Married at First Sight

I'm catching up on the honeymoon today. I think Doug should run and run fast, his positive attitude won't ever overcome Jamie's negativity. She's disgusting, but I figure it's just her "part" in this show.

I feel so bad for Doug. That poor guy may not be the best-looking man, but to be humiliated like that on national TV for his looks.

I think the show is very interesting. I find myself really rooting for the couples to make it.

I don't dislike Jamie at all. I think she's had a tough life and it is hard for her to be vulnerable and trusting. Doug seems like a really patient guy and if he hangs in there they could really come together in the end.

I just caught up on the honeymoon episode today, and I thought it was very telling that Jamie admitted that she likes him, but didn't want him to know it. Something tells me she will learn to get past his looks and really grow to love him. I hope so anyway, since I am a hopeless romantic. :lovestruc

Vaughn and Monet may be a little too alike to be a good match. They are both "alpha" personalities which may cause some struggles. Monet seems to be really trying, but Vaughn seems more focused on physical compatibility instead of emotional compatibility.

Starting to watch the moving in episode now. I think this will be most telling.

Really not sure how Monet and Vaughn are going to work. It seems like he wanted a vivacious extrovert, but didn't realize what living with one is actually like. I think that in his traditional gender roles, he was also looking for submissive, and I don't know that that's how Monet interprets traditional gender roles.

I love Jamie and Doug. I really do. She comes across as so harsh, but I really think she is coming around. I read an interview with her where she talked about her commitment issues. Apparently "bad home life" really means a stepfather who choked, beat, and threatened her mom with a gun. She herself experienced emotional abuse from her first two relationships. I can see how she has trust issues and difficulties opening up to people, particularly men. But, in a weird way, I think it will help them in the long run. It's causing the relationship to develop more slowly, which I think is going to be beneficial.

Courtney and Jason are adorable. But, they both seem much younger than they are so I hope they can grow together

I don't get the FYI channel so I've had to catch episodes online wherever I can find them , but I'm all caught up now. I'm hooked.

Monet and Vaughn seem most likely to divorce. I mean to be fighting so soon....

Not saying it's her fault, because ideally you'd pick a partner that appreciates this, but she would be "too much" for me. While he certainly could have been nicer in his approach, I sympathize with his personality. My husband and I both like to unwind when we aren't at work - don't talk much, catch up on TV or computer stuff. We'll watch shows together and make comments but I think we'd annoy each other if talked a lot at home haha! I know other couples that talk constantly and even call each other frequently throughout the day to chat. Nothing wrong with either couple, but you have to pair up with someone in your "mode".

When she was yelling fom the next room about seeing something on facebook, I cringed. Walking in the door to relationship analysis would have sent me running out the door too. My mode is definately more "quiet". I don't think they are going to make it. He is very set in his ways, and she seems overbearing. She needs a Kanye West personality and he needs more Greta Garbo.

In the beginning, I really thought Monet and Vaughn were a sure thing.
But watching last night I am thinking somebody answered the survey questions all wrong. They are not on the same page at all.
When he said he doesn't like to talk on Sundays?? Huh?
Well thats not really possible when you live with your spouse because talking is what people do. Wait till he has a kid or 2....... OUI he will hear "daddy" 6,476 times a day and you have to answer or they just keep calling......

Jamie and Doug are the ones who tug at my heartstrings for sure.
I did not like her in the beginning, but she is melting me. She is really lucky to have found a patient loving man like Doug. His family seems wonderful too.
She now has a husband she can count on and a family.

The other two, I can't even remember their names (my bad), She has debt that she is bringing in and he's a saver and budgeter that may cause issues.
They do seem very immature and young. I hope it works out.
I feel bad he moved away from his mom who counts on him, I hope someone else has stepped up to help her out.

I agree with all of this. The last couple if she can learn from him they can do well together too, they make such a cute couple.

I also wasn't a Jamie fan in the beginning, but now I'm team Jamie and want to see the two of them make it. I also think they make a great looking couple. He's really not bad looking. I think it's his good inside that comes out and shows.

Looking forward to next week. I love seeing snippets of Brooklyn and NYC, I miss it there.

Did anyone see the cast on The View today? I was all set to watch it when local news broke in over a shooting in Chicago and preempted the whole segment. :furious:

Just curious about what they had to say.

I did without knowing they were on. I happen to turn on the TV just as they were coming on. Jamie beams when she talks about Doug, so I'm hoping they're still doing well and they all said that Courtney and her husband should be the ones that really make it.

I really like these women, they seem real.

Jamie said Doug is the most amazing man she knows.

I'm glad she got past her shallowness.

DH and I started watching this after I read about it last week on this board.

That being said, I agree that Jamie and Doug should make it.

Monet and Vaughn, I doubt they will make it. They both seem too headstrong.

Courtney and Jason are great together. I thought I saw a blurb in an upcoming episode where she said that they were in marriage counseling, so if they are having issues, I think it is great that they are working on them.

We both really enjoy this show.

Am I the only one that thinks Doug is attractive? I don't like the moles particularly, but I don't get why people act like he isn't handsome.

Nope, I think he is a cutie, and has a sense of humor and a great personality.
