Marriage: The Trip Report - Update 2/28 - Final Thoughts & Link to Disneyland TR!

Oh Brook I know how those long dreary NY winters are. It makes it so hard after spending 2 weeks in paradise.

Good luck in the job department and as everyone has said you will find the right balance of work/family balance.

I worked very part time when my DD was little and went back part time/full time when DS was 2 1/2. He needed the social aspect and the school he went to did not have a half day program so I looked for full time to basically pay the school.

I felt more organized and focused when I worked, even very part time. I would procrastinate ( still do ) when given no deadline and there was always tomorrow.

The funny thing about the long NY winters is that they are DRASTICALLY shorter than those in Minnesota where we basically had cold from October straight through late April. Here we didn't even get snow until December and it's been gone for a long time...yet I'm itchin' more than ever for Spring. I think it's due to having a high-energy 3 year old and that we spend SO much time outside in the summer, I'm just ready, ready, ready!

That is exactly how I am as well! I procrastinate with no given deadline. So far, even though I've only been working for about a week, I feel incredibly more productive and focused. It feels SO good to be working again.

Congrats!!!!

Thank you!!!!! :dance3:

OK, I'm confused with the congratulations you're getting here, did I miss something??? Something you probably posted on FB, *sigh*.......

 Just another reason to give in... You know we will eventually suck you to the Dark Side, right??? ;)

I was confused too when I saw the posts this am. So I checked Facebook. She is working as a Disney travel agent!!

Congrats Brook!!:dance3: As I mentioned on FB you will be awesome!!

Thank you!!!! I was overwhelmed with the incredible response I got on Facebook by changing my work status! You guys are incredible!

Thank you for filling me in, I think I'm the last person on earth without a FB account :lmao:

Congratulations Brook, that is so exciting!!! Maybe I need that job too, I could use some Disney travel money and what could be more fun than planning Disney vacations

Thank you!! So far I am loving the job. It does put a bit of extra money in your pocket for the travels. I love to book and plan and research anything Disney, so it's a great fit so far. I've been challenged in it already!

I am SOOO late but here now!! :) Going back to read!!

:welcome: Katie! Glad you made it!

I so agree with this. I have been lucky enough to be a SAHM for the past 5 years and hope to continue with only a part time job come fall. But I have had people mainly my inlaws, which makes it harder, tell me that I need to be out working. And I'm so glad that my DH and I have stuck to our guns and have worked out a way for me to stay at home. It seems like yesterday that my DS was a baby and now he will be starting kindergarten this fall. I don't think I will ever regret the time I have spent with him and I don't feel like I have wasted my talents. The talents are still there and I'll use them later in life.

I believe congrats are in order?!! Yay on getting your dream job!!

Good job on sticking to your guns! You have to do what is right for you and your family, despite what anyone else says!!! I had people question my choice both when I was working and when I decided to stay home. I don't think I will ever regret spending this time with Henry either - even though some days have been looooooooooong and I'm more of a career person than a SAH type. Like you said, the talents are still there. I am thinking this balance of career + SAH will work quite nicely and give me the balance I've been seeking. I can put however much time into it as I want, it's just right. :thumbsup2

Congrats again Brook!!!! I am truly honored to be working for the same agency as you & I look forward to our adventures in learning together!!!! :thumbsup2

Oh and we have something else we need to do -- convince Michelle to sign-up for facebook! :lmao:

Thank you Hope! It's been sooooo much fun getting to know you better over this past week too! I wish we lived closer!

Me too! I'm not on facebook either so I was wondering why everyone was congratulating Brook!

Brook!!! What fabulous news!!! Girl, you better get your hiney over here to the disboards and fill us in on the details. I'm so happy for you, I knew something would work out. You just have to trust God that His timing is better than yours, right? Congratulations!

 I know! I kept wanting to get over here, but my time was disappearing (well, still is) from underneath me. In a good way though! I was busy working and enjoying every minute of it. I know things will loosen up a bit after I have my classes done too.

And you are EXACTLY right about trusting God's timing. He's got it. And after I truly just let go (well, I had to let go a couple times...you know how it is!), things fell into place. ::yes::

Congrats Brook!! I just sent you a friend request so I can stay in the loop!

