I'm pleasantly surprised at the lack of an uproar on mine. One or two negative comments Friday and barely a word since. I have a LOT of small town, bible belt, "redneck" friends. DW hasn't had as good of luck on her feed though

Public FB pages are the worst. That's where you find out the kinds of people that are out there in the world that you don't necessarily see in your community or amongst your friends.

I had one comment from a FB friend, arguing the legality of the SC even being in the position of making this decision, and that people needed to "respect the differences in males and females." Now, let me tell you who he is. A retired judge in Italy. His last name is the same as my maiden name, and he is from the town in Italy where my father's father lived before coming here 100+ years ago, but we're not related, per him. Somewhere along the way, he connected with my relatives and me. So talk about a challenging discussion with a language barrier, along with religious, age, and cultural differences. I held back, out of respect to him...a little.

No, there are a few more decisions (4 or 5 left if I recall) which will come out Monday. I was surprised we got this one before the last day too, nice us them to give us the weekend to celebrate

Perhaps coincidental, perhaps intentional on the SC's part, but I do like how the ruling was released Friday before a weekend with many previously scheduled Gay Pride parades and celebrations.

Most definitely intentional. United States v. Windsor was similarly released.
