Marriage: The Trip Report - Update 2/28 - Final Thoughts & Link to Disneyland TR!

OK - here's the deal. When I can't see a picture with Henry in it, I might as well not even torture myself. Be back later to check out that cute little cowboy!

Poor Bo!!! :lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:

I hope we get to see him soon, too!

:wizard: I STILL haven't out the trick to growing a money tree. :confused3

Brook I usually get up around 7-7:30, but some days I am in my jammies till noon! :rotfl:

I was getting up around 7:30, but that's when Henry gets up and I now NEED at least an hour before he wakes so I can get stuff done! He's at that age where he constantly wants my attention. It's sweet, but exhausting!

I've been up for about 3 hours and I'm still in my pj's, is that bad?

Sounds perfect to me! :thumbsup2

Me too! I was in my PJs until 9. I was up at 5!

OK - here's the deal. When I can't see a picture with Henry in it, I might as well not even torture myself. Be back later to check out that cute little cowboy!

:goodvibes Sounds good! They are fun pictures.

lol ya i try to aviod get out of my PJs as long as possible

Me too! And sometimes they go back on when the sun is still up! :rolleyes1

I submitted another picture to the Disney Memories site. I got an email that it was approved, so I went to look and then started looking at other pictures. Within 3 minutes I was crying...such a sap! :rotfl:

We left off in Pizza Planet, with Henry "playing" video game after video game. I eventually peeled the boys out of there and we moved onward.

We didn't really have an agenda for the night, we just figured we'd do whatever caught our eye.

And what caught our little man's eye but a shiny red car and a rusty tow truck?

This is a very cute meet, Henry loves to touch and hug his buddies! This morning we watched a video of the new section of Lights, Motors, Action! with McQueen in it - looks a bit slow moving, but still fun. I want to see it in August, but not sure I can brave those HOT bleachers for that long. We shall see.

After saying good-bye to our buddies McQueen and Mater we were craving some Chinese food ;)

1210742708_Vkpro-L.jpg

Dedicated to Jordan, even though he's not on the DIS anymore! Henry and I both gave our best moves and had a bit of fun.

We wandered the Streets of America for just a bit.

1210749062_8inpE-L.jpg

And then thought we'd head in to the Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground for Henry to blow off some energy....but it was closed! I didn't realized it closed early. A bit of a bummer, but it makes sense, since it would soon be dark.

Across the street from the playground is the dump shop for the Backlot Tour, and Henry had been asking, pretty much non-stop, for the little monorail guys. So in we went and out we came

1210749936_Kr9Sh-L.jpg

Success! And believe it or not, we still have ALL of them.

We wandered through Pixar Place, which we usually avoid unless we are going to ride

1210750733_Hd2nt-L.jpg

Just think of the crowds here should they expand with more rides. :scared1:

1210751963_DC7Bk-L.jpg

And eventually we found ourselves here

1210752486_Ztwzx-L.jpg

The show was about to start, and we hadn't ever done it and have always wanted to - so in we went!

1210753751_AQ3tU-L.jpg

The theater is amazing! Wow!

I really had no idea what to expect, I couldn't remember any detailed information about the show. We enjoyed every minute! What a very cool and fun show!!! Henry still talks about it! (though, he is frightened of Ursala. I don't blame him! ;))

The effect where she turned into a human had me in awe! I'm sure it's something simple, but man, it looked COOL!

After the show we decided to go check out the wait time for RnRC, on the way I noticed something on the hat

1210769497_Ct4F7-L.jpg

The stars sparkled! I had NEVER noticed that before! You can see the little glimmer here on the lower star. What a neat little plus!

Pit-stop!

I don't even know what shop this was...it's right on the corner by Starring Rolls.

1210770967_qAp9E-L.jpg

It was a cool evening, so I got me some

1210771887_vHqGj-L.jpg

and we all shared a cookie that was as large as Henry's head!

1210772858_XTFkZ-L.jpg

Unfortunately, RnRC had a 30 minute single-rider line, we so vetoed it and headed back to the Great Movie Ride.

Continued in next post

On the way

This one is for mickeystoontown! I thought of you while taking that. The outakes on this pic are pretty funny!

Eventually we arrived

1210779777_iVDBz-L.jpg

I chanted "Cowboy" over and over again on our way in...

But we got...

Sigh.

Someday I will get the cowboy!! I just might ask next time, but I like the element of surprise.

Henry was asking a question approximately every 9 seconds during this ride. I tried to distract him during the Alien scene, which made him just want to look even more. Which also scared him. He was scared of the gun shots, wondered what happened to our guide, why there was a skeleton and who the Wicked Witch was. It was tiring!

After our ride through the movies we ventured back over to RnRC - the line was short! So I hopped into the line first. The boys hung out in the gift shop because it was a windy and cool night, I rocked my way through and soon Joe was riding. Henry was d-o-n-e with that gift shop, so we ventured outside and played air guitar

1210803848_MCP2J-L.jpg

Soon Joe was done too. Henry was more than done (if you catch my drift!) and it was time to go.

1210807034_SYjjD-L.jpg

At 8:50 we left the park to some very dramatic music just as a boat was pulling up. It was a fun moment, walking, with flair, to the music - Joe and I decided it was the perfect soundtrack of not having to wait for a boat on a cold and windy night! Ha!

