Marriage: The Trip Report - Update 2/28 - Final Thoughts & Link to Disneyland TR!

Brook- Disneyland Adventures is just for XBox 360 Kinect. You actually get to interact with characters by hugging them or shaking hands. I think the box said it features 32 Disneyland attractions. It looks like a lot of fun.

I am so incredibly jealous of your Disneyland/cruise trip, you have no idea. Reading about all you travel agents and your trips makes me want to become one (but I am a terrible sales person I know). Disneyland is awesome. It is SO different from WDW (I've said it before, but before I first went I was afraid I'd get bored going there over WDW) but my opinions quickly changed once I actually went. As my dad always says, any true Disney fan has to visit Disneyland! Can't wait to hear your thoughts about it.

Brook, your new plans sound very exciting. And, as I wrote to you on FB, I'm keeping all of you in my thoughts and prayers.

Thank you Kathy! I will post an update once I hear - tomorrow is the day for Grandma.

Wow Brook - I'm so excited for you that you will get to cruise on the Wonder (my first cruise was on that beautiful ship back in 2000). Are you guys still planning on doing the Magic in June - I hope you are.

Yes! We are! It's up in the air a bit on the MR, but the June plans are solid. :thumbsup2

That sounds like so much fun! Too bad they don't make it for the other game systems. I bet you guys will have a blast with that on Christmas morning!

I recall your trips over there! I'm SO excited to see the first park! I know it will have a very different vibe, but I'm looking forward to that. I hope I can squeeze in quite a bit in my short time.

While browsing through the gift shop after the Animation Academy we decided now would be a good time to hit up the Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground. We cut through Pixar Place (which sometimes it's NOT a good idea with the crowds), but we had a purpose...to meet Buzz and/or Woody on our way to the playground!

The plan worked well. There was a small wait to meet the toys, but that queue is very cute and fun.

Attractive, isn't it?

Even better.

The door for Cast Members

And soon it was our turn! It was just Buzz, but Henry didn't mind a bit.

Soon we were at the Honey I Shrunk the Kids Playground! Despite it always being as hot as the surface of the sun in there, we always have fun!

Henry took a turn down "his slide"

1213205685_EzwfZ-L.jpg

We have a picture of him from every trip on this slide.

After two times down that little slide he remembered..."Now the big slide!"

Video: Henry going down the slide (12 seconds of pure excitement!)

5,278 slides later we actually convinced him to explore some other areas of the playground for a bit. Then decided it was time to head out of the park and back to the Boardwalk for a rest.

The ESPN the Weekend stuff was going on and boy was that LOUD! We had meant to check some of it out, but it just never happened.

We decided we'd take advantage of the walkway once again, I just love that this is an option for the Epcot area resorts.

And to no surprise, Henry crashed out on the way back home to the Boardwalk

We left him snoozin' in the stroller and I took advantage of the time to get a few things done while Joe rested with Henry. I got the laundry started....tomorrow would be our moving day to BLT (the TR is almost half done :lmao:) and we were almost out of clothes. While I waited for them to wash I went up to the front desk to straighten out the credits from breakfast. I stood in line for about 10 minutes only to be ushered over to the empty concierge desk. Annoying. Then that Cast Member did not say ONE SINGLE word to me. Not even a hello. :sad2: It took a while to reverse the charge and transfer it to a dining credit, but it worked just fine. I had read reports of resorts getting the "multiple dining plan" option with DVC all mixed-up and having to get several sets of key cards, but we didn't, we even kept the same ones we already had, the credits had just became active on them. Despite how long it took, and the unfriendly Cast Member, it worked smoothly.

Eventually laundry was done, Henry was awake and we were on our way back to Hollywood Studios to use those Toy Story Mania FastPasses!

Sorry to hear that things have been so stressful for you lately. Prayers for your Grandma for tomorrow. You are blessed to have her:goodvibes Hoefully prices will come down for your cruise and you will all get to go:thumbsup2

I love that Buzz and Woody queue too! It is soooo cute. We missed them on our last trip as the lines were just so crazy. AND, Im so ready for you guys to get to BLT---my FAVORITE!! Love the family pic...adorable as always!

Hugs and thoughts for your Grandma and Dad. :goodvibes

Nice tour of DHS. I love the Buzz line pictures. My favorite is you with the aliens.

I am a little bummed that they discontinued the perk that you could add the Dining plan to certain days. :sad2:

Glad you are almost halfway done. :rotfl: Well not glad but ... you know what I mean.

How are you going to squeeze your 2 other trips in there before Feb. ?

