Is making a request for a certain building through MGV like making a request through Disney? What I guess I should be asking is when should I be making our building request?

Also, should I let them know when I call that we will be taking the tour?

Or should I just wait until we check in and make the building/floor/whatever else request?

I'm staying here in a few weeks, and I called a few weeks ago to have my requests noted on the reservation. Of course, nothing is guaranteed.

Not sure about the tour thing...is the rate you have contingent on you doing the tour? I'm sure they'll ask you at checkin if you want to do the tour and set you up then (atleast that's what happened to me at Sheraton's Vistana Resort).

Hope this helps :D

The only reason that we are taking the tour is as a favor to our parents. They own 2 Marriott timeshares and they get a slew of points for refering people to take the tours. We could care less about Marriott.... we want a DVC!

Please let us know how your stay was and how the construction was and what building you stayed in and all that kind of good stuff. I would really appreciate it as well as others I am sure.

Have a great trip!

We have stayed at Grande Vista several times and found it to be very nice each time.

They do have smoking and non-smoking buildings, so if you want one or the other I would call and get that request on your reservation. Some of the buildings are on the golf course, so a high floor gets you a better view.

Unless they have changed their ways, the sales office will call you within 24 hours of you checking in, to try to get you to go to the presentation. We have declined everytime, so I can't help with whether or not it is high pressure.

Hope that helps.........

I can't believe that I'll be there in 16 days!! YIPEE!!:Pinkbounc

I will gladly post my thoughts, etc when I get back.

I will probably end up taking the tour (depending on what they have to offer)....I already own at Vistana.