Soon we were back at the Boardwalk, we stopped for some popcorn

Said hello to George...

WARNING CREEPY CLOWN ALERT!

1210813332_6tFcz-L.jpg

Is it just me or is it even more weird that his eyes glow even under refurb? Even though I love George, the black tarp over his "mouth" just makes it all bizarre!

And finally we were back in the room.

Which is what Henry had been asking for since the minute we purchased his little monorail guys.

All he wanted to do was
1210813994_RwheV-L.jpg

PLAY!

This is the one night of our vacation that I went to the gym. I had high hopes of going more often, but well...

However, I had an AWESOME workout! I did a 5k! I had never run one before and was very proud of my accomplishment.

When I got back to the room Henry and Joe were watching Off to Neverland that they had borrowed out from Community Hall. They were snuggled into bed and half asleep.

After the movie, and just before we turned off the light Henry wanted to look out the window...he was looking for Peter Pan.

GREAT updates, Brook.

That cookie WAS as big as Henry's head! :cool2:

I can't remember the last time we had a Cowboy/Cowgirl on the Great Movie Ride. :sad2:

I love the pic of you that you took for Lisa. :thumbsup2

Sorry, but "Geoge" is just too much for me and will permanently keep us from staying at the BW.

Funny that Henry wanted to go back to the room and play with his monorail and people. And I loved that he was looking for Peter Pan. :lovestruc

Sounds like a great rest of the night!

You got some good detailed shots on the Streets of America!

I can't believe you never saw the Little Mermaid before. Just wait. . .if you ever have a girl you will have to go to that and Beauty and the Beast every trip.

We always get the gangster too!

That clown is creepy!

Good for you for working out but I think walking around WDW all day is enough of a workout!

I can totally hear you chanting, "Cowboy, cowboy!":rotfl: I can't remember a time when we've gotten the cowboy, either. If it weren't for people on the DIS, I'd think it was one of those urban legends that fly around....

Henry has that totally super excited face going on while showing off his new monorail people - that was one happy boy!

I haven't seen Voyage of the Little Mermaid in years, I may try and fit that in in October, it's such a short trip though.

I've only had the cowboy once, they must not run that scene as often.

I was prepared for the photo of George, but I shuddered anyway.........

Henry looking out the window for Peter Pan put a huge smile on my face, how stinkin' cute is that?!

Awesome update:goodvibes

That cookie is humungous, but looks delicious.

We've also never had the cowboy side but I keep hoping.

Henry's monorail set looks like an awesome toy, and he looks so happy playing with it in the last pics.

Looking forward to more

What a fun update! I like the "go with the flow" attitude you had in touring the park that day. I can't believe that you have never see Voyage of the Little Mermaid. We all love it and I, too, am amazed whenever Ariel turns into a human.

Super cute jumping picture! And thanks for thinking of me when you took it. You know how us McBrides like those jumping pictures.:yay:

Great update BE!

I enjoyed the DHS photos. Great job on the restaurant interiors. Those can be really tricky.

Glad to hear Henry got him some monorail peeps. Also love the Peeps tribute!

That cookie looks awesome! Your pics definitely make me want to linger around DHS at night more, the lights and the stars look so pretty!

Wow I am super-impressed with your 5K after the parks! :worship:

Aw, that last part just brought tears to my eyes.."Just before we turned off the light, Henry wanted to look out the window..he was looking for Peter Pan." How adorable!

Henry is so cute playing with his monorail set!

I loved your jumping picture!!! How fun are you?!?! :thumbsup2

A cookie as big as my child's head??? YUM!!!! Hahahahaha! :lmao:

I don't think I've posted in a long time.. but i've been reading along :) Thought i'd leave a comment!

Henry is so cute. I just love all of your adventures :goodvibes

Those little monorail characters look ADORABLE. My children will definitely have monorail playsets

Reading these past updates made me really miss Hollywood Studios. I LOVE Voyage of the Little Mermaid. That show is just absolutely adorable!

And oh, there's going to be a cars section in Lights Motors Action starting in August? I'm gonna have to maybe check it out!

Yay thanks for updating! I can't wait for the next one princess:

What a great night! I :lovestruc that Henry was looking out the window for Peter Pan!!

Okay, on the cowboy scene: The Great Movie Ride is Miren's FAVORITE ride and we usually do it twice on every DHS day, so we've had the cowboy scene a few times, and this is what I've deduced. I don't know how accurate this really is, but it's been our experience 1. it's usually when the park is really busy (summer or Christmas) 2. you get the cowboy if you get the front "vehicle". Okay, I don't know what they're called exactly, but there's actually two vehicles that get loaded, each with a driver. If you walk out directly in front of you when the doors open and load into that vehicle, then that is the second vehicle. If you take a right when you walk out through the doors, then that is the first one. If you're in that one, then you ride through the gangster scene but don't stop, instead you proceed to the cowboy scene and stop there, while the vehicle behind stops at the gangster scene. Both scenes occur simultaneously, it's just a matter of being in the front vehicle or the back. I think maybe when the park is not too full they only use the back one, and that is why most people see the gangster. :confused3

These are from last summer
