I am considering staying here one night before our Disney Cruise - family of 5.

I thought having the Marriott World Center pool available to us to use would be fun for the kids . Found a AAA rate of $134 a night for a 2 bedroom condo ... sounds like a good deal to me and we would have plenty of room to spread out. Has anyone stayed at either place ? How was the property and how far was it to get from the condos to the World Center? Any info would be much appreciated !!! Thanks  Cindy

I used to work for Marriott. We stayed at the Sabal Palms. They were very nice. Our 2 bedroom had a huge kitchen, dining & living room with full sized fridge, dishwasher, washer & dryer. The master bedroom had a king bed, giant tub and giant shower. The 2nd bedroom had 2 twin beds. We had a screened patio that overlooked the golf course. It was very quiet. We did go to the hotel pool a couple of times, but it was quite a ways away. (You have to drive - 3 or 4 minutes) We had a small pool near our unit that we loved, cuz it was always just us.

The price sounds great!

We have not stayed there, only visited to look around the grounds. Some villas at Sabal are very close to the hotel, an easy short walk. The villa buildings are a bit spread out, so that Royal Palms is a longer walk. But they do offer a free shuttle van to bring you back and forth between any of the villas and the main hotel building lobby. Just call them on the phone and they come right over to pick you up (gratuity appreciated, I'm sure). It's an option if your villa assignment is further away.

Thanks for the info ... I think we'll give it a try. I just reserved Sabal Palms ... maybe we will be close enough to walk over to the World Center. If not, the shuttle sounds convenient.

Lisa P. - I see in your signature you stayed at Grand Vista. We will be there 3 days after our cruise ! How did you like it .... any pointers you can give would be much appreciated as well !!!

Thanks:smooth:

We really enjoyed the Marriott Grande Vista... would return in an instant. If you like golf, request a golf view. If you will have children along, request a room near the main pool area. There's more to do over there for the kids, including an indoor play area and occasional organized activities. It's quite different in style, from OKW (taller buildings, tiled exterior), but I'm sure you will enjoy it! :) There are some very loyal return visitors at MGV!

There's no pool slide at MGV. So if that matters to you, try to take advantage of the slide at the MOWC, when you are at Sabal Palms. MOWC offers an impressive pool area! Remember that you can use your Sabal Palms room ID to charge food & purchases at the MOWC. Enjoy both visits!
