We received an offer from Marriott rewards for a 5day/4night stay with a tour of Horizons for $199 (2 bedroom villa).

Has anyone taken the tour at Horizons or know the property? It's been a few years since we've done a timeshare tour, but this is a good offer. (Like to save the $$ so we can spend more for our on-property stay!)

kids are ages 13,11,and 4. Any info on the rooms, pool, cafe, activities would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I would jump on it. We only get calls from Marriott Rewards for Newport Beach since we are in Salt Lake City, and I wish we got some for Orlando since we go usually at least once a year and could tack it onto our DVC stays! I really want to try Horizons while my girls are small. It seems like a fun place with lots of activities for kids.

6 of us stayed there in Nov. We trade our TS every year and go to Orlando every other year. I like Horizons very much, I think you'll enjoy the place, we did :goodvibes:

I just have to call and confirm the dates, I'm very confident about the resorts, I'm sure my boys will love it, they were born part pirate: When are you planning on going?

Where do you sign up to get on a list to get called for timeshare promos?

We are doing the same tour but be warned, its not easy to get into Horizons. I said no to offer at first and they "upgraded" us to the two bedroom and finally said yes b/c Horizons seemed nice and that's what the sales person referenced, staying there. We called as soon as possible, over 6months before stay and multiple times after that but they really only opened up Cypress Harbour and Royal Palms for those doing the tour. [Its fair, owners should have priority.] Staying at Horizons was never really part of the deal for our dates but the primary reason we said yes to promo. Anyway, I'm sure we'll be fine with CHR, suppose to be very nice and still a good deal. Just don't get totally focused on staying at Horizons, didn't work out for us. Salesperson only mentioned Horizons, the others didn't come up until I tried to call the number for reservations.

Same here for us. When salesperson called he only "mentioned" Horizons. Acutally as it turned out the tour was of Horizons but our accommodations were at another property. Staying at Horizons wasn't even an option. We tried for mths to get into the vacation club at Sea World, Renaissance, but our dates never became available. We stayed at the Sabal Palms. SP doesn't compare AT ALL to Horizons. Horizons was beautiful and would love to stay there sometime. We haved also stayed at the Grande Vista before as well. We thought it was nice but still not as nice as Horizons.

We are Marriott Rewards members and that is why we received our offers.

Good luck. It sounds like a good deal.

Same with us. We are touring Grande Vista in June. If we took the one bedroom offer it would be to stay at Grande Vista but with six we had to upgrade to a two bedroom. They never mentioned it would be at Cypress Harbour though.

When i got my confirmation after booking the dates it said Cypress Harbour :confused3 So, I called them back and he said ohhh yeah if you need the upgrade you are put in CH not GV,that is for owners only. Okay, thanks for letting me know AFTER the fact. But, they were so nice and they waived the upgrade fee because they didn't have my first choice in dates, for 4 nights at $199 and we get $100 cash back after the tour I will "suffer" at CH :rotfl2:

Was this offer for people that already own the timeshare or is this to try to sell you the timeshare? We were looking at Star Island Resort & Club that is offering 3 nights and 2 attraction tickets for $249. + tax.
We were leaning towards Star Island because my Sister-in-law went to the presentation last year and said it had very little pressure.

Thanks,
Frank

littlestar - what awesome pictures! Looks like you were there at a slow time...hardly anyone in the pictures. Do you have timeshare ownership there or were you doing the tour? What do you think of the accomodations?
Thanks.

We stayed at Horizons for a few nights on cash before we checked into DVC on our Disney points (we were Marriott rewards members and used the code M11) to book our cash nights at Horizons. We had a one bedroom at Horizons.

WE loved it so much that when we got home we found a great deal on an EOY (every other year) week at Horizons in Branson - a lock off unit - and bought it. Now we're II (Interval International) members and we can either trade into Horizons or book II getaway weeks in the off season and stay at Marriott Cypress Harbour or Horizons pretty much whenever we want to for reasonable. I just booked a II getaway for our friends in May and the week only cost a little over $500 for the week in a 1 bedroom. We've actually downsized our DVC points a little because we love staying at Marriott so much. ;)

Kids will have a week break from school in October so hopefully we'll go then.

We are Marriott rewards members so I guess we are on a list because of that.

Our postcard specifically states a 2 bedroom at Horizons. When I called the phone # to inquire I asked if we would be required to stay somewhere else and just take the tour at Horizons or if the stay was at Horizons. When she put my info in her computer she said the stay would also be at Horizons. Guess that they send out quite a few different packages/tours.

This offer requires us to take a tour of Horizons in hopes to get us to buy a timeshare.

Thanks for the replies everyone! I think we'll purchase it (we have to purchase it w/i two weeks but have a year to set the dates and complete the stay.)

Our offer was Horizons too but when there are no openings at Horizons, other Marriotts pop up to book. Good luck and try to book early. You'll have the best luck in slower season so its good you aren't looking at spring break or xmas.

I think they open up resorts about 6 months out for making reservations. If you bought the package, you might want to make your October reservations now at Horizons.

My parents are owners at Horizons and its fabulous. Great service, family friendly and well maintained. We were going to stay there again this october but a friend offered us his points to stay at Bonnet Creek in a 4bdrm and just couldnt pass that up! These are times when I wish we were born with that silver spoon in my mouth because id lve to own at BC and horizons and do 2 weeks at disney on the monorail loop.....LMAO! Wishful thinking huh!

You will love Horizons. We were a party of 15 staying in 2 2bedrooms and loved it! We had 5 kids with us from toddler to 9 yrs old and not one of them got bored, we did two days at universal but the rest we spent at the resort. Oh, we did go to DTD for an afternoon.

Have fun!