:lmao: You do make a pretty fantastic pirate!!! That's a great costume-where did you find it?
I think I got it from costumes.com or something like that. :confused3

Yep, they changed the name in February from Playhouse Disney. I'm not entirely sure why??? But with the change they added in Jake and the Neverland Pirates show, which is very cute and successful!
Because the Disney channel got rid of playhouse Disney and turned into Disney Junior. Sounds more mature now, doesn't it? :lmao:

Thank you! I always love a dancing banana!
Is that tag fairy still around? :confused3 :rotfl::rotfl:

Kids Sail Free Tim! It would be a cheap trip! (the flight is one of the more expensive elements unfortunately!)
Not. Gonna. Research. It. :sad2:

(although I want to.... :rolleyes1:rolleyes1 )

Sending good thoughts your way for your grandma and dad!

Every time I see that Toy Story queue, I always think it's the neatest thing ever. I also love how it looks like they're taking the character photos on the bed. I'm always like "how do they do that???? It looks so good!!".

Brook, another great update! I loved all the pictures of the meet&greet queue. Since I never would get into that line, it was great to see what it looked like! :goodvibes

Oh, and I loved your pictures of the walk from DHS to the Boardwalk. Katharina and I walked that so often in October and just loved the ability to get there on our own speed without having to wait for any transportation. :cloud9:

Thank you!

BLT is coming soooooooooon! I can see why it's your favorite. I still like the BWV most, but yearn to go back to BLT just for the location and the CR Tower.

Hugs and thoughts for your Grandma and Dad. :goodvibes

How are you going to squeeze your 2 other trips in there before Feb. ?

I'm a total nut! There were a couple other ridiculous pictures in there, but they were of just me being absurd/making faces at the camera and not with a prop, so I left those out and figured you'd get enough of my punchy attitude at that moment with the aliens and Stinky Pete.

I didn't realize they ended that perk! BOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Yes, there was an element of hassle, but it was SO worth it sometimes! :sad2:

I have no idea how I'm going to get all this done before February. I'll literally have to post every single day I think!

I think I got it from costumes.com or something like that. :confused3

:lmao: That tag fairy better stay away from that one! :scared1:

So, did you research it? ;) Does Ana have the last full week in Feb off like NYC kids?

Sending good thoughts your way for your grandma and dad!

I agree! The queue is adorable! It truly makes waiting in line a whole lot less painful when there are cute things to look at and fun photo opportunities.

It's a very cute line! If we do it again, I hope we get to meet Woody-we still have yet to meet him!

Isn't that a wonderful walk? Such a nice perk of those resorts! It's so pretty and quiet and peaceful.

Oh Brooke, I'm sorry to hear about your Grandmother and Dad! Prayers that they sail through everything just fine.:goodvibes

Great HS update! We've never done the Toy Story picture queue area (that sounds like it's worded wrong!). It looks like such fun though.

I guess I'm kinda of a bad mom since I purposely walk quickly past the HISTK area! I know that if my kids got in there, we'd be there f-o-r-e-v-e-r. Seriously, I think mine are part monkey since they adore any and all playgrounds.

Love the sweet Henry slide pics, he's getting so big now!

Laundry on vacation seems wrong. It's like cleaning the bathroom on vacation, who does that? Not me. But then again I always overpack.

Oh and congrats on the Mexican Riviera cruise AND Disneyland trip! Just be prepared that Disneyland is different from DW and you'll be fine.:thumbsup2

Sending good thoughts for your grandmother and dad.

Looks like a fun afternoon at DHS. H is just so cute!!

You should really look at staying off-property at DL. It's not really the same as WDW. We stayed at the HoJo and it was a really easy walk to the parks. The room was big and they had a cute pool play area for kids.

Well, you already know if you have any questions that I can help answer about your dad's surgery - fire away. Fingers crossed and lots of prayers that he sails throught the surgery. Same with your grandmother!

I just read about the cruise from Melissa and it sounds like such a fabulous opportunity. How absolutely exciting.

Fingers also crossed for the gifted program. I know that education in NYC is a big deal and very stressful. I hope Henry ends up in a wonderful school. I feel certain he will.

Philadelphia?????? Did I hear you say Philly????? Oh we must get together!

Love the Studios update, Brook. The family photo is great!

And the photos in line waiting to see Buzz are a hoot!

I love little Henry taking a nap in his stroller.

I really need to take a day and explore DHS....I never know where all the characters are.

The honey I shrunk the audience playground looks like so much fun! I've never been inside, but I'm putting it on our "must dos" list for our next trip. I think Everett would have a blast!

I'm sorry to hear about the surgeries, but I hope that they went smoothly and that your family members will be on the mend soon.

I am also really jealous about the Mexican riviera trip! We honeymooned there, and it is lovely, you are going to have a great time!
