Marriott Village- Walking Distance?

Hi ya'll-

I'm a little new here to DIS but I love the boards. I'm planning our honeymoon for the end of June/beginning of July, and I was interested in the hotels at Marriott Village (Fairfield Inn, Courtyard, and Summerfield Suites). I've seen conflicting reports as to whether or not the MV property is within walking distance (about a mile or so is walking distance for the future Mrs. and I) of Downtown Disney, and/or possibly Animal Kingdom. Can anyone shed any light to this subject? Any help would be greatly appreciated. TIA!

I would say it would be a bit far to walk from that area to Downtown Disney - you also would have to cross a couple major intersections that have extremely heavy traffic.

Congratulations! Well, the Animal Kingdom is definitely NOT within walking distance, it's about a 15 minute drive from there. I suppose if you wanted to, you could (I say that tentatively) walk from there to Downtown Disney, although it's probably over a mile, and you would have to cross a very busy 6 lane-type street. But, if you're adventurous, it might be possible....I wouldn't do it in the 90 degree heat of summer, but maybe during winter.

I would also say that it is too long a walk to DTD from the Marriott Village. The MV has a good location for an off propety complex. However, it is not walking distance to anything Disney.

AK is nowhere near the Marriott Village.

If you are looking for a Marriott property within walking distance to DTD, try the Courtyard LBV in Walt Disney World on Hotel Plaza Blvd. While it is not a Disney hotel, it is on Disney property and is a short walk to DTD.