Thank you!!!!

Congratulations! I agree with 3prettyprincesses.....give us the details!

Thank you!!

Yay Brook!!! This is so exciting! You will be a wonderful travel agent... how fun will that be to plan amazing trips for families going to the World????? :thumbsup2

Thank you! I am very excited about helping people plan! I recently had an old friend on FB contact me about a trip because she's seen all our pics and they are completely GREEN to WDW. I am so looking forward to helping her plan their perfect trip!

Enjoying your TR so far! I was one of those runners out there on your first day. Probably running at about the time you were passing too!

How very cool! And CONGRATULATIONS! That is an amaaaaaaaaaaazing feat!!!!! I hope to do that race someday.

Brook, First of all, congrats on the TA job! I'm insanely jealous and kind of mad about it! Haha, but in a good way! You know what I mean...I guess that's jealousy...

Secondly, I'm sure you've heard the news about DCL sailing from NYC in 2012! I'm thinking a NY/NJ DISmeet might be in order for one of these "cruise to nowhere" weekends! :thumbsup2

LOL! I do know what you mean! :goodvibes Thank you for the congrats! I'm excited about it all!

Oh man, I LOVE your idea about NY/NJ meet! :cloud9: I really want to do a meet this Spring/Summer for everyone in this area...can you imagine all of us on a cruise together?!?!?! Did you book one?

I'm sure you aren't the only one.... :confused3

First of all, Brook, so happy about your new job! It sounds great... Disney college, huh? That sounds like so much fun.

And congrats on booking the cruise. I'd love to book, but next summer seems so far away. I'd love to do one of the cruises to nowhere, just to see if I like (I'm afraid I'll be seasick!).

A NY area Dismeet would be great! :thumbsup2

I think I should send you a friends request too, otherwise I will have no idea what it going on . Congratulations!!

Thank you!!! And thank you for the friend request!

Hi there, just subbing in! Your trip reports are wonderful, I am up to date on you 2011 trip and about half way through your September 2010 trip. Henry is too cute, it's amazing to see how much he has grown in only a few months! Look forward to reading more. Congrats on your TA job!

:welcome: Thank you for reading! Isn't it CRAZY how quickly he changed between trips? Bye-bye to the little boy, right??? I'm sure by next trip it will be even more evident.

No you're not! I don't have one either! Well, technically I do... I used my DIS user name to make an account just so I could follow along on live TR posts, but I don't post anything on it myself and no one knows who I am on FB except my DIS friends! I plan to keep it that way too! I can't keep up with the DIS AND Facebook!

My in-laws are not supportive of our decision either. Other than my parents and my brother-in-law, basically no one in our families is very supportive of me staying at home. They all think that the only thing that matters in life is making all the money you possibly can. So don't think you are alone! I'm sure there are lots of SAHMs who get the same flack that we do. Just keep pressing on!

 There are times when I have let Facebook go completely. Then I get my friends from out of state yelling at me! :rolleyes1 It really is a way for me to keep in touch since my friends, and family, are scattered all over the globe. It's handy in that way. But, if everyone was close to home I probably wouldn't bother!

That is awful about your inlaws. :sad2: The treasure you have given your daughter is far beyond what any paycheck can be!

Omigoodnessomigoodnessomigoodness! Soooo excited for you, getting the DTA job! Congratulations! You must be over the moon about it. Does the timing suit you? I thought you were hoping to have your start of work coincide with Henry's start of school? I'm guessing there will be at least training and orientation starting sooner than September. Travel, too, maybe? Details, please!

Awesome news!!! I am applying as well, it's my dream job. I'll start out doing it on the side & see how it goes. Congrats!!

Thank you!!! I am over the moon about it! When I got an email back from the agency that they wanted me I was  and :hyper: at the same time. The timing was actually just right. I was looking to start now, and then will increase my time to it when Henry enters school. It's perfect because the owner is all about whatever time I want to put into it-she isn't expecting anything. It's all what I make it.

So far all my training is online, but I do know they have on-site training as well. I haven't found out about that yet...but I will! I'd love to do some online training too! Go to Disney World for my job...oh ya! :woohoo:

Congrats Brook! I'm so happy for you! Thank you for the kind words about my pregnancy photos...think I will be posting another one this weekend. The belly is growing!

