new Publix closeby now is very nice. It is a nice, kind of separate area. You'll like it!

I personally would not choose Kissimee over Lake Buena Vista in any way. Have done both and will always choose Lake Buena Vista.

The complex is right at the intersection of 535 and Downtown Disney. If the bus schedule was not exactly what we needed, we would take the hotel bus to Downtown Disney and use their busses with the Hotel Bus.
