Has anyone stayed at either or both of these Marriotts? Which would be better suited for small children. I am leaning towards the Grand Vista but the Cypress Harbour seems to have better rates. Any information is much appreciated.

Thank you.

Both are family oriented and having stayed at both and owning at Grande Vista, in my opinion you can't go wrong with either resort. That being said I think Grande Vista has a slightly more upscale feel to it than Cypress Harbour. Cypress probably has a little better kids program than Grande Vista. I'm sure which ever resort you choose to stay at you'll enjoy very much. Have a great vacation!!! I'm looking forward to our next vacation at Grande Vista in June of 04.

Thanks Harryo for the encouragement. It looks like Cypress Harbour it is. Now to find out which section to request. Any suggestions, or are they all ok?

Thanks again.

Hi Harryo,
I am going to Grande Vista in December. Can you tell me which building is best to request? We check in on a Sunday and need nonsmoking. Also will have kids, so it would be nice to be close to the pool.
Thanks, Becky

Here you go Becky,

We have stayed in buildings 93, 94 and most recently building 95 all three of these buildings are less than a 2 min walk to the main pool area and they offer a golf course view from your balcony. Hope this helps. Have a great vacation!

I recently received an offer in the mail advertising 5 days/4 nights at this resort for only $199.00 (MGV). You would have to go on a personal tour and sit through a sales presentation lasting 90 minutes. Has any one done this? I have heard in the past people sitting through time share presentations to get free tickets, etc., but never considered it myself. but this offer and resort seemed wonderful?? What do you think? I would have to book by the end of the month? Thanks

I say go for it!! The $199.00 is probably for a studio with a king bed, and sleep sofa, small sink and microwave, and coffeemaker. You may book a larger unit if needed for a higher price. The sales pitch is very low key and pretty informative.

Marriott presentations are very painless. The sales person will scoot you through very quickly if they realize you have no interest. It's unlikely that it will take the full 90-minutes, unless you start negotiating. They are very professional and personable.

We took the bait in Maui and ended up buying there. We were very comfortable with the entire visit, presentation/tour, and our purchase.

I had booked a promo in April for a stay in October. However, after a stress fracture to the spine I had to cancel. Our original offer was for a studio for 249.00 with two tickets to either, DW, SW, IOA, or Universal. But, this week my agent called to see why I had cancelled and told me if you book and travel before Dec. 20 you can upgrade to a larger unit for free. So we are now going Dec. 4-11 in a two bedroom unit at Cypress Harbour for 249.00 total. This still includes the tickets also. If anyone is interested you can get the deal by going to Tug.net and clicking on member promotions I think. The current owner will refer you, and Marriott Vacations will call you and offer you the package.

I just booked this package and was able to get my dates (President's week 2004)!!!! I upgraded to a two bedroom. This cost an extra $199, then I added two more nights at $149 each. And since we wanted a two bedroom we are going to be in the Cypress Harbour resort. I can't wait. I've heard great things about this resort.