Looking forward to reading your next update!

Your welcome! I remember growing and growing and growing and GROWING with Henry. It was sooooo weird when he started moving around so much and I could tell where his limbs were! It's such a unique feeling!

I'm guessing from all the congrats you got a job....or are pregnant ?? :lmao:

Congrats on the new job! :woohoo::yay:

LOL!!!!!! JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Though, Henry did tell me today, quite randomly, that he wanted a sister.

Congrats on the job! You will make a great TA!

Thank you!!! I'm already enjoying it!

Great to read some good news, Brook- you''ll be a great TA!!

Thank you!!

Hi Brook, I've been a fan of your TR's forever, so glad I've found this one! I def. think you'd make a great disney travel agent, go for it girl!! Oh and congrats to Henry on the potty training progress, not having to buy diapers/pull-ups is great!

I sooooo understand what you're going through especially when winter seems to linger, I call them blah days, a month ago....almost every day was a blah day, it was terrible and I was pricing trips...anywhere, just out of here! We were planning on going to wdw in dec. but plans fell through so it's been postponed til next year, that is definitely NOT helping my blahs.

My sis asked me the other day "hey, have you ever experienced deja vu?" I'm sure she was expecting a quick simple answer but what came out was..... "dude, really? I'm a stay at home mom to a 3 year old, every single day of my life is almost exactly the same. Breakfast, mickey mouse clubhouse, get dressed & brush teeth, make beds, story time, workbook time, art/painting/play doh time, laundry, cleaning, lunch, coloring time, dolly time, dinner & dishes, gym, shower, pajamas, story time, bed. Lather, rinse, repeat!!" I don't know where that whole vent even came from but it felt good to get it out.

It's been so cold and rainy here and most days really are SO similar to the day before that I lose track of what day it actually is. We do try to mix it up and we do have a few errands/outings like library runs, shopping and DD's dance class but from October to April I just wish I was at Disney world every second of every day lol It's really hard to mix it up when you can't get in any outdoor fresh air time without freezing your butt off and if it's rainy/snowy who wants to go out there anyways? lol sorry to ramble, I just want you to know that you're not alone!!

Hey there! I remember you! And your STINKIN' CUTE DAUGHTER!
Seriously....!!!! So cute.

Oh man, that is awful about your trip being postponed until next year! :sad2: That would be so hard in the midst of the winter blues. I'm incredibly grateful that we had our 2 week escape. I just wish Spring would get here already!

:lmao::lmao::lmao: about deja vu!!!!!!!!!!! That is hilarious! It's true, isn't it?? And I agree, sometimes you just gotta spill it all out. I have a friend here that I see weekly (we kid swap, I take her 3 year old for a day and she takes H so we both get a "free day"-it's bliss) and we vent to each other just like that, then laugh. Being a SAHM is a whole 'nother world.

Congrats Brooke! Come give us no-Facebookers an update when you get a chance :rotfl:

Thank you!!! Sorry I took so long on the update - and I wonder if it even included the details ya'll want to know...! I have missed being on here and updating though, it's been driving me bonkers that I still haven't updated the TR!

I saw on FB too. Congrats Brook! :) Will you be working out of your apartment? How did you find the job?

Thank you! Yes, I am working right from home - which, so far, has been pretty good. I need to organize a few things yet and claim some desk space, but I think it will work just fine. As for finding the job, I emailed a bunch of different companies I had heard of - just from reading various Disney news websites, podcasts and all that - and from other people here on the DIS that I know are TAs already that I asked a few questions to. So, I applied to a few and the one I ended up going with was the first to respond to me with a positive - and it's truly a perfect fit. It's such a great group! Jen (jenseib) & Hope (photographymom517) suggested the agency to me as they both started their recently as well!

That's my big thing, I already spend waaaaay too much time on the computer keeping up on the DISboards, do I really want to add FB to the mix?!

