Sorry if this has already been discussed. But I found the following announcement on my monthly newsletter from MouseSavers.

Marriott Vacation Club International Opens New Property at Disneyland Resort Paris
On June 16, Marriott Vacation Club International and Euro Disney SCA announced the opening of Marriott's first vacation ownership resort in France, Marriott's Village d'Ile-de-France at Disneyland Resort Paris.

Set in the countryside of the scenic Marne-la-Vallee region, 20 miles east of Paris, this Marriott property offers access to the adjacent Disney parks and Golf Disneyland, a golf course designed by Ronald Fream.

Creating the atmosphere of a quaint French country village, the resort will be built in six distinct town home phases, each inspired by the rural residences of French Impressionist painters. The resort's first phase of 44 town homes is modeled after Monet's Giverny country home and gardens. In the heart of the village lies a charming Town Square with a flower shop and bakery, and an indoor pool reminiscent of a late 19th century crystal greenhouse.

Upon completion, Marriott's Village d'Ile-de-France at Disneyland Resort Paris will contain 190 two-bedroom/two-bath town houses, each with 1,130 square feet (101.7 square meters) of living area for six guests. Features include master suites with oversized tubs, spacious living and dining areas, fully equipped kitchens, washer/dryers and patios with golf course views.

Pre-construction sales for Marriott's Village d'Ile-de-France commenced April 2002. Current prices range from $13,900 to $28,300 per week of ownership. Yes, I think that Marriott's Village d'Ile-de-France will be added to the World Passport Collection list. The two new Marriotts in Hawaii (at Ko'Olina and Poipu) aren't on the World Passport Collection yet either. But, as far as I know, all other Marriott Vacation Clubs, except for those in Orlando, are on the list.

I'm not sure what DVC is waiting for. There may not yet be an appreciable amount of exchange activity, so DVC may not want to publish resorts that DVC members are unlikely to get. Or the new resorts may just have missed the last update cycle of the list.

And, although the new Marriotts aren't shown on the PDF files at the DVC Member site, you could still ask Member Services about them. It's possible that they've already been added to the system, but just not yet put into the PDF files.

Take a look at About the Resort. Scroll down to the "Printable PDF map with directions," to see where this new Marriott timeshare is located in relation to the theme parks and other features of Disneyland Paris.

My guess is that Marriott's Village d'Ile-de-France will be a very difficult trade in the summer, as d'Ile-de-France owners occupy their condos, and as other Marriott owners exchange in with the Marriott priority. But during less busy seasons, DVC members will have a reasonable chance.

I too suspect all the new Marriott's and Grande Residence will be added with the possible exception of Ocean Pointe since it's fairly close to VB. I wouldn't be surprised if the HH options dropped off though. Marriott is also building in North Myrtle Beach.

JMHO, but I don't think having a timeshare unit available through II is actually much of a help/attraction for DVC members while we have the possibility to use points at the DLP hotels ( which includes park tickets). DLP is really only a 2 or 3 day destination at best. I really think that people would be far better served using their points in the DLP hotels for two nights ( 3 days access to the parks) and then moving on to another destination in Europe.

I agree — but only for people who are happy staying in a regular hotel room and who don't mind moving after a few days.

For families that like to stay in a 2BR condo with a living/dining room, kitchen, 2 bathrooms, and washer and dryer, Marriott's Village d'Ile-de-France may be a better choice. In other words, families that enjoy staying a week or so in a 2BR unit at one of the DVC resorts may prefer something similar at Disneyland Paris.

And while Disneyland Paris itself is only good for two or three days, there are plenty of other things to do using Marriott's Village d'Ile-de-France as a starting point. There's RER rail service to Paris, with RER and Metro stations throught the city. And for folks who don't mind driving a car in France, there are lots of possible day trips.

It will be nice to have a choice between the Disney Collection and the World Passport Collection for Disneyland Paris. (I'm hoping to do a Marriott-to-Marriott trade one of these years, but if I weren't a Marriott owner, I would seriously consider a DVC World Passport Collection stay.)

Do you have any other info to add about the Marriott in North MB? Is there any webpages with pictures and location? I can't seem to find anything about this resort.

To relate this back to DVC... This is another indication the the World Passport Collection will become more and more valuable as developers such as Marriott build new, high quality resorts, affiliated with II.

Do you really think the new resorts in hawaii will be added?I was hoping there would be some more options of nice resorts to stay at in Hawaii. Right the only ones that look nice are the Marriott Kauai and Marriott Maui Beach Club. I really hope there added.

Absolutely, I can think of no reason for DVC not to add them. DVC seems slow at adding new resorts so I'm not surprised it hasn't been done already. For HI, there are a number of options that should be added. The Westin on Kaanaplai is opening this fall. The Embassy's (Kaanapali and Kauai) have just joined II and are both worthy of being added. The new Marriott's (Kauai and Oahu) I'm sure will be added soon. There may be others but I can't think of any appropriate at this time. I wouldn' be surprised also if some are dropped like SOK and the Schooner.

Werner gave the info for MB. It will be in a resort area called Grand Dunes and Marriott is building a hotel next door and certain amenties can be shared. It will be a large complex with 12 story buildings and looks nice I'm contemplating a week there but it doesn't look like it's going to work out.

You're right they may, but few American families visiting Europe have the time to spare to make DLP a worthwhile destination for that time frame. The primary reason for staying at the Marriotte would be to visit DLP, with the ticketing option the DLP hotels make better economic sense, for travelling around France there are plenty of other (better IMHO) choices , after all if you're only using the resort as a base from which to explore you are not getting much use of the facilities. Although due to the much colder and wetter weather in that part of France, there is only a limited amount of time per year that you would actually use any of the hotel facilities. I guess if you want to stay in your room and watch French TV, then it's better to be in a larger unit, but other than that I don't think it's an option I would advise anyone to take. Far better to do a couple of days at DLP, stay in Paris itself for a couple of days and then travel south to enjoy the better climate of the south of France, Italy or Spain JMHO.

We stayed in the New York hotel for 7 nights last August using DVC points. While we enjoyed our stay we would have enjoyed it better with bigger accomadation.

We went to view the Marriott resort while we were there. It is really nice, but a bit to expensive for us. I would be very interested in staying there using points. It would make a great base to visit Paris and the sorrounding area. I will be keeping a close eye on the listings.
