Hi everyone! Can anyone tell me what we need to take to get our marriage licence? Is it just passports or do we need anything else? Also, how many days before the wedding do we need to get it. Thanks! :thumbsup2

All you need is your passport, and there is no waiting period for non-Florida residents, so you could get it the day of, if you wanted to. :thumbsup2

If you do decide to get the license by mail, here is the information that ive compiled for myself that you may find useful!

Q, Do I have to pay the marriage license fee in cash?
A. No. Payment may be made by cashier's check, certified check, money order, or credit card. Our office accepts VISA, Master Card, American Express and Discover. Please refer to Fees & Charges under the Quick Links box on our Home page for the cost of a marriage license.

Just know that if you go to the Osceola County Courthouse, the fee is actually $97.50. Orange County and Brevard County charge $93.50.

I dont think Natalie has time to do it by post - wow not long to go x

We just got our from the Osceola County Courthouse. It was $97.50 and you have to pay in cash or American Express. They do not take Visa or Mastercard or personal checks! Also, if you want a copy of the certificate you have to give them a self addressed stamped envelope. They did ask for identification and at first I handed them my passport. She actually asked for my driver's license as it was easier for her form.

I have a question about the marriage license. DF and I printed out the form and we were filling it out. This is a stupid question but on my part of the license the first line says brides legal name at this time, then the next question says brides legal name at birth. My name hasn't changed so would it be the same name in both lines? The thing that confuses me is if this is where I am supposed to put my new name after marriage. Sorry to ramble, I just don't want to do it wrong.

I think you put the same name for both since you've never been married.

I emailed mine to them last week, and they responded within a half hour when i asked a question about additional copies. The brevard county people, at least, are REALLY on the ball.