I can so relate to unsupportive in-laws as well. They have never said anything directly to me about me staying home, but I can tell that they feel like their son works awfully hard and I don't do anything Everytime DH is on the phone with them I hear him listing all of the volunteer stuff I've done that week, like my being home needs to be justified. :sad2:

I do spend a ton of time on the computer in attempts to keep up with everything - and on my phone. I know when Henry gets older and has a smartphone I will NOT be able to tell him "don't play with that while eating dinner." :rolleyes1 Joe and I are both addicts!!!! He already calls the iPad "his".

Oh my word. That is awful about your inlaws! Just paint your car yellow and put a meter on the dash. See what they say then. ;)

Wow may I say Henry is absolutley precious! I love the videos! Made me a little sad b/c my babies are almost 18 &15! Cant wait to read more!

Thank you!!! This age is so precious and fun (and trying!)

Well, shucks, that's sweet. You have a hillbilly 'ma'!
And I get a cute little honorary red-headed grandson!
I'll have to tell my two little blonde grandgirlies.
Bella will love having 'Henny' as a part of the family.

I hope you get to be a part of many of Henry's school activities. Field trips and parties with the kids are among our favorite memories.

Keep us posted on the travel agent fun. I suppose many of us have considered this. I know I have - more than once. I don't know how much time I would have to spend on the phone, though, making ADR's and such, with a full-time job. I wouldn't be able to make any calls after 7:30 in the morning, and in the evening, I am wiped out. I do love helping people plan on a casual basis, though. One of our school secretaries is on her way there now. She's spending only one day at MK, but it was fun to help her map out her strategy and give her a printout of places to eat and prices from allears. She was floating on air yesterday.

You are too funny! Henny will love having those two sweet blondes in his family!

I do know some people do the TA thing along with a full-time job...how they do it, I have no idea! It does take quite a bit of time on the phone and focused on the computer for research/making reservations.

That is so neat about helping the school secretary. Was it her first trip? And such a nice time to go-the weather is just perfect down there. A good way to live through her a bit too I'm sure!

Ok, so only:

 Thanks Magdalene!

Thats the same one we are thinking about doing? Love how many days at sea we'll have.

Oooh! Let me know if you book it!!! I haven't a clue what to expect for the days at sea, but I'm thinking we will really enjoy exploring the ship and all it has to offer on those 4 days. I gotta read more cruise TRs and read all about it!

Congrats Brook. I need to friend you on facebook! Can't wait for the update.

I saw your PM - I tried to find you on Facebook, but it didn't bring anything up. I'll PM you back tonight. :thumbsup2

The Magic is just made for days at sea! Good luck getting the one you want!

I love hearing that!

I just noticed you started your TR!! I need to get my head out of the books!;)

Henry is so darn cute!!! I believed he would have left you guys and would have gone to the airport by himself.:rotfl:

I hate that you guys had a delay, but it apparently did not hamper your spirits!!! How could it?? You were going to the most magical place on earth! Can't wait to hear more and see more videos of Henry.

:welcome: Glad you found me!!

I think you are very, very right about Henry willing to take off without us to the airport! That boys loves to travel and knows when we are getting on a plane it's good!

Oh that's so great!! Once again, I am insanely jealous of you! :lmao: How great that you will be celebrating your bday in WDW!! That worked out perfectly! I too thought I had to jump on the opportunity to sail DCL right out of NYC but I don't think I can justify it...... boooooo! Not for summer 2012 anyway. We already are planning on getting APs and making a WDW trip that summer. This can't be it for DCL at NYC, I'm sure...right? Maybe if they do it again the following summer.....Does this mean you booked your first official trip as a TA?! :)

I can't imagine this being the only year for DCL in NYC - they have already proven to be quite popular, so if it's a money-maker, they will be sticking around!

We currently really can't swing the trip, but thankfully have over a year to pay it off. We'll be working hard to make an extra buck on the side through various means to help pay for it all. It's kind of our project for the year! It might be the theme of the PTR maybe...

And yes! I booked my first official trip as a TA! HOWEVER, due to a delay in getting my name into the TA database on the TA site I have to do a transfer form, to transfer my own trip to myself. If that makes any sense. :rotfl:

Congratulations on the cruise!! :sail:

Thank you! I love that little smiley and love that I have a reason to use him!

CONGRATS!!! I am happy to hear you are a travel agent now!!! That is awesome. And as another bonus you got a cruise plus a day in Disney, AMAZING!! That sounds awesome.

