Marriott Grand Vista: breaks during the day possible xmas week?

Hi - I'm helping a friend plan their trip next month - - she's staying at the Marriott Grand Vista from 12/21 to 12/28. I told her I didn't think breaks during the day would be possible, b/c they might not be able to get back into the parks if they left.

But I thought I should confirm that here. Am I right, or can you leave the parks mid day, drive to your off-site hotel, and drive back - - during Christmas week? We've only stayed on-site & used Disney busses, so I have no experience here.

it is close enough - but I think you are correct.

if they want to see the night time stuff - it is probably best not to leave. even some orlando residents will stay at the Polyn and other wdw resort during this time.
