So, my DFTW is coming up 11/7. Im about 45 days or so away, so I need to start looking into the marriage license. I remember my planner giving me a pamphlet, but my father took it to make payments. I also remember previous threads, but can't find those or the websites that you ladies used! I found one, but the price seemed outrageous, so please share where I need to obtain my marriage license, as I am out of state. Thanks!

Hi there! I'm assuming you're getting married in Florida, not CA - this is the Florida answer :)

The quickest way (and cheapest) way is going through Brevard County's mail order license application. Lurkyloo on the boards made a podcast here that walks you through it.

I'm not sure if you can request the application online, but I downloaded this form and mailed it to Brevard County. A week or so later they e-mailed me the application, which my fiance and I completed and had notarized (you can visit your bank if you don't know any notary publics near you), and we mailed back the notarized form (along with copies of our IDs and the other required forms the county sent to us) & a money order for the license fee (yes, it really does cost just under $100. One of those necessary evils!) The county will review your application and return it to you with THEIR signature, thus making it legal and valid to use.

Hope this helps :goodvibes We're 19 days out now so don't worry, Brevard acts very quickly.

What PP said above is accurate. You can also go to the Brevard court house to accomplish this while in Florida if you need to. You have enough time to get it done now but I wouldn't wait too much longer for the mail away process

If you do decide to just pick up your license when you get to Florida, the Orange County and Osceola County courthouses are closest to Disney. Brevard County is awesome for mail-away licenses, but it's located about 60 miles from Walt Disney World. :thumbsup2

We are getting Married on the Wonder next summer and it will be departing from Vancouver. I have found a close location to get the actual license. I was wondering if anyone had experience with this in Vancouver and had any tips or advice in general. This is the one part of our wedding/trip that I am really nervous about and haven't been able to find too much info on. And unfortunately my planner has been less than helpful and even accidentally sent me the Florida info when I asked. :headache:

Can't help with the license but Vancouver is lovely.

We went through Brevard County. The back and forth did not take long at all - we sent in an application; they sent back a few documents including the license - we got it signed and notarized, sent it back with a check, they did whatever they needed to do on their end and sent it back to us just waiting for the Officiant to sign off on it. It took us about 3 weeks with mailing things back and forth (but that was also us waiting a few days until we could get the forms notarized).

We are members of AAA and just used them to notarize our forms (call ahead to make sure they have a notary on staff if you do this option).