Thank you on both counts! Yes! I am soooo excited about our cruise. I have to make myself kinda forget about it though since it's 14 months away still. But, in the mean time I'll be researching!

Congrats on booking the cruise:banana:. Sounds like fun. And no, it's not just you. I forget how old I am all the time...well, except maybe this year. Everyone keeps reminding me I'm going to be 40:scared1: next month. 40 really? It is just a number right?:rolleyes1

I'm so glad I'm not alone! Joe and I literally had to open the calculator on the computer and do the math.

40 is just a number! Don't worry about it!

What a perfect spot to celebrate your birthday at Disney World, sandwiched with a cruise!!

I love that you goofed on your birthday number... I do that too. I have a friend who went for a full year thinking she was a year older than she actually was! It wasn't until she was nearing her next birthday that she mentioned it to her brother who did some family birthday math and told her she was actually turning that age on her next birthday. She said was great gaining a whole year to her life like that!

Noah will be insanely jealous that you're going on a birthday cruise(well, me too for that matter!)... I found out through a friend who's son is a friend of Noah's that he went to school and invited his classmates on a Disney Cruise for his birthday in May!! :lmao: What a turkey! (Little does he know that he and I are leaving on Mother's Day for four nights!!)

:rotfl2: that is HILARIOUS about your friend! I love it! And truly, it all just doesn't matter as much after 30. They all just kinda blur together after that and with having a child!

OH MY WORD! How funny that he invited classmates on a cruise! I can only imagine what the parents said when the kids went home and said "Noah invited me on a cruise for his birthday party!" :lmao: Too funny!!

Love the KOTS trip too. ::yes:: Nice little present to Momma too!

Congrats on booking the cruise! We had booked on-board last week on the Magic for next January - knowing that we would bump it to a 2013 when those dates came out. Well, I couldn't wait for 2013 and switched the ressie to a 5-night Canadian cruise for 7/15/2012.

You will love the Magic. It is a beautiful ship.

 for the 5-night to Canada! That sailing looks amazing! I know we would love that one too. We hope to do that one in a following year! I know we would enjoy all those ports and seeing Canada.

I'm excited to research more into the Magic and see some great pics! I've mostly stayed off the cruise boards (other than a few TRs here and there and the basic info type threads) - because I know I would just be making it more painful that a cruise wasn't in the plans...but now that can all change!

These are GREAT news. Congratulations and all the best on your new job.:cool1:Can I just say College of Disney knowledge sounds like so much fun!!!

Congratulations on booking the cruise also! This is soooo exciting! I would love to the Canadian one but I guess we will have to wait for 2013 if they ever decide to have it again.

Keep us posted.

Thank you!!! Lots of exciting news all in one week!

I sure hope they keep the Magic here for a while. I'd love to take that Canadian one too. I'm sure it will be incredibly beautiful!

Awe... that rip sounds like fun! I think I've read most of your report! ;) Congrats on becoming a TA and I'm totally jealous of your Disney Education!

Thank you!!

Well geez, I'm starting to feel like I'm the only one around here lately who HASN'T booked a Disney cruise! Not that I'm jealous or anything...:snooty::rotfl: One of these days we'll get to go on one (I hope!).

 You will! I'm sure of it! You could probably convince your Dad, don't you think??? :teeth:

:lmao::lmao:

I'm sure you aren't the only one.... :confused3

I think Sarah needs a cruise! I'm surprised her family hasn't taken one yet!

I hear July is a beautiful month in the N.E. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Last July...whooooeeeeeeee...:sad2: That was our month of 100 degrees, wasn't it? I could handle a day or two out at sea, sounds like a pretty perfect escape to me! ;)

:thumbsup2

Yep! Disney College! It is fun, and interesting...and makes me want to book every single Disney trip out there! :rolleyes1 DCL, ABD, DL - give it all to me!

It is so far away...14 months. Ugh. We have to make it through another winter before we get to go! But, it's good for us. Because it gives us time to PAY for it! LOL

I am thinking a DISmeet is a must for this Spring/Summer. When does that Earl of Sandwich open...?

Okay - sorry AGAIN for the delay on this update, but the little man decided to take a verrrrrry teeny nap today; therefore, an update did not happen!

