Marrakesh Restaurant

I am hoping to convince DS and DH to try this restaurant next trip. It's not that they aren't open to trying new things but we have so many 'old favs' it is hard to decide which one of those to not go to! :rotfl:

I would love to see some more reviews and some pictures, please.

We went a few years ago and we enjoyed the food and the atmostphere. I don't remember what I ate so I guess the food was good but not one of those restaurants that I remembered what I ate because the food was phenomenal. The atmosphere is fun, the music, the dancers.

We didn't like it. The food is very ethnic (as well it should be in the Morrocan pavilion - I'm not saying that is a bad thing.) You must be an adventurous eater to like the food there IMHO. It just wasn't our cup of tea. And we didn't have any dancers either, by the way. :confused3

I love this restaurant! We try to go each trip. The Chicken CousCous is delicious, and I love the appetizers, too. The entertainment is nice, btu not overpowering or annoying, and the atmosphere is true to real Morocco, and just like many of the restaurants I dined at in Morocco. Love this place!

Thank you all for the advice. We aren't 'afraid' of the food and are willing to try something new. It is sounding more & more like something I may insist on doing! It's not like we have a local Morroccan restaurant! And if we hate, it's not like we won't find something else to eat!

We went Last Year I would have never have tried it but a CM at our Resort got us Reservations for our Anniversary because he saw our Pins. I am not a very big Ethnic Food eater but I loved it. I had something with Beef I cant remember the Name but really enjoyed it.

I am a big fan of this restaurant. My last experience in December 08 was not as great as many of the others, but it is still at the top of my list. The food is always good and I love the entertainment! So does the DH!!!! I am one of those people that think that all Dis restaurants are worth trying at least once!:goodvibes

We tried it last year and it was very good. Some of our best service of the trip. It wasn't in our top favorites, but still very good. :thumbsup2

I think this is my new mission in life -- to eat at all of the restaurants! That is part of my reason for wanthing to try Marrakesh as well as several other new ones next trip.

Thank you all ... I am definitely making an ADR there when I can actually make them!

To convince the male party members just two words for you "belly dancer." :rotfl:

But seriously, DH & I really like it. It does seem to get mixed reviews here, with the main complaint being "it's bland" -- so like many places in Epcot, probably not the most authentic regional cuisine, if you live in a major metrolpolitan area, you may have better local morrocan cuisine. We generally order the lamb & it's always been fabulous. :goodvibes

Thanks everyone- I appriciate all the opinions.
I made a reservation so it's official! I expect we'll enjoy it as we're both adventurous. And DH will love the bellydancers.... :goodvibes

Yeah, definitely used that to convince DS! Found some pics online for him. He loves lamb and neither DH or I eat it so that is another plus in his mind to go there.

We don't have a Morroccan restaurant near us so I wouldn't know what authentic Morroccan food would taste like. I have read the 'bland' comments as well and agree that some of the EPCOT do lean that way rather than making things ethnically spicy.

The last time we ate there (December) it wasn't nearly as good as the other times. It was always a favorite but now I'm not sure I'd go back.