However, I am determined.

And I drank a Starbucks earlier this evening, so let's get movin' on this TR!

We last left off as we had finished up our yummy eats at the Main Street Bakery and we had a 3 year old DISer taking some food pictures.

We had a 10:30 reservation at the Main Street Barber Shop and were about to head in that direction.

HOWEVER, before I progress I failed to tell you a VERY important event that took place earlier that morning back in our room. I cannot believe I forgot to mention this before!

If you remember correctly from the first video where I told Henry we were leaving for Mickey's House TODAY, I also, quite sternly told him not to open his suitcase.

Well, there was a reason for that.

We had a surprise inside. :teeth:

A few of you know we debated on buying the big monorail set, Henry had asked for it on our previous trip, and we figured we might end up coming home with it on this one. A WONDERFUL DISer, Gabrielsbigtrip, PM'ed me offering us a monorail set! She said her son hardly played with it and she would rather it go to a child who would play with it and make them happy. I am pretty certain I stared at that PM with my jaw dropped for a good 10 minutes. Words do not express how thankful I am!

Of course...we didn't tell Henry about this. Muahahaha.

We put it in a shopping bag inside his suitcase. That morning, we woke up at the Boardwalk and encouraged him to open his suitcase...

Video: Henry opens his monorail (2 minutes, 34 seconds - and sorry, we are in our PJs!)

Video: Henry thanking Carol - the awesome DISer! (32 seconds)

He was still a bit groggy and so, so excited he was shaking! It was a very fun moment - and it took a bit of our time that morning because we had to set it up and play!

So thank you again! We play with it very often! It's a wonderful toy that tops the list as one of Henry's favorites.

Alright, back on Main Street. We are headed for the Barber Shop...

Let's get some PhotoPass quick!

1201615658_5AVm4-L.jpg

The line is out the door, but thankfully we have that reservation.

However, we have another reservation...and his name is Henry.

He was NOT having the hair cut idea at all. He has never once bucked at a hair cut before - and has even asked for them, so it was a bit baffling to me...but well, that's life with a 3 year old, right?

So, we opted to avoid the meltdown and skip the hair cut. Onward!

Oh, but wait! What is this on Main Street but our favorite little tune?

1201618227_VjB7X-L.jpg

Henry and I listen to (and dance to!) the "Welcome Song" on the 4 Parks 1 World CD several times a week - he was thrilled to see it in person...and so was I! I love this show. Henry still talks about the omnibus whenever we listen to the song!

1201626325_QwWG6-L.jpg

And pretty soon they were all boarded back on and headed right down the middle of Main Street USA.

1201631579_o5u9j-L.jpg

We turned our focus to the other end of the street

1201635852_QEEjz-L.jpg

Hello beautiful.

A pause at the Partner's Statue for what I thought was going to be a very cool PhotoPass shot with it, but what we got was

1239893200_PqGah-L.jpg

All well!

1239894240_GApYw-L.jpg

Love this one though!

Heading to the right

This is a beautiful Meet & Greet area! But that line...whoooeeeee! It was always really long.

Where we we headed for our first ride of the day?
1201648885_DyyVC-L.jpg

(iPhone in hand, updating - you like that? LOL)

The nausea inducing cups! Perfect after a Main Street Bakery Second Breakfast!

Obviously, the toddler's choice. But, all well - we love it too!

And yes, I do believe that man is picking his nose right there in the green cup! Ooops!

We looked at the cruise and decide not to book it. We are moving that summer and don't wanna spend that much for a cruise. I would love to have that many days at sea. We also have the monorail set and love it. Can't wait to get a house big enough so we can display it 247.

Nose picking and lunch loosing....or in my case second breakfast loosing.

Yep, we are at the tea cups!

We waited just one rotation

I truly hope this new Storybook Circus area is incredible. It sounds like it could have potential, or be a bit of a letdown. All the new stuff has been blowing my socks off, so I hope this is the case for the entire expansion too!

Alright, our wait is over - let's ride!

Henry once again wanted a PINK teacup, but then switched to green at the last minute.

Much to the relief of his color-blind Daddy.

Joe then handed me his phone. He wanted me to video the whole thing while he spun us silly.

Seriously. This video is not pleasant!

Video: Don't loose your lunch! (1 minute, 36 seconds)

For those of you who opt not to watch it (don't blame you!) it was an intense ride. Henry was enjoying it all and then suddenly went quiet and sat back. He even looked a bit pale - and kids don't really get dizzy! So you know we were WHIPPING!

And Joe stopped the dern cup and then changed our rotation! WORST IDEA EVER. DON'T DO IT!!!!!

:sad2:

Despite all that, we still had a blast. Everyone was laughing and smiling. Getting slightly sick is part of the fun, right?

Or something like that...

Anyway! We have a boy.

He likes cars. A LOT.

Next stop?

The wait said 30 minutes. Henry didn't care, he wanted to be on those cars! So we jumped in line.

After about 20 minutes it was our turn. Henry was great in line - he was entertained enough with just watching everything around him.

I hopped into the car behind the boys so Henry could "win". He's in that stage where everything is a race.

Here we go!

Sputtering around the track and hitting the rail 2382 times. But hey, it's a huge thrill for the little man, so I'm game and I love every second of it.

Closed off Toon Town on the right.

Pete's Garage no longer.

Throughout the "race" I could hear Henry shouting various things to me. "Hi Mommy! I'm going to beat you!" It was pretty cute.

The race was over and the winner was declared. Henry by two car lengths!

The CM had given H a Drivers License. He was pretty proud of that and kept it in his pocket all day. He'd pull it out randomly and just hold it. :cutie:

We had time for 1 more ride before our 12:20 ADR at the Plaza. Let's go this way...

Ah, yes! Here it is!

Up Next: Winnie the Queue.

Ah, bummer! I was hoping for a meet! But, I totally understand. Moving has so many unknowns. It's a good decision. And hopefully they will all still be around next year and you will be able to book for 2013!

We cannot display the monorail all the time either. Henry's room is teeny, so it's a bit of an interesting task to set it up in there. It's such a fun toy though. We have built Lego platforms and Epcot to go with it!

Oh looking at your pictures is like being on Main Street! I can't wait to be back!

Very cute Photopass pictures!

I really like Rapunzel's meet and greet area I haven't seen it before on the DIS

Great choice for a first ride! :thumbsup2

The Storybook circus fence is adorable!

Can't wait to hear about the Winnie the Pooh queue!

Aw, Brook, what a wonderful morning! Henry's reaction the getting the monorail set is just priceless. You've got such a great little boy!

Love the update! Can't say I blame Henry for not wanting to get a haircut. Who would want to sit through that when you cxould be spinning yourself silly on the teacups:scared1:. To funny about the pink cup. When Jack was 3 & 4 & 5 his favorite color was pink. We always had to ride in the pink cup and the pink elephant etc. Oh the long conversations with DH trying to convince him that to a 3 year old pink is just a color. It means NOTHING! just a color just a color .UGH! Sure glad Jack's favorite color is now shiny blue.:lmao::lmao:

Congrats on becoming a Disney travel agent AND booking a cruise! You have had a great pixie dust-filled week! :wizard:

Love the video of Henry with his monorail set! It was so cute that he was so excited he was shaking! I have to confess I want a monorail set for my own now that I know it makes sounds. LOL!

Great morning in the MK! Looks like a lot of fun!

Congrats on becoming a Travel Agent!!! And on your Disney Cruise! How awesomely fun! :goodvibes

The video of Henry opening the monorail set is way too cute! I had no idea that it had audio recordings too, I love that!

I'm very excited to see your pictures of the Winnie the Pooh queue line, seems like they did some pretty fun stuff there!

Another great round of pictures, Brook! :thumbsup2 Max loved the TTA. Not the most exciting ride in the World, but we had a great time, nonetheless.

I already priced out a five night cruise up the New England coast! :lmao: Maybe we'll be putting down a deposit after we get back from our summer trip. :confused3 I just still can't get over the idea that we can get a Disney fix without having to pay for airfare! :goodvibes

Ok, I watched the video, and it reminded me why I will never, ever, ever ride the teacups again......

I loved Henry's reaction to receiving the monorail! I had no idea that it 'talked' as well, how awesome is that?
